This is the answer... But don't tell the prudes, please.

Does ants on a log count? Asking for a friend.

So my company pays for Adobe, and I fucking hate it. I have to re-sign in multiple times a day because I own and use daily two personal computers, and my work computer.

They only allow two at a time, so it's just a constant hassle of entering authentication numbers.

People who steal this software literally have a better experience than I do.

They were the best, the best, the best bootlickers.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Yeah I heard some of them had the gall to use the actual restroom on work hours. Like, get yourself a bigger bottle, and some better bootstraps! Amirite?

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Only the douchebags shall do this. So say we all. Yay Internet.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Yo, guys. How is deadaim doing these days?

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

This is a good point. The cyber truck is never going to be successfully used by their idiot owners for anything but driving around on streets, hauling nothing.

Those that attempt otherwise, are shown the error of their ways.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Lol, people find the silliest things to be angry and indignant about.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Wow, that is a very pessimistic view you've brought into this thread about a cute and funny comic.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

I think they're just trying to point out that not all dogs are like the one you've experienced.

It's entirely valid to not like them, but genuinely hating all of them on principal does seem kind of overboard.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

He just couldn't work out what to do with the sticks. Insisting the sticks not be moved from where they fell was ultimately the problem, if you ask me.

I think this is public information on some services. Not Lemmy, but other federated services.

Plants never complain, unlike all of us whiny primates. In a way, they could be far more moral creatures than anything else we're aware of.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

In glad we got to the bottom of this. People. People is the right answer, everyone.

That's a load off my mind! Let's start a company. Maybe we can name it after what we're saving. Something like... Soylent green?

I heard the next version of Windows will ravage your whole family, and the only solution is to immediately wipe all of your computers and install Linux.

It's too late for me, since I hesitated. Bill's already outside. If only I listened to the obnoxious, uninvited, endless evangelism of the Linux userbase!

Woe is us, the users of the evil platform! Woe!!1!

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Lol, it's not even a feature yet... And when it is, it will almost certainly come as an optional feature you need to opt into.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Or you know, you can just not turn it on.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

The Linux evangelists always jump on this stuff without reading the articles. Do not be alarmed by them. This is currently just a beta feature that Microsoft is still testing.

If Microsoft announces that this is going to be forcibly installed on all versions of Windows, then we can grab our pitchforks. Ideally this would end up being an opt-in feature. If it's an opt-out when they release, again, pitchforks.

For now? Give them feedback if you're worried, otherwise move on with your day and do nothing.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

This is conjecture. Maybe we should wait before we make assumptions? Am I being too logical for /c/technology?

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

It's amazing how spiteful the Linux folks are... Look at all those downvotes on this.

You bring up an incredibly good point here. I can't think of any large business that would allow this. This almost guarantees that this feature will not be mandatory, to say the very least.

This said, I'd not want this on my work computer. I'd be concerned it could become a slippery slope of monitoring employees in the name of efficiency.

Lucy was so bad... Like, it was genuinely a terrible movie.

She did great in the roles, though.

@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Linus Torvalds, creator of Linux, does not believe in cryptocurrencies, calling them a vehicle for scams and a Ponzi scheme.

To be fair, that's because Crypto is a vehicle for scams, and a Ponzi scheme.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

A bad one, at that. I think the reason many governments are going with it is because it's far less untraceable than some idiots like to believe.

@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Gold is actually used as a critical component in the creation of computers and other vitally important industries.

Samsung doesn't use child labor in China to make their phones. Why again are they worse?

Lucidlethargy ,

A check has your checking account number on it. Please don't write checks. Use cash.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

What are you buying that's $5,000? Seriously, wtf?

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

It's to counter the racism, biggotry, and xenophobia present in pockets of American culture.

These shitty types of people avoid or hide within large cities - everyone is typically fine in these places. But small towns can sometimes have a serious problem with this if they are too "red" (Conservative).

In short, pockets of America are very tribal. People bond over similarities, and their shared disapproval of anything different, or out of the ordinary.

After announcing increased prices, Spotify to Pay Songwriters About $150 Million Less Next Year (www.billboard.com)

When Bloomberg reported that Spotify would be upping the cost of its premium subscription from $9.99 to $10.99, and including 15 hours of audiobooks per month in the U.S., the change sounded like a win for songwriters and publishers. Higher subscription prices typically equate to a bump in U.S. mechanical royalties — but not...

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Stop using this shitty service. There are much better options. I like Tidal, but even Apple music seems decent compared to Spotify.

The audio quality alone should be telling people just how bad spotify is.

I was thinking more a vegetable than a borg drone.

Fun fact: You always use it in the future.

We're not cut off! We have the freedom to go bankrupt and usually get most of the care we need.

I mean, sure, we could die even if we throw all we have at it. But we have the freedom to die! 'Merica!!

Bah, that's a Twitter link. Lemmy on mobile needs a better system for seeing URL's before you click.

I've never understood the logic with the rent. Of course it's cheaper, the weather is shitty and you're stuck in the middle of fucking Texas. Texas is a trash state full of backwards laws and extremists.

PSA: Samsung phones are not made in China. Iphone's sure are, though.

I'm not sure I even own any devices that can't block YouTube ads. You can do it on anything running android, including Android TV.

If they ever fight this and win, I'll simply stop using YouTube altogether.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

No. I've never seen an ad.

You can easily turn these off in lots than a minute according to a quick Google search.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

OP is specifically asking for help with Windows.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

This is such an amazing thread. Thank you to everyone giving good answers!

99/100 posts in Lemmy that mention windows issues are insanely unhelpful moshpits of Linux evangelists jibbering over and over about the solution to every windows problem being "install Linux."

So thank you for these awesome, genuine solutions.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

This seems amazing, thank you for sharing it!

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

You do realize nobody but other Linux users care about this, right? In so tired of seeing people introduce Linux like none of us have ever heard about it.

We are aware of the other operating systems, thank you.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

It's great to see Linux getting better support for games. It still doesn't support many titles, but it's good to see progress.

Lucidlethargy ,
@Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works avatar

Bro, you really should get an ad blocker.

As for windows ads, every single one I've seen referenced so far can be disabled in under a minute by toggling a setting.
