After announcing increased prices, Spotify to Pay Songwriters About $150 Million Less Next Year (www.billboard.com)

When Bloomberg reported that Spotify would be upping the cost of its premium subscription from $9.99 to $10.99, and including 15 hours of audiobooks per month in the U.S., the change sounded like a win for songwriters and publishers. Higher subscription prices typically equate to a bump in U.S. mechanical royalties — but not...

That's a horrible idea, anyway. Then you get Kamala Harris, and fucking nobody wants Kamala Harris as POTUS. She's the ultimate assassination insurance.

And Biden is gone, anyway. Brain no worky. If the Democrats were smart they'd push him out & run somebody else; time is running out.

    CoffeeJunkie ,

...this is how people outside the industry learn what's going on, possible explanations for it. 🤨 Otherwise everybody's just perpetually in the dark.

Also, he didn't say anything bad about UPS, just a bad part of bad software.

Well they were built like a fucking brick. I respect it.

    CoffeeJunkie , (edited )

Scooby-Doo was cut, there's a lot of race swapping, and basically it follows Velma who is an amazing girl-boss (/s) who solves all the mysteries, and everybody else is just kind of "around". There seems to be a lot of resentment of anyone who is wealthier, more successful, or popular. Fred is a punching bag for a lot of jokes, he's just a rich white boy who doesn't really know how to do anything.

Papa Meat (Hunter Hancock of MeatCanyon) has a review. It's pretty balanced, but even that's still negative, mainly rated high as it was because he liked the art. 😅

Apparently, despite a seemingly horrendous reception by the public, it has been renewed for a second season. ¯\(°_o)/¯

    CoffeeJunkie ,

I agree with your assessment, I maybe should have included an '/s' after amazing girl boss. That's the image she has of herself, that's how she carries herself. Like an insufferable, pathologically egotistical narcissist with hallucinatory delusions and severe mommy issues would do. 🙂

I'll go ahead & add the /s, why not?

    CoffeeJunkie ,

It doesn't necessarily matter. Did you watch South Park: Into The Panderverse or whatever it's called? I can only find this super short cut down clip of Eric Cartman's nightmare he's explaining to his psychiatrist

It misses the most important line: and finally I wanna scream, and I was like, "WHY ARE THEY REPLACING EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER WITH SOMEONE WHO IS DIVERSE??"

It's weird, it's hokey, these remakes look & feel very forced, agenda driven. I ask for more than original characters; I want actually new fucking ideas. New stories! We're not seeing very many of those lately; we're getting re-skinned versions of established characters, they just cut off their face & wear it around, and we're supposed to act like we don't notice. If we do notice, we're racist, or sexist, some -ist or -phobe. No, your work is just a lazy, contrived retell of a story that was already told pretty well. Wrapped up nice & neat with a bow on top.

Personally I'm not super invested in the whole debacle, and I simply choose to not see the new stuff & remakes. I'm an adult man, I have no kids, anyway. No dog in this fight. It's alright. If it's truly better and/or a fantastic story, it will probably bear out at the box office & I'll hear about how what an incredible movie it is.

    CoffeeJunkie ,

My intent didn't carry & I'm not known to be the best communicator. 🤙🏻

    CoffeeJunkie ,

If we're arguing semantics over a group of people, what they stand for & what the definition is, the label coming to represent a group of undesirables that you must now accept whether you like it or not....damn near everyone should be ashamed. ¯\(°_o)/¯

    CoffeeJunkie ,

Idk what all the world leaders have & haven't done, but I know we've made great progress in green technology. Compared to 2009, we're poised to more than double the efficiency of solar panels & the installation price per watt has fallen from $8.50 to $2.77. Bigger, better, better understood...and also cheaper.

This is what you want to see if you want the whole world adopting renewable energy sources.

    CoffeeJunkie ,

...that's not even true. 🤨 The boycott holds. It was entirely too simple, to pick up a different beer instead of another. They overplayed their hand. Admittedly there's just a number of them that were not well informed enough to be effective; they switched to another piss beer owned by the same parent company (AB-InBev).

They lost a lot of money & there was even a call to hold the line until x # of months in, so the brand is not picked up for reorder, loses shelf space in retail. Modelo Especial has overtaken Bud Light as the #1 beer in America, and I don't think that's changed. Ironically Modelo is brewed, sold by AB-InBev globally...but not in the US. It's not good times for AB-InBev; they recently sold off 8 brands to a Canadian weed company.

There have been numerous attempts to woo conservatives to end the boycott. Funny ads, football player ad, manly ads with Harley Davidson & horses & American flags. But no formal apology has been issued, which is what most of the boycotters are calling for. Now they're going to the opposite extreme & giving a sponsorship to Shane Gillis, who's basically the anti-Dylan Mulvaney. So idk what'll happen to the boycott now! It'll be an interesting watch. 🍿😃🍿

    CoffeeJunkie ,

Well, the 2-Day shipping guarantee was fucking destroyed through pandemic/online shopping & stimmy checks. We just hit crazy peaks of rampant consumerism & the guarantee couldn't easily be honored.

    CoffeeJunkie ,

It just takes some forethought, some planning, and yeah maybe some "going without" for just a few days. But it can be done! Fuck Bezos.

    CoffeeJunkie ,

Ah yes, they claim it's "for your convenience", "keep shopping!", "any order you place in (x # of) days will ship for free with this order". I'm perfectly fine with it, honestly; I online shop exclusively in the slow lane. Free, but slow, shipping? Fine by me. 🐌

I guess SJW lost its hard left coding with the younger generations? 🤨 I read this & it didn't make sense because the left was almost always the SJW, would fight for trans.

    CoffeeJunkie ,

Agreed, GoDaddy can suck an entire warehouse of cocks. It's important you know the basic context, because in a weird way this can be considered history.

This is another Trump Derangement Syndrome type post. Remember when Trump got kicked off of Twitter & other social media platforms? Conservatives & Republicans said FINE, we'll make our own social media platform! With blackjack! And hookers! Parler was born.

...but Amazon & I guess GoDaddy, too, decided after Parler was built that they wanted nothing to do with Parler. So they yanked out the infrastructure, the hosting & servers, that Parler was built on. Parler was unable to function. Liberals rejoiced & jeered, conservatives were understandably distraught.

Somehow Truth Social exists, via Mastodon & some weird-ass open source structure. Nobody cares about Truth Social, though.

Basically this post is mocking the Republicans, conservatives for feeble attempts to grassroots build an internet presence. And not having robust contingency plans in place, and owning every step of the process, to ensure it could not be disrupted or fucked with.

    CoffeeJunkie ,

It's not good for the car, either. Cars aren't meant to idle; cars are made to have all fluids moving & the car rolling down the road.

I treat my car to a gentle warm-up when it's cold outside; I start the car & start driving, but only 20-30 mph for the first 5-8 minutes. All the components of the car are gently being used, are slowly warming up, together. I think my car runs better for it.
