Not niche there can be times when you want to run something heavy and it auto kills the exact thing you are trying to run. You have a 1gb ram device and it kills everything? Thats undesirable

It makes system unresponsive, true. But its still running the main things, the render or decompressing or whatever. So it eventually unfreezes when it completes, by giving other programs(including GUI) back the CPU and ram.

Well yeah. If you want features that screws up user privacy, then its already bad to do it that way. Use js obfuacation and webassembly so thay you can hide the js running, make more and more of device info availiable to the websites you use so that they can have a tiny little featute at the cost of privacy, etc.

I mean, if your manufacturer installed USB ports the wrong way, you have to get familiar to know which direction the ports face(the wrong way if ports are wrong), then you only have to see the usb since you already know the ports

Inclusive umbrella term. It means the software has to be both free and open source. Open source does jot imply free and free does not imply open source. It requires the software to be both. Practically almost all open source apps are free and vice versa with few exceptions

What does a free country mean? One having no value of money? Its english's fault that two different words can have exact same spelling and pronounciation. Most other languages have distinct terms for the two "free"s

Original owner cam have control with GPL, that is control that someone else does not make it proprietary. This relies on copyright. Many open licenses have attribution requirement, which means derivative works should credit whoever contributed to it. So it is indeed ownership but pte declared that anyone can use the code. They still have ownership but not the proprietary kind of ownership

FSF DO NOT try to define free as in freedom as only meaning of free. But in context of software, free software means Libre. That is the point. And of course in english free takes context dependent meaning,and software can be either type of free. So it should be rigorously defined.

Anyway I can't find synonyms for theese two free in english, what are they?

Unrestricted or permissive does not look good to me. Free software can have restrictive licensing, like GPL. It has restriction which makes free software always free. You really know there are so called "permissive" licenses which do not have this. The word free shows the importance of freedom in sodtware which other terms fails to address

Hhuh? Open source is not free. Its entirely different ideology. You can't call it open source. Also open source have this same issue that people perveive it as software with "source availiable". Is that dumb mnemonics? I think not!

People cannot understand a "new" ideology from the name itself. Hence they have to define it and popularise it. Free takes meaning in context and they have to make context in terms of software as free as in freedom.

Yes I did this less than a week ago.

I shrinked the windows main partition(the C: drive) to like only 70gb since i don't want to use it at all, then made a live usb and go with custom partition selection. Then you have to give certain partitions for linux. The /boot/efi should be selected as windows boot partition so both show up in bootloader.

Then you have to create a root and swap partition atleast, and you can have seperate home partition if you want tp install different linux distro without losing data in first linux.

Its more likely caching. They just keep the cache of files opened earlier so that its ready for you if you need it immediately again. Also unused ram is wasted ram

Yes it won't count used ram. But the other person has a "feeling" that linux uses the same ram even when he quit the apps. So that may count.

Use RAM efficiently. There is no point in freeing all ram
