Stopped using Discord a few months ago. Not for any specific reason, just felt like I wasn't using my time effectively. Anyone important added me on Signal, and then I deleted the apps from my phone and computer.

I can't put words to how much better my mental health has gotten.

This doesn't really relate to your comment, I guess, but just thought I would mention it in case anyone else is considering taking a break from the platform.

I hate this meme format. I don't know what exactly about it that I hate. Perhaps that its always used in a subtly inflammatory manner. Not sure. But I hate it.

I mean, companies with a lot of employees, sure. But companies that are mostly just data, like movie watching sites, do it all the time

Yeah, coming from someone who's tried it, the jailbreak is sorta useles at the moment. Hoping someone comes along and improves on it. Spite is an excellent motivator.

Would make for a lovely home assistant control device.

I got my whole family on it, and generally all my closest friends have it as at least a backup. As the other chat apps falter it's been easier to convert people.

We got a "bill" from a company like this that wanted ~300 bucks to "list your companies name on our website". That was it. You paid them, and you got added to the list of accountants that didn't read the fine print. Pretty clever, if obnoxious.
