@c10l EVE’s Energy have been providing energy metering under Matter for the last few months.

Ok, it was a HA specific solution.

    Cela dépend du serveur DHCP/DNS. Sur ma Fritzbox le nom était: “d0fef586960d4e3fad76d5a38d846fa4-hap.fritz.box”. Je devais donc d’abord le renommer.

    kind of Smart Kitchen Hood

    This is a followup of my last post where I was looking for a solution to our problem with smell coming from the kitchen hood (extractor) when neighobour is cooking. I got many good suggestions, but @Finlsolo963 pointed me to Shut-off Damper with motor that looks like perfect fit. I hope it can stop the smell completely in closed...

    As far as I can see, you can’t use the position of the sun as trigger.

    Yes, I was referring to schedules where you cannot use the sun. Sun related automations work very reliably for me.

    Need help converting dumb switches; one w/o any lights, one w/ Hue bulbs

    I'm looking for a smart home solution use two switches in my living room (EU), in order to make them just smart enough so I can control some devices. The setup isn't very complex in itself, and I'm pretty sure it's doable - I'm just unsure what I'd need in order to use these switches in a 'smart' capacity......

    In European countries you only have live wire, never the ground, neutral in newer installations.
    The switches don’t need ground as there is no exposed metallic component. Ground is needed where a human could be exposed to live (due to a fault) as it would trigger the breaker.

    Share your favorite automations

    I've been running HA for a while, and it's been working well; I haven't had to change much in a few months. That being said, it's fun to tinker with it, and I'm curious to hear what kind of automations the rest of the community is using. What automations are you most proud of? What are your favorite? What kind of interesting...

    Shelly Pro 1PM that I had lying around. Reports Amps usage fast enough to allow me to cut off electrical heating before the breaker cuts off because of overload.
    This results in washer and heating alternating their power usage without triggering the breaker.

    Resetting Timers

    I have a bunch of presence and motion sensors (like four, but shush) and when people leave rooms I would like to turn the lights off after five minutes, however if someone returns to the room before that five minutes is up, I'd like to start that countdown again. Is there a grateful way to do this that isn't me just doing if no...

    claude_flammang ,

    @sabreW4K3
    Create a timer that you set to 5 minutes.
    Create an automation with 3 triggers:

    1. Motion is detected
    2. Motion clear
    3. Timer changes to idle

    Choice of three actions:

    When 1:
    Switch light on
    Cancel timer (this takes care of motion being detected again during the 5 minute delay)

    When 2:
    Start timer (And let’s wait for 5. Minutes for timer to end)

    When 3:
    Check that motion is clear (as motion also cancels the timer)
    If so, switch light off

    @barbarosa
    For all those sensors (temp, current etc.) I always prefix the entity ID and friendly name with the area name.
    I create areas like “kitchen fridge” or “garage fridge” to keep my stuff organized.

    If yo use ZHA, you might try increasing the timeout for batterie powered devices in Network settings of ZHA integration
