I used to love Ubiquiti but they're turning into cunts these days. I also heard there's been a lot of people leave and low morale due to the enshitification of the products.

I've since put OpenWRT onto my ERX and ER4. Will likely put it on the UAP-LC next to get rid of it entirely.

Which is which? Because I've seen some show science for keeping cats indoors but I've shared two studies based in the UK that show cats are better outdoors. Like I say it's based on geography too. As some people have pointed out cats have been a wild species in the UK for millenia. So them being outdoors here isn't an issue.

I'm shit at navigating and anything with the "g" command. I never bothered learning that.

I feel like Emacs is going to suffer with the prevalence of window managers that are shortcut heavy. I looked at learning Emacs but the keyboard shortcuts all interfere with Awesome so it's a nightmare. The only way I'd manage is by switching TTY to terminal with Ctrl+Alt+F-key which kinda ruins it!

Seiko are great watches. I have a couple of G-Shock watches and a Garmin heart rate monitor watch. The Garmin is kinda like a smart watch but more practical. It's got all the sports stuff you'd ever need but GPS too. It makes for an excellent daily-driver watch.

I find HRM watches to be very handy. I can tell from checking my heart rate whether I need to slow down my running speed. I can tell if I start running for something how long I'll last by checking my heart rate. If it's in the "anabolic zone" I'll crap out in a few minutes. If it's in the "aerobic zone" I'll crap out when my body gives up.

It's also been handy for monitoring my general fitness. Resting heart rate, steps, floors travelled, etc. I recommend the Garmin Fenix if you ever wanna try out a 'Smart watch' again: https://www.garmin.com/en-GB/p/641479

I don't think AI is necessary. Reddit was able to find all my alt accounts pretty easily years back. Now I'm banned I can't even sign up without the new account being banned in a few days for trying to circumvent it.

The tough thing is Mac laptops are the best

They're not. I had a 2008 Unibody Macbook pro. In 2012 it literally fell apart. That was after 4 years of constantly hearing about recalls and fixes pushed by Apple for bad hardware fuckups.

During a search to find a fix for the snapped display frame I came across Louis Rossman who showed in multiple teardowns how poorly made Macbooks are.

It was a HUGE eye-opener. Macs are NOT well made. They have a fuck-ton of terrible design decisions.

They look nice but they're shit.

E.g. my Lenovo P51 looks like a plasticy piece of shit. But I can pour a full bottle of water over the keyboard and drop it from head height but it will still work and will continue working for the next 15yrs+. Because it's built to last.

Even Apple doesn't have confidence in it's products forcing you to buy Apple Care to extend a warranty that other laptop manufacturers give you free. I think my P51 had a free 3 or 5yr warranty. My Macbook's was 1yr.
