I know a lot of noobs installing random .deb on their devian based distros not knowing how to add sources to apt (only those are added where the app developer has command by command tutorial), well to say it shortly, a mess.
With arch there is just yay and you find everything 🤷🏻‍♀️

On a financial aspect, self hosting is more expensive most of the time, if you convert time to money, even if you calculate using less than 100$ per hour (In my country we charge about 200$ per work hour)

Well, you can calculate how much money you would make in the time you do hobby, entertainment and eating.
And I bet, "everyone" includes some people, that see setting up home/private IT not as hobby, for those people the comparison is like spending time x or paying amount x (data or/and money) (you could compare it to housekeeping)
In such cases it makes sense to give the spent time a value in data or money, so that it is comparable

Maybe you spend time on selfhosting and now you have less time for other things that need to be done and now you have to outsource it (for money) giving time as well calculateable value

Sure, you can compare to what else you would do in that time slot, but money would be the more general thing (you can compare better, since everything is in the base of money)

Back to your example: time spent on each task is equal -> same value invested but output may have different value (game skills/progress vs IT skills/progress)

So since investing value is the same for both task, you can ignore that part and concentrate on the output.

Never really saw a international big player like this.. Here in Switzerland we have twint as alternative, but it is only available on most swiss stores.

Well, stripe is relatively often available as well..

What I wanted to tell is, paypal does not need to be the best payment service for end user, it needs to be the cheapest and easiest service to implement in your store. The store does not care about your data going to paypal, the store only sees the cut they have to gove the payment services.

I‘d recommend endeavorOS, because I like installing from AUR using yay more than installing from https://software.opensuse.org/

But if you don’t like the terminal, go for OpenSuse.

I found the best working linux for me is endeavorOS, which istalls Arch and package manager yay
If you want to install anything just write yay „anything“ and choose what to install from the list (google „aur „answer to anything“ „ to check which answer is the app you want)
For installing proprietary NVIDIA drivers, there is a tool preinstalled (have to google the name) if you really want.

Steam has great Linux support and can run even non steam windows apps through proton
I have not tested overwatch, but you can launch battle.net through steam if you add the exe to your steam library and force proton in the game properties

Edit: just use the app lutris to install battle.net, seems to be the even more easy route

iPhone Storage is encrypted, photos should not reappear if the encryption keys changed. Unless the keys never change, which would be very strange, especially after total reset.

The bits written on mass sorage that are deleted remain there and are just marked as free storage until they get overridden by another file, this is how datarecovery works.
Here, we have a similar case, where iOS hat a problem deleting the file from storage but managed to remove it from photos app index (storage is not marked as free, file could still be accessed if we had root file access but the link which pointed the photos app to the picture got removed). Now after some time, it can happen that the photo somehow gets detected (most likely as a safety measurement so that user don’t lose a picture if said link gets corrupted) and instead of deleting the file, de link gets repaired.

(Warning only a noob assumption)

Yes, it should, but is mostly not done. But better approach is to use an encrypted filesystem like iOS and macOS(only with fileVault enabled) does. You can not recover encrypted data.

What happened here did not happen to phones that got wiped but only to phones where one logged logged off iCloud and logged into new iCloud account. Still the same encryption keys for filesystem.

There is no proof that it ever happened to a phone that was wiped completely.

Performing secure wipes reduces the lifetime of the storage device, if you sell a PC with removable storage device, it is better to just replace it with a new one for selling, and of course use fileVault on mac, bitlocker on windows and LUKS on linux (of course on linux there are more ways and LUKS is a partition and not a filesystem)
