We invented multi bit models so we could get more accuracy since neural networks are based off human brains which are 1 bit models themselves. A 2 bit neuron is 4 times as capable as a 1 bit neuron but only double the size and power requirements. This whole thing sounds like bs to me. But then again maybe complexity is more efficient than per unit capability since thats the tradeoff.

muntedcrocodile ,

Firing of on and off.

muntedcrocodile ,

Neuronal firing is often understood as a fundamentally binary process, because a neuron either fires an action potential or it does not. This is often referred to as the "all-or-none" principle. Once the membrane potential of a neuron reaches a certain threshold, an action potential will fire. If this threshold is not reached, it won't fire. There's no such thing as a "partial" action potential; it's a binary, all-or-none process.

Frequency Modulation: Even though an individual neuron’s action potential can be considered binary, neurons encode the intensity of the stimulation in the frequency of action potentials. A stronger stimulus causes the neuron to fire action potentials more rapidly. Again binary in nature not analog.

Ur missing the point the goal is yo ban anyone except the big companies.

muntedcrocodile ,

They are tracking everyone why would the not track the disabled i didnt realise they where exempt from tracking.

muntedcrocodile ,

Is this the death of foss ai. Cos if so we are all fucked

muntedcrocodile ,

I was looking at it the other day unfortunatly its got quite poor results

muntedcrocodile ,

Someone got a torrent for us?

muntedcrocodile ,

We also need shareable blacklists if they federate as well then that would be ideal. Surly someone can write a community thats a bot that gives democracy to blocklists.

muntedcrocodile ,

I thinking more on a per user basis content tagging should defiantly have blacklists as well. But tags arent a thing yet?

muntedcrocodile ,

Exactly could have different lists made by different communities democraricly.

muntedcrocodile ,

Exactly.

muntedcrocodile ,

Is that a content blacklist or a federation blacklist cos i left .world cos they kept degenerating with people.

muntedcrocodile ,

We have so many dystopian futures and we decided to invent a new one.

muntedcrocodile ,

Ive been experimenting with using search as a tool and the capability write and execute code for calculations. https://github.com/muntedcrocodile/Sydney

muntedcrocodile ,

Do we have a js type situation here

muntedcrocodile ,

I dont think comparisons should be doing type conversion if i compare a float to an int i want it to say false cos types are different.

muntedcrocodile ,

Thats why i recon its good to keep u aware of it. Mind u i find its often fine as long as my ide and chagpt know what type it is im usually fine.

I do kinda like the rigidity of types tho. Proper Python type hints are a godsend.

muntedcrocodile ,

I still cant properly manage my head around the rust object borrowing. My ray tracer implementation from that blog on ray tracing was slow as shiiiit.

muntedcrocodile ,

I mean honestly its expected u should check floats similarity not equivalence.

muntedcrocodile ,

Yeah its gonna be one of those problems chatgpt ain't gonna help

muntedcrocodile ,

If bits aren't same then i dont want it to tell me they are the same. And python just has one implementation for int and float.

I like python cos everything's an object i dont want different types of objects to evaluate the same they are fundamentally different objects is that not what u would expect?

muntedcrocodile ,

Yeah i think python needs stronger type enforcement i do like how they have been improving type hinting tho really helps with preventing bugs

muntedcrocodile ,

Numpys more or less a math wrapper for c isnt it?

muntedcrocodile ,

Ok ive been driving xfce for years now i bewn thinking about something tiling thats equally as lite what u recommend. Also needs to be wayland compatable.

muntedcrocodile ,

Still hate default firfox build u cant disable telemetry in about: config. Gotta go with librewolf.

muntedcrocodile ,

When i first got here we hadn't even hit 1% yet. Open source scares Microsoft because if they fuck up they are done but we have a million distributions with a million different mutations its perfect evolution we cannot get worse only better.

muntedcrocodile ,

Well the principle i was talking about requires free forking which would make it foss.

muntedcrocodile ,

Shit do i finally get better internet. Or is that reserved for the corporations?

muntedcrocodile ,

Didn't it score better on the truthfulness tests?

muntedcrocodile ,

I cant seem to find where it says if api access is enabled. Or maybe i just messed up my lqngchain tool config

muntedcrocodile ,

It drives conflict to the point that neither side of the political torus can speak to each other in a civil manner. "If his forces are united, separate them." - sun tzu

muntedcrocodile ,

Not everything exists on the cloud (someone else's computer)

muntedcrocodile ,

Ais real power its ability to use tools and understand context form existing tools. For a Foss tool that uses an llm to do web searches and generate accurate(not guaranteed) results try my tool https://github.com/muntedcrocodile/Sydney

muntedcrocodile ,

Its not chatgpt that's just default config u can use the API endpoint to point to any chatgpt api compatible llm. Its can utilise ddg to search for web results then gives u an answer based on that. Most importantly it shows u the full log and u get to read it as it happens like bingAI but transparent so checking it is right there. I'll add some screenshots to the readme.

muntedcrocodile ,

Its transparent in its operation allows u to see what its thinking and catch errors and use ur own fine tuning that isn't censored.

muntedcrocodile ,

Wow we really are marching right to towards a centralised digital currency with no privacy and no actually ownership.

Remember back in the day when owning stock meant u owned the actually stocks. Well now u own the right to the stocks but if the platform ur trading on goes under welp out of luck guess u don't actually own them.

You will own nothing and be happy.

muntedcrocodile ,

I too enjoy sucking the governments dick as they creepily investigate everything I spend money on to ensure absolute social conformity.

Google's call-scanning AI could dial up censorship by default, privacy experts warn (techcrunch.com)

A feature Google demoed at its I/O confab yesterday, using its generative AI technology to scan voice calls in real time for conversational patterns associated with financial scams, has sent a collective shiver down the spines of privacy and security experts who are warning the feature represents the thin end of the wedge. They...

muntedcrocodile ,

Yep put ur phone traffic through wire shark and u really location gets sent to google regardless. They do claim not to store it tho but I wouldn't believe that for a second.

muntedcrocodile ,
muntedcrocodile ,

If u want ai powered search results I would recommend this tool instead: https://github.com/muntedcrocodile/Sydney

muntedcrocodile ,

Its way better especially considering my tool can use a Foss model and ddg instead of proprietary and google.

muntedcrocodile ,

Riiiight so if its so conspiratorial why has China banned teslas from being within kilometres of any Chinese military establishment?

muntedcrocodile ,

What u think they will do if they invade/become the dominant global power. My country is at a far greater risk of Chinese invasion than urs. U set precidents the west follows like the good little vassals we are.

As for the un thing that's idiotic the us has veto power.
