What can Amazon do tho what laws have been broken?

muntedcrocodile ,

Exactly my thinking they can ban the account then what hope they dont create another one.

muntedcrocodile ,

Have u tried tiny 11. And Chris Titus debloater can kill a lot of crap with those as it removes most of the shit.

Have u considered running windows in a vm or using https://github.com/casualsnek/cassowary

Props to Alpine and Kali for disabling this bullshit out of the box (lemmy.world)

Context for newbies: Linux refers to network adapters (wifi cards, ethernet cards, etc.) by so called "interfaces". For the longest time, the interface names were assigned based on the type of device and the order in which the system discovered it. So, eth0, eth1, wlan0, and wwan0 are all possible interface names. This, however,...

Debian used to be so good. What happened!? (lemmy.world)

Firefox on Debian stable is so old that websites yell at you to upgrade to a newer browser. And last time I tried installing Debian testing (or was it debian unstable?), the installer shat itself trying to make the bootloader. After I got it to boot, apt refused to work because of a missing symlink to busybox. Why on earth do...

muntedcrocodile ,

I use debian headless as a server never had any issues but then again pretty much any linux system is gonna be a decent server since everything is containerised now.

muntedcrocodile ,

U can obviously use asymmetric key cryptography someone sends their public key u encrypt with that then upload they then decrypt.

muntedcrocodile ,

Sorry hit reply to the wrong comment couldn't be fucked to fix it.

muntedcrocodile ,

If u make privacy illegal then only criminals will have privacy.

muntedcrocodile ,

Sounds like this is will foss models. This is why all the bug tech companies are pushing ai dangerous narrative they gonna legislate away our freedom for moss models to keep hold of a monopoly. This is how liberty dies with thunderous applause.

muntedcrocodile ,

Some are foss in the sence its free. But u do have a point.

muntedcrocodile ,

I believe some may reach that and it does set a significant limit on capability of foss.

muntedcrocodile ,

Cos i dont trust anything that says privacy but doesnt open source and provide reproducible builds.

muntedcrocodile ,

Who gives a fuck what the server was running when tested. Its not like large companies have ever designed software specifically designed to fool when being tested is it cough vw cough. Its worth something so its probs gonna be fine for the majority of people but never trust anythibg that isnt on hardware u control running verifiably open source code or e2e encrypted.

muntedcrocodile ,

Does it have tool use? What language is it? Does it use langchain?

muntedcrocodile ,

I wrote this https://github.com/muntedcrocodile/Sydney

Been having decent success with it but gotta implement proper document embedding.

muntedcrocodile ,

But android doesnt run the llm locally. Can someone please make a foss app that can do simmillar things.

muntedcrocodile ,

The point of a local llm is u can give it access to contacts notes app control fucking everything simmillar to whaf apples done cool app tho.

muntedcrocodile ,

The primary purpose of a company is to make the shareholders happy if he's doing that then i guess what's there to complain about

muntedcrocodile ,

Hey ADHD out of sight out of mind does have some up sides I guess

muntedcrocodile , (edited )

Thats a lot of data but surly its not all their articles cos I'd very much like to train mixtral7x8b on it along with 4chan data and shir from the dark web. Surly there is a project where such a model is public and being trained on literally everything regardless of legality.

EDIT: why am i getting downvoted?

muntedcrocodile ,

They are very good they exceed the capability of many humans in many tasks. If consume energy = bad for environment then all electric vehicles are bullshit cos they have energy inefficiencies that petrol cars don't (thermodynamics is a bitch). U do realise the argument about if asking an ai to create an image is art argument is literally the same argument that was had about if photography is art.

Llm are decently trustworthy especially with chain of thought reasoning and tool capabilities. And they are extraordinarily useful people wouldnt be using them and creating a market for them of they weren't. I can't train my brain then share it for free to everyone on the internet to download I can with an ai tho.

I did some asking in the matrix prior to buying a google pixel and was pretty much told get a pixel or fuck off. There was one guy who gave actually helpful advice on other is options I had so i think its purely a community thing. Its unfortunate honestly i think any good faith criticism is an asset but unfortunatly the graphene community is too blind to see it that way.

I want criticism of it cos i want a better is that addresses said criticism I don't see why some people can't get that. Keep up the good work.

    muntedcrocodile ,

Why is ur comment showing up blank for me?

    muntedcrocodile ,

How are they blanking a replay to a comment just cos the comment being replied to is on .ml thats cooked is it cos ur banned or cos im banned or both or are they just morons and screwed it up?

    muntedcrocodile ,

Thats photographic proof of .ml selectively federating the modlog to do all sorts of dodgy things such as hiding who committed what actions and generally trying to hide mod/admin abuse.

    muntedcrocodile ,

So .ml ia broken and nobody has fixed if for months now? U expect me to believe this bullshit. Also pretty sure the modlog doesnt include any posted link just a link to the post which should now no longer exist. The only reason I can imagine fucked shit would be in the modlog was if the .ml moderators where posting it in the summary field themselves.

    muntedcrocodile ,

So I'm just taking a look at the API documentation here:

    https://lemm.ee/pictrs/image/180df13b-dbbc-4a38-865c-ae2d86ae57a9.webp

I'm no genius or anything but to me this looks a whole lot like absolutely no content other than the moderator/admins message is being federated here so I see absolutely no reason why .ml refuses to federate these actions. Please explain how fucked content is being federated here cos its starting to sound like ur bullshitting reasons not to federate ur modlog.

Convenient that the censorship concerns get raised just after the anaversary of tianamin square. Any correlation Here?

    muntedcrocodile ,

I recon bots that are scraping other platforms content might be a way to get things going. What we need to be doing across all federated media is make it profitable for all the content creators to post to federated media as well as mainstream bs. Perhaps we need a standardised donations model I would recommend monero as the currency totally anonymous proven to be a relatively stable currency, and its easy for anyone to implement without all the bureaucratic bs.

    muntedcrocodile ,

Because u have no storage on ur device cos they want to sell u cloud storage.

    muntedcrocodile ,

Im pretty sure u cant fuck with a device that has a locked bootloader without unlocking said bootloader which requires u know the password. And u definatly cant recover data without passcode unless u can extract the hash from whatever chip holds it (shouldn't be possible if u have a tpm) and bruteforce it. Ur data should be encrypted and u shouldn't be able to tamper with os without unlocking bootloader which once unlocked will wipe all device data. Might be possible if u do some dodgy power injection directly into some of the chips but thats pretty advanced stuff.

    muntedcrocodile ,

I mean u missed a couple steps but u got the gist of it.

    muntedcrocodile ,

It would be a lie to say i didnt see this coming. Its 1984 we just cant see it yet.

    muntedcrocodile ,

    It wont be the last

    muntedcrocodile ,

Surly there is a lenses that flips images upside down. Have we tried just training people to deal with upside down surly it doesnt take too long for the brain to adapt.

    muntedcrocodile ,

Huh guess a bit more training and u can totally remove the fibre optic flipping which if i recall correctly is the most expensive part.

    muntedcrocodile ,

Surly u can adapt to the change given enough practice.

    muntedcrocodile ,

U can just open cmd and run a command or Evan better use tiny11 and the activator program that way u dont even need to pay the assholes

    muntedcrocodile ,

I need an os for my vms. And thankfully u can disable internet.

    muntedcrocodile ,

Unfortunatly had to upgrade to windows11 thank god for tiny11, winutil, MAS, and virtualbox.

    muntedcrocodile ,

Ohh i only run windows in a vm. Am loving the linux propaganda this might finally be the year of the linux desktop.

I'm forking Ladybird and stepping down as SerenityOS BDFL (awesomekling.substack.com)

For those who don't know, Ladybird is a new open-source browser not based on Chromium or Gecko. It started as part of the SerenityOS project. Since then it's taken on a life of its own with lots of contributors and some pretty cool progress. I've been watching the updates on Andreas's YouTube channel and it really gives you an...

Google Pay is officially dead in the US. Just got the email.

We are writing to inform you about changes to your Google Pay experience. muntedcrocodile ,

Sir degoogle ur life u dont want or need that spyware.

    muntedcrocodile ,

Still doesnt solve the whole what data can be used for a foss model thing but distributing compute requirements is good. Idk if this still requires that each node can compute the whole model tho might be a limitation of model sizes since moat pwople wont be able to run huge models etc.

    muntedcrocodile ,

Are they going to allow me to reflash it with whatever i want tho?

    muntedcrocodile ,

Can we get Louis rossman onto it?
