Is it a necessary technology for ride sharing?

Bugs. Bugs. Bugs.

AI is fine as an assistant, or to brainstorm ideas, but don’t let it run wild, or take control.

@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

Time should be whenever I say it is, and people shouldn’t tell me what I can and cannot do.

Apple said some pretty dumb things to defend that 8gb, but let’s not pretend that most manufacturers do the same thing.

For years people have known it can’t be upgraded. You know that going in.

No one complains that video cards on (most) laptops can’t be replaced, yet many of them wind up being useless for anything but daily tasks.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

I get more because I know I’ll need more. I don’t get less and then complain I should have gotten more even though I knew I couldn’t upgrade later.

Really, Apple just shouldn’t have said what they did and they wouldn’t be in hot water.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

Sure, some people buy a computer without knowing anything about the computer.

Unified memory is not user accessible. If you think you’ll need additional memory, it’s a good idea to upgrade now.

They say it right there. Should it be red and flashing? Should there be a confirm button?

If you go into the Apple Store, someone who is trained to help is always available, and various models are typically in stock.

I’d like to firmly repeat, that Apple never should’ve said that bullshit. Also I feel that 16 gigs should be the standard amount for any Apple laptop. They are premium products. Perhaps the Mac Mini could start at 8.

And since you pulled out the gaslight, I’ll call you a misinformed accuser.

You seem particular in a way that is breathtakingly unfun.

Anyone who supports Google supports Israel.

So, how many of you are ditching Gmail?

Yeah, that’s what I thought.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

Now we know why using provider specific SSO over email is a bad thing. You could put the effort into it, or you support Israel. 🤷‍♂️

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

Yet it gets downvoted… bro. If what you’re saying is true, I would expect the opposite outcome.

It just boils down to thoughts and prayers.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

Fortunately, there are lots of options. A suggestion: have her buy a cheap domain name, so she can take her email address to any service. Forward the gmail and slowly change over.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

People can also use that single required Google account for YouTube without participating in services beyond that.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

I’m sorry that calling out passive supporters of genocide makes me look like a prick, I’ll take those downvotes with price.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

Well, it is what I thought 😇

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

So have one and don’t focus on me? Seems like a waste of your time to just get a kick in.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

I appreciate a person who doesn’t mash a downvote for no reason. Still, I’ll die on this anti-Google hill.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

What the heck was Google One? For a company that sells ads, they sure suck at marketing.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

I wouldn’t trust it anyway.

I’m listening and I hear nothing. Guess god doesn’t exist.

tsonfeir ,

I have it write all my emails. I’m so productive and everyone loves them. That or they’re also using ChatGPT, and it’s just two computers flattering each other.

My junior year of high school, I had to take a summer math class. The teacher was super lazy (cool though) and gave us all the actual final with the answers as a study guide (multiple choice scantron). I mentioned, to my group of about 5 kids, that I was sure this was the actual final and I had a plan to write the answers down on a little piece of paper and hold up fingers casually so everyone could cheat. 1 for A, 2 for B, etc.

Sure enough, on test day, it was the exact same test. I told everyone to take their time, don’t turn it in early, and ffs don’t get too many right. Everyone followed directions… except one. The moment I got done listing off the answers he stood up, walked over all proud, slapped it on the teachers desk, and started to walk out of the class.

“Wait,” the teacher said, casually. They started to grade it. 100% correct.

“You’ve got a C in the class and you expect me to believe you finished first and with every problem correct?”

Murmurs and giggles filled the room and the teacher walked to the board. Wrote a question from the test on it and said, “solve it.”

He failed, so he failed the final.

I got a C on the test.

I was in Spain.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

Well, he was an idiot. He probably would have passed the test. It wasn’t that difficult anyway.

What is the Spanish equivalent to the typical American Teenager? Spanish Teenager.

There’s a lot to unpack in your comment, but I’ll just leave this here with 100% not creepy intentions:

Not all states are 18. Some are 16. Your comparison is irrelevant.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

lol. This is… Chad? Am I doing it right?

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

I appreciate your comment. I wasn’t trying to be all “you should work, kids these days!” Or anything like that. Obviously I could have just ignored them, but sometimes we gotta die on the hill.

I think a lot of people don’t have a good working environment, and this hit home for them.

I get that people space out. Everyone does it at some point. My takeaway from all this is that I’m really glad I work with a group of people who respect each other and really want to help their fellow coworkers do the job they’ve been paid to do, so we all can pay rent.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

You mean you’re upset I’m not paying attention anymore 😱

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

It took a lot of back and forth for them to finally bring that up. They were using it as a weapon, which is in appropriate. They weren’t bringing it up as an exception.

I get it. You see all the downvotes, don’t read any of the comments that led up to this one, pick the one thing that impacts you, and make it all about yourself.

There is no moral superiority here. No one is winning anything. No one is a better person.

I’ll go back to my original statement before blocking you as well:

Some people are not able to work from home. Some people don’t pay attention during meetings. If you have a disability that impacts your ability to focus, that’s something you can handle with your coworkers. However, if you are, as they say, a “normal person,” (funny you were ok with that, I wasn’t) you should give your peers respect and pay attention.

Goodnight (blocked)

Everyone

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

As long as everyone attempts to obey street laws and both cars and bikes respect each other. “Share the road” etc. signal, have lights at night, pass on the left.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

Wishful thinking.

tsonfeir ,
@tsonfeir@lemm.ee avatar

Yes, well, that is a level of perfection I doubt many countries will ever reach.
