iPhones are great. No messing around, way more private than stock Google, and they work for… well, I’m on five years with mine. Still gets updates too!

Jesus. I’m at just above two hours for my weekly average. It used to be 8-10 hours daily when I had a job where I had to leave my house, go into an office, and not do any work. Now that I do the same thing but from home, I don’t need to use my phone as much.

I’m here to defend pickles!

We use a quick-pickle recipe, we can make six to eight big jars in under two hours. Even using mediocre cucumbers, they’re WAYYYY better than anything you can buy in stores. You get jars of slices, spears, little pickles if ya want… Pickle diversity! Way less money, too.

The rest of the things you’ve listed I agree with.

All of the other things require so much more effort and time for similar results.

Pickles take not much time and effort and are insanely better and less expensive than picking up a jar at the store.

I never claimed it’s faster or easier, I’m just saying it doesn’t take anywhere near as much time or effort to make infinitely better pickles than to make bread, shave using a safety razor, MAKING FURNITURE?! etc.

I don’t know why you’re so defensive, it’s just… I love good pickles, and they’re easy to make. It’s not in the same world as the other stuff ya listed.

People here fucking haaaaate Apple. As a person with servers, a bunch of computers I’ve built myself, and an iPhone/iPad… it’s quite funny to me.

Heavily disagree when it comes to their phones and tablets. They’re top-tier lil machines with insane lifespans and they’re priced accordingly. I’m using an iPhone XS Max still—how old is that, five years? Still fully supported, original battery lasts all day.

For tablets, I don’t even have to justify anything. No Android tablets come close.

You might be right about computers, though—I haven’t kept up with those! I still use a 2011 MacBook Pro, just swapped the optical drive out for a solid state drive, and maxed out the RAM. That fucker was expensive originally (2.2k USD retail, but I got it for a steal cuz my old laptop got warrantied to death) but fuck me if it doesn’t still run wonderfully for being 13 years old. Doesn’t update to latest OSX though, which sucks.

I gotta say, I love my AirBuds sooooo much. I only use my nice cans on my computer anymore.

That’s a different use case though. Falling asleep with cheap speakers is a much better idea than big speakers… My partner and I leave shows or long VODs on to sleep, and even with the bass all the way down, sometimes I feel like it’s a bit distracting.

You’re onto something—I should snag us a pair of 2.0 speakers and just switch to those for sleep. Then we wouldn’t have to adjust the sub all the time.
