Never knew and that's how spot on Mr. GMUNK had it, very impressed. Only saw it a gazillion.5 times so I never really had a chance.

Chee_Koala ,

Yeah but folding screens though. I was never that interested, but then I held one with my own eyes and I instant got the merit if it. I don't need one, but if I had Beyonce money I would for sure want one.

Chee_Koala ,

I get that she is grappling with identity and it's not a clear cut case, but if the precedent is set that similar voices (and I didn't even think it was that similar in this case) are infringement, that would be a pretty big blow to commercial creativity projects.

Maybe it's more a brand problem than an infringement problem.

Chee_Koala ,

If not trained on CSAM or in painted but fully generated, I can't really think of any other real legal arguments against it except for: "this could be real". Which has real merit, but in my eyes not enough to prosecute as if it were real. Real CSAM has very different victims and abuse so it needs different sentencing.

I agree with the mission of this new cap, but my thoughts were this: Coca Cola, PepsiCo, these brands are... so inhumanly big, their budgets are SO extremely deep and large. And this cap? This cap is the best they could come up with? There is not a grain of my being that can believe that. What I do know about these corporations, is that they hate working together to reduce waste. Anytime a bottle deposit system is expanded they basically stamp the floor angrily until the law forces them to adapt or get out, at which point they use the new hated rules in their marketing as if the planet was all they were thinking about all along. Right..

This cap is essentially psychological warfare against the consumer, to form negative thoughts about being responsible with plastic waste. It's purpose is to make you angry about the new rule, while still adhering to it.

Fuck you big food products inc, I hope we introduce a deposit system on fucking everything so you can all sit in the boardroom and cry about it.

You could try a SearXNG someone hosted, it's FOSS and not worse than Google :)

Chee_Koala ,

I guess everyone was right al along, that makes for a pretty boring article though 🤣

Chee_Koala ,

And where do the original scans get saved? And for how long? Who can access those? Can those images be resold? Can I request my personal data and request to have it removed?

I felt 100% violated when I had to go through a machine like this and haven't felt like flying ever since, I'll take the train thanks. When the kids couldn't be scanned because that would constitue child porn, that's where we should have scratched our head and maybe take a step back.

I own the image of my genitals and have exclusive rights to distribute them, not some TSA human I have never met before.

Chee_Koala ,

Yep, intra continental travel is what is left (for pleasure, I guess if you want to emigrate you could take a boat) That's cool, I have seen like 2% of it. Maybe in 25 years, you won't be obliged to share the image of your genitals if you want to travel by plane. Cross ocean travel is really cool and can expand your horizons, but I don't really need it.

Chee_Koala ,

To each there own, but i think after all is said and done, automatic hallway lights are just a natural fit and the best addition home automation gave me (as simple as it is). I have automatic lights in more spots because motion detection is easy, but I wouldn't really miss them except in the hallway, where taking the time to flip the switch takes as much time as traversing, and then you still have to turn it off after.

How can we continue after the horrors that we saw? In face of such dark wretchedness??

Chee_Koala ,

Just the opposite for me, I disconnected because I'm done with Google, now I want to stay way so the algorithm can't find me. I'll check what I want to check, when I want it.

Chee_Koala ,

These cables only supply power straight from the net, which is why they are interchangeable. I have some trimmers/shavers that use a similar cable as the one OP is showing, but they are much smaller then what you are showing. The trimmers have an adapter somewhere in between (because incorporating it into a handheld device would be bulky and... why would you want to?) So, because the power is 'adapted' it's no longer interchangeable.

after 'repairing' my edge, enabling 'get updates as fast as you can' and updating everything, I was able to uninstall edge. Rejoice.

Chee_Koala ,

I wish i loved water but it's just so boring :( . I drink from a stainless steel container now, that adds a bit of zest at least.

Chee_Koala ,

I can tell you that there are decent decaf options, and you should never forget that you habits also enforce that a new coffee taste will be harder to accept. Maybe to get you going you go off normal coffee cold turkey for a bit and then start up with some decaf. I did it this way when i stopped using tabaco and switched to vaping pure product. Before, the flavours were all off, now i can never go back to smoking with a flame :)

Chee_Koala ,

This is an excellent argument for showing downvotes!

Chee_Koala ,

Sure, but think-structures matter. We could have a system that doesn't reward psychopathic business choices (as much), while still improving our lives bit by bit. If the system helps a bit with making the right choices, that would matter a lot.

That's fine, the punishment for being late can be substantial (up to 10% of worldwide turnover), even more so on repeated offense and they have more options than just fines.

"Time is running out!! 🤣" - Brought to you by the 80s babies gang.

Chee_Koala ,

Very cool! I'm walking this same route, but with LibRedirect and Invidious Instance Selector Firefox addons. Maybe libraries can do community video-hosting and moderation? But please, no more businesses

I love me some cold water, but I love cold carbonated drinks EVEN MORE. Now what?

Chee_Koala ,

Just because some creator (or in your words hallucinator) did not intend meaning, does not prohibit or somehow prevent any beholder to still derive or instill meaning. Your weird comment is also art. The webpage or app we are viewing it on is art. Remember this?. The definition you use may suit you personally, but words are for communicating with others, and to most others it's definition will be crucially different than yours. Consider adjusting your view or the words you use.

I like Lemmy a lot, and I liked Reddit before. I never really liked Twitter, just followed some NASA accounts that told what certain probes/landers/rovers were doing. I'm interested in Mastodon because federated platforms seem to sustainably fill the gap the big 5 are trying to enlarge. What kind of content are you guys getting from there?

Lemmy was kind of jarring at first, but extensions like the universal link switcher help a lot. Any stuff like that to help onboarding Mastodon? Thx folks.
