It would be a lie to say i didnt see this coming. Its 1984 we just cant see it yet.

muntedcrocodile , to Technology in Night-vision lenses so thin and light that we can all see in the dark

Surly u can adapt to the change given enough practice.

muntedcrocodile , to Technology in Night-vision lenses so thin and light that we can all see in the dark

Huh guess a bit more training and u can totally remove the fibre optic flipping which if i recall correctly is the most expensive part.

muntedcrocodile , to Technology in Night-vision lenses so thin and light that we can all see in the dark

Surly there is a lenses that flips images upside down. Have we tried just training people to deal with upside down surly it doesnt take too long for the brain to adapt.

muntedcrocodile , to Technology in The Future of Large Language Model Pre-training is Federated

Still doesnt solve the whole what data can be used for a foss model thing but distributing compute requirements is good. Idk if this still requires that each node can compute the whole model tho might be a limitation of model sizes since moat pwople wont be able to run huge models etc.

Neuronal firing is often understood as a fundamentally binary process, because a neuron either fires an action potential or it does not. This is often referred to as the "all-or-none" principle. Once the membrane potential of a neuron reaches a certain threshold, an action potential will fire. If this threshold is not reached, it won't fire. There's no such thing as a "partial" action potential; it's a binary, all-or-none process.

Frequency Modulation: Even though an individual neuron’s action potential can be considered binary, neurons encode the intensity of the stimulation in the frequency of action potentials. A stronger stimulus causes the neuron to fire action potentials more rapidly. Again binary in nature not analog.
