I think it has something to do with z representing the vertical axis. I still don't get what weasel foxes have to do with the speed of light tho

quicksand ,

the state law requires ISPs to offer "broadband at no more than $15 per month for service of 25Mbps, or $20 per month for high-speed service of 200Mbps," the ruling noted

I'm glad they defined minimum speeds. I could see ISPs getting around it by selling something uselessly slow.

If only they had reliable utilities. Samsung's fab in Austin got shut down for a few weeks from ice-mageddon. Messed them up enough that they threatened to leave if Texas didn't give them something to make up for it.

Wikipedia is gauging interest for an extension that uses AI to see if any claim is cited on Wikipedia (meta.wikimedia.org)

A prototype is available, though it's Chrome-only and English-only at the moment. How this'll work is you select some text and then click on the extension, which will try to "return the relevant quote and inference for the user, along with links to article and quality signals"....

AI is going to start writing entire fake research papers and books written by fake authors, just so it can be cited as a source for a high school kid using it to cheat on a 500 word essay.

I feel like there's very few people who could design and build their own brain implant chip. Even in the far future

Yeah I love the concept though, despite the dystopian energy built into it. It's something like at cost + 10% for operating costs. Unfortunately I think they have limited options at the moment. Something tells me big Pharma doesn't like this concept so it's hard to make deals with them.

Interesting. How do the beer companies get their bottles back to reuse?

quicksand ,

Returning them through the deposit makes sense, but I never would think that the recycling pickup people would sort them. Ours just take it to the dump

quicksand ,

So how do they return the bottles to the distributors?

quicksand ,

I love that this post just turned into people giving helpful solutions and not bullying. Lemmy be awesome

Given the context of a previous conversation, I would. This is a very elaborate long con OP

Darknet Drug Dealers Arrested After Packages of Meth-Laced Adderall Repeatedly Returned to Sender (www.404media.co)

Police arrested three men accused of selling thousands of pills of meth-laced “Adderall” on various darknet marketplaces and mailing them through the United States Postal Service through a fictitious business called “Professional Paper Filing Inc.” that listed a real return address of an uninvolved business. That...

Thanks for the info! It's incredible how much the quality of batteries and chargers vary. It's good to know a cheap easy place to get them
