    the thing is, Ive been using its crypto features for freelancing and everything went smoothly till date (been using it for 1 year). If you term crypto in general is scam, thats different thing

    The plus point is, telegrams client is open source, so you can always make a client which is less bloated (I am sure there are plenty already in the market).

    Well telegram is already profitable with showing minimal ad, and no user data selling. You just can't make up points that going for IPO will make them less secure, why so much rush? Just wait and watch what happens.

    I never got with these russian authority claims. Telegram is not based in russia, sure its founders are born in russia but they have taken citizenship of France for a long time now, its based in saudi arabia. I never saw a single proof of them giving data to russian authorities, they were banned in russia for that iirc but eventually got unbanned due to mass adoption. At this point these russian claims just seem racism to me.

    2. They really didn't care, they are banned in Iran too which is their 3rd biggest market. They got unbanned because Russia failed to unban it, there are no cases known yet in which telegram handed over users data to Russian authorities

    I use telegram mostly because it have great features and its certainly better than any meta apps in privacy and private enough imo. It was easy to get my friends and family on telegram because they loved those features, signal is just... boring.

    Sure, but we have to consider what other people wants too, and if they are getting alot of feature in a single app without any big compromise, they would prefer that and thats perfectly logical.

    e2ee by default only for your data to be used when you back it up. Atleast there have been no data breaches reported in telegram so far

    only if you are terrorist or do some CP stuff. Besides there are ton of reasons why I should use telegram.
    Its a lot more featureful, its easy for people to move their and its secure enough for me because I am not a terrorist and I dont sell drugs, thanks.

    OTOH telegram gives you option to export your whatsapp chats there making migration a bit more convenient.
    For the last point, yeah it sucks a lot and fuck whoever is responsible for that...

    Its better than signal in every aspect except privacy (still better than whatsapp in that and arguably a secure messaging app).

    It can sustain big public groups (upto 200k peoples),
    channels with unlimited subscribers,
    unlimited cloud storage (files upto 4gb, synced across devices),
    powerful bots,
    web apps,
    native crypto support,
    you can do pretty much anything within the app (literally a superapp),
    heaven for pirates,
    stickers, video calls, live streams, etc.
    unlimited devices could be signed up for one account,
    messages sync across devices,
    free with minimal ads, premium to get more features,
    completely run by users support and ad platform, no external entity involved.
    secret chats for end 2 end encryption chats and much more.

    users can do that already on fediverse..? Additionally admins have power to block servers they wish, that gives much control and is a lot better, dont see the advantage bluesky is pretending to have.

    The subcontinent should never have become a single country

    They got divided? India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar. Being together isnt the issue, thats our one of the biggest strength that we made a nation with people who had very much different cultures. This time, nationalists are using emotions of depressed, poor peoples to get votes and do their thing, time will come and people will become aware.
