People keep insisting that the populace would win a war of populace against state... maybe it would, I don't know and it's not the problem.

The problem is a war of half the populace against the state and the other half of the populace. Fascism is carried into power by popular demand, it's not like one day they just appear on the levers of power and have to put up with a revolting population. They will have been put there by the population, and it will be the better armed half of the population.

Ya, I don't speak any Spanish really, but I have committed their songs to memory, because they speak directly to my heart.

If that were entirely true, a "power bottom" would make no sense.

The terms sexual usage originated in gay circles where it only delineates who penetrates and who gets penetrated. Traditional views on sex ascribe a submissive or passive role to the bottom and an active or dominating role to the top, but you can totally have a power bottom who takes control and an active role in the intercourse but is the one getting penetrated.

In 1919, Benito Mussolini united various groups in the then Kingdom of Italy to form the Fasci di combattimento. During the Biennio rosso (1919-1921), the Black Shirts used targeted terror against striking industrial workers, the Partito Socialista Italiano (PSI) and all opposition. As a result, local and regional anti-fascist groups as well as vigilante groups emerged from 1920 onwards, encompassing the entire political spectrum, from Catholics and liberals to socialists and anarchists.

It was open to anarchists, communists, social democrats, Christians and bourgeois republicans. However, the leadership of the PSI and the Partito Comunista Italiano (PCI) rejected the League. It remained limited to a few thousand members and a few cities.[3] This was the first organization with an explicitly anti-fascist self-image. Its supporters referred to themselves as antifascisti[4].

Composed of Italian anarchists, socialists, and communists, the Arditi del Popolo were not supported by leftist parties (neither by the Italian Socialist Party, PSI, nor by the Communist Party of Italy, PCd'I).

Furthermore, the PCd'I ordered its members to quit the organization because of the presence of non-communists in its ranks.[8] The PCd'I organized by themselves some militant groups (the Squadre comuniste d'azione), but their actions were relatively minor and the party kept a non-violent, legalist strategy.

The Antifaschistische Aktion grew in the soil of the SPD and KPD in Nazi Germany (which themselves where not autoritarians or tankies at the time), but it's roots are older, decidedly anti-authoritarian and open to the entire political spectrum that wanted to fight fascism.

Edit: Antifascism is represented by a red and a black flag. How you could ever think is has anything to do with the authoritarian left when it's roots are so extremely anarchist is beyond me.

I was very very lucky.

I turned 26 when I heard myself coughing like a 66 year old chainsmoker with cancerous lungs, found I was unable to run up stairs and out of breath after carrying groceries inside. I had to have a cig every morning so I would be able to have a shit at all, but if I did... that first drag sent me rushing to the bathroom, it got so bad, I had to light the first one while sitting on the loo, or i'd shit my pants.

That's when I found myself disgusted with myself. I stopped, I simply stopped. From 38 cigarettes per day to 0. I am so happy it worked, because I am a very easily tempted personality and tend towards addiction in anything that gives my brain pleasure.

It took a year before I completely stopped coughing and two years before I could run up those stairs again, but one day I simply realized "Oh my! I'm not out of breath. What... what happened? Oh, yeah I quit smoking! Damn this feels nice!"

Your grandma is not (necessarily - I don't know her, she could be trafficking people) a bad person, but her beliefs and that of so many others who also are good (at least they might be) people provide the fertile ground for the growth of an agressive weed. It's not the grounds fault, it could be growing strawberries instead, but right now its existence nourishes a strangling vine that bears poisonous fruit.

We definetly should not poison the ground to kill the weed, though that certainly is a way to get rid of it. But we absolutely need to prevent it from spreading, new fields should not be infected by it and with the exhaution of the old places of growth, we might manage to extinct it.

That's why it is important to keep in mind that your grandma is (most likely) okay to just exist as a believer, but that the beliefs she holds are roots of something, that must not spread.

Bah, if a theoretical agent had any interaction with reality, we should find evidence of some kind of interaction. If we don't then there are three possibilities: 1. It doesn't exist, 2. It doesn't interact with reality. If it doesn't interact with reality, it isn't real in any meaningfull way. If it isn't real, it doesn't exist. 3. We can't find where and how it interacts with reality, in that case it is the ever diminishing god of the gaps.

Hmmm... I don't think it is proof either. But it is imho the strongest possible indication of nonexistence.

For me to accept the possible existence of something, the possibility would have to be shown first. And I am at the moment convinced that the existence of anything without interaction with reality is impossible. Because I think existence is defined by interaction with reality.

Everything else would be apart, seperate from reality: not real.

Rights are what a community agrees on that they should have. I'm happy my community has agreed that owning guns is a priviledge, not a right. There is no sufficient reason owning guns should be a right, so I can be completely in favour of rights and freedoms without including any right to own guns.

Not necessarily. And I don't think you meant it like this could be read.

You can absolutely be pro something but recognize the downsides of it. You can be pro vaxxination, but be critical of how the government handles rollout, you can be pro EV but still remain convinced that the resources needed for batteries are (at the moment) produced using child labor and causing environmental destruction. Constructive critique is valid and necessary.

People don't need to be fanboys, sitting on the fence is completely okay in regards to many topics.

What I think you meant to criticise (please correct me if I'm wrong) is that lots of invalid critique and unreasonable opposition hides behind a thin veneer of "I'm actually in favor of {x}" and yes, we're all sick of it.

    For the average German in your average City that's somewhere between just short of wealthy and wealthy. There are poorly paid IT specialists who earn gross what you would take home net. It's definitely enough that you can live quite good if your significant other works too and more than enough to raise a family. The median household income in Germany is 42k gross.

    Also remember this is only the employee side of what you cost your employer, because they'll have to double up your insurances, so you would cost them 75k a year.
