I wouldn't call Google search "good" any more. It is just full of SEO links and Reddit.

Google made it invite only when people actually wanted to try it. Then when people got tired of waiting and no longer interested, Google tried to push it to everyone.

I'm really annoyed by how much Brave Search is pushing AI

I've been using Brave Search supplemented by Startpage for the past 2+ years. When I search for something, I want to get results for credible webpages, not a summary of unknown quality. I liked the previous AI inclusion because it was instant, didn't take up much space, and I could quickly navigate to the websites referenced in...

Find a cheap hosting solution that provides a fixed IP address, then host your own VPN or proxy server there.

Edit: if you use a non-standard port for the VPN, it should be less likely to be blocked.

Can we all agree that whatever version of predictive text we have nowadays is crap, and has been for a long time?

I'm sick of random capitalisations mid sentence. I'm sick of common words being replaced by less common ones or even downright nonsense. I'm sick of it taking three attempts to successfully get the word I want. I swear it's been like this for five years or more. Can we have a better version yet, or at least the old one back?

Elon Musk says it's his turn to have the remote (www.engadget.com)

[Xitter] just announced a smart TV app for streaming video. Or, more accurately, that it claims it's building one, with absolutely no launch date mentioned. The appropriately-named [Xitter] TV wants to be “your go-to companion for a high-quality, immersive entertainment experience on a larger screen.”

Yeah that's especially annoying when the original narrator is the best.

If they only have a support team for Windows, then it makes sense to use Windows only for all their devices. If they deploy a different OS, then they need to either hire a new support team, or train the existing team for the new OS. Either way would be more expensive than the licensing fees.

Or take away Adobe and use an alternative.

Microsoft to separate Teams and Office globally amid antitrust scrutiny (www.reuters.com)

Microsoft (MSFT.O) will sell its chat and video app Teams separately from its Office product globally, the U.S. tech giant said on Monday, six months after it unbundled the two products in Europe in a bid to avert a possible EU antitrust fine.

20 years on, I still prefer folders instead of labels. And I still don't want messages group as "conversations."

It used to be free 1GB of mailbox storage that kept expanding for free. Now there is a hard limit unless you pay.

Yeah the worst part of it is that the version on Google Play is actually the older version.

They are shown on the update page for Google's benefits only. This is anti customer.

That sucks. Time to find an alternative.

I find Shorts to be quite appealing for specific kinds of material. There was a time when YouTube mandated creators to produce lengthy videos, which often led to unnecessary filler content. However, Shorts eliminate that issue by necessitating creators to be concise and direct.

Here are a few types of Shorts that I enjoy:

  • Cats and dogs
  • Lawyers reactions
  • Fun facts
  • Skits
  • All
  • Subscribed
  • Moderated
  • Favorites
  • incremental_games
  • meta
  • All magazines
