Didn't iPhone been doing it for years so you can still track your lost phone even if it's turned off?

But this is Android, I'm sure there'll be work around if you don't want it. Personally I think it could be helpful.

cordlesslamp ,

Thanks, this actually helpful.

cordlesslamp ,

Right, Google definitely a man of their words. Like they are definitely not record anything in your Incognito Chrome tabs.

Pixel Pass

Killed 8 months ago, Pixel Pass was a program that allowed users to pay a monthly charge for their Pixel phone and upgrade immediately after two years. It was almost 2 years old.

LOL so no one got their upgrade? What a fucking joke.

And simultaneously can't find the piece of ham I dropped in front of their nose.

Roku explores taking over HDMI feeds with ads (www.lowpass.cc)

Roku is exploring ways to show consumers ads on its TVs even when they are not using its streaming platform: The company has been looking into injecting ads into the video feeds of third-party devices connected to its TVs, according to a recent patent filing.  ...

Those kinds of brands would never want to associate their ads with adult content. So instead what you'll get is ads from scammers or shady business, like "make $600 a day from home", or "horny MILF in your area", or "penile enlargement cream ".

Court Bans Use of 'AI-Enhanced' Video Evidence Because That's Not How AI Works (gizmodo.com)

A judge in Washington state has blocked video evidence that’s been “AI-enhanced” from being submitted in a triple murder trial. And that’s a good thing, given the fact that too many people seem to think applying an AI filter can give them access to secret visual data.

I just hope it's not plague with micro transactions like the previous version.

I have never played golf. But I enjoy VR mini golf way more than I would like to admit. It's so fun and creative.

cordlesslamp ,

My friends said mini golf is for children and laugh when I asked to try it out. I'm 30yo tho, so yeah they might be right about that.

cordlesslamp ,

Quick, contribute your $34 so he can get a raise next year.

Stainless steel body is cool and all. But just plain metal sheets, no coats, no paint, untreated? What the hell are they thinking? Stainless steel are not magic, they have limitations.

cordlesslamp ,

It doesn't work for me on multiple occasions. Sometimes it works, sometimes it won't, I don't know what's the problems.

cordlesslamp ,

I can tell that you're being sarcastic. But if I'm playing ranked match on my phone, it's always with an Ethernet dongle. Way more reliable and definitely lower latency.

cordlesslamp ,

I don't have a gaming computer (i7 3770K with integrated graphics from 2012)

cordlesslamp ,

These stupid headlines. Just like when iPhone 15 switch to USB-C and there's tons of bullshit like "Millions of lightning cables and accessories will become e-waste", like all the previous iPhones will disappear over night or something.

What even the point of making laws and regulations if corporate can just force you to waive all your rights?

cordlesslamp , (edited )

I still can't comprehend why American just accepting that "lobbyists" are a normal thing.

Isn't that literally bribery in broad daylight to influence laws making decisions? And the fact that a corporate can "sponsor" politicians. You're supposed to making those laws to keep the corporate in line, not taking their handout.

Are there any other countries with the same "lobbying" practice?

Actually not a bad deal at all, consider the current SSD prices.

Why so much hate post about discord lately? What's happened?

Adblocker will die when there's no more ads to see.

If it's cardboard or paper, they could just fold it. Use something they can't fold, like acrylic sheet or super brittle paper-like that would crumble or break if folded.

What about using self-disappearing ink? LoL

One thing came to mind, Irreplaceable infrastructure computer systems from decades ago.

There are powerplants and oil rigs that use computer from decades ago which is irreplaceable (either due to technical or cost effective).

cordlesslamp ,

LoL wth? You're misunderstood the post.

When you reloading a gun, always turn the firearm sideways to have a better view of the chamber, and thus increase precision and reduce time.

Even if what he did was legit, then cutting the cube into a cylinder would be a smarter choice. Maybe not even a full cylinder, an octagon or something like that would have roll fine and saved so much work.
