I hella feel that but re: phone on my end. I have tons of Windows machines and a couple Linux boxes and I don’t want to have to muck about with my phone with custom ROMs or… anything.

I don’t want to think about my phone. I’ve got a five year old iPhone that runs like the day I got it, and I’ve got all of my texts from 10 years ago and 20k+ photos. I’ve never reformatted it.

Apple gets a lot of hate on Lemmy but damn are their phones exactly what I want.

So I’m quite new to this, and searching around hasn’t been to clear… if I’m looking to have my own E-mail domain, do I buy a domain in addition to subscribing to an E-mail… service… thing?

Thank you very much! I’ll look into snagging a domain and setting up like, Bluehost or Proton. I use Proton’s free tier now, but it looks like it’s about 3x as much for their good E-mail plan compared to Bluehost.

    That’s what I LOVED about it! I know it’s a super unpopular opinion, but it felt so much more rewarding to find something halfway decent. Like it did in Diablo II.

    Post-expansion it took a couple hours to fully gear a char, then every Primal Ancient Holy Mega Sickass Ancient Legendary was like “maybe I can go up another grift yawn” to me.

    I feel like with the rise of AI something that anonymizes writing styles should exist. For example it could look for differences in American versus British spelling like color versus colour or contextual things like soccer versus football and make edits accordingly.     I’ve got three Linux machines, six? Maybe seven? Windows machines, and I love the shit outta my iPhone. I was a first-adopter of Android with the Dream and loved it. But when I realized iPhones can last for 5-6 years with full updates AND STILL BE FAST with no effort, reformatting, or thinking about them… that’s all I want from a phone.

    That and the privacy is better. It’s not perfect, but it’s lightyears better than ANYTHING google.

    But on Lemmy, that makes me a baby toddler noob that knows nothing about computers, because if I just got this google device and did all of these mods to it and installed all this software and maintained it and BRAINED HARDER I could have a similar experience to my five year old iPhone
