It's great but I've had greater sensitivity in my finger tips after trying to get used to it. Then typing hurt so I had to switch to a trackball and just regular vertical mouse. I miss the gestures for virtual desktops.

Not really new but probably not that popular for everyone.
It seems it was coined in 2010: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_pattern. In the web dev space I was using it like 8-9 years ago, more or less.

I have a reminder to cancel Amazon Prime in a month. I never really used the TV portion until a few months ago and was like, fine ... the selection sucks but it's alright. After they introduced the ads now, it's unusable to me. I'm getting rid of it entirely and not rewarding this type of behaviour.

A few months ago my director started discussions on return to office mandates. No one else really paid any attention.

I went in today and nobody is here, including my director. I don't think anyone thinks the commute is worth the value they're pitching.

See, it turns out that the Rabbit R1 seems to run Android under the hood and the entire interface users interact with is powered by a single Android app. A tipster shared the Rabbit R1’s launcher APK with us, and with a bit of tinkering, we managed to install it on an Android phone, specifically a Pixel 6a....

R1s statement in response from the article:

“rabbit r1 is not an Android app. We are aware there are some unofficial rabbit OS app/website emulators out there. We understand the passion that people have to get a taste of our AI and LAM instead of waiting for their r1 to arrive. That being said, to clear any misunderstanding and set the record straight, rabbit OS and LAM run on the cloud with very bespoke AOSP and lower level firmware modifications, therefore a local bootleg APK without the proper OS and Cloud endpoints won’t be able to access our service. rabbit OS is customized for r1 and we do not support third-party clients. Using a bootlegged APK or webclient carries significant risks; malicious actors are known to publish bootlegged apps that steal your data. For this reason, we recommend that users avoid these bootlegged rabbit OS apps.”

So there's literally no reason for this to have been a device at all.

They're possibly complimentary but not mutually exclusive. I think if they sold the form factor of the device over the phone that that would have been more honest marketing.

I'm using Outlook on my Android phone for my really old school Hotmail account. Yes, I have Gmail too but this is just one I've had for years.

When I tried opening an external link it asked me if I wanted to use Edge and has it selected above my "default FF" option.. I mean, what the hell guys.

Saw a random YouTuber I thought I liked do a livestream. He usually does reactionary or random updates content.

I go in and he's ragging on Biden and I see people doing SuperChats with pro-Trump messages and just casual racism. Apparently, Biden's PR person probably should have been white according to these guys. I ducked out, was quite sad.

Tesla claimed she had used company time and resources for a secret personal project, which it said was embezzlement - a crime in the US.

It's only okay for Elon to do it. In any case, they have no proof and didn't present any proof of it to her it seems.

Her concerns seem relevant now with the Cyber Truck having that accelerator pedal issue too.

    It can also depend on the device. I've had smaller devices and have had to charge multiple times a day. After getting a bigger phone with a bigger battery. I simply don't think about it anymore. I imagine my phone dying before the battery does or even if it does, I'll pay for a replacement if needed. I'd rather not stress in the day to day.

    There were no mask mandates federally I don't think. Most of those were instituted state-wide?

    Vaccine mandates date back to 1800s in the US. However, I'm once again I'm left to my imagination.

    I think I'd need some examples? Also, are those things fascist? Or are they government policies you disagree with?

    Hang on, so the president instituted a vaccine mandate but the supreme court shot it down. How's that fascist? I did mention that vaccine mandates aren't actually new.

    If things are done at the state level isn't that dependent upon the state? How's that a blue thing? Were only blue states affected? Would you mind linking to any articles about this?

    I mean I think removing Roe V Wade was far more damaging than any of that stuff. I thought seizing the supreme court was messed up.

    I used them in computer graphics and game programming. As a regular software dev, not so much.

    There's not much about what features these are. I understand AI costs a lot to run and they're at least being upfront before they enshittify. That being said, I never liked Bixby and I hated that cursed button and every time I accidentally pressed it. I also gave up on Galaxy phones after removing the headphone jack, SD card and stuff.

    I think it's why having good labour laws and unions are so important. Many people think tech workers are spoiled and would always will be so they'll never need them. Don't think they saw these mass firings and AI stuff coming.
