    to be fair they are the only ones i know of putting it to actual good use.

    ai itself is not the problem.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    thats why we are in dire need of open source hardware.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    i dream of a world where the process will cheapen out enough like pcb design, where you can just submit the design you want and they will fab it out for you.

    with more players coming into the game because of sanctions, i hope we are now on the path.

    time to treat that firefox allergy of yall if ya want to keep adblocking.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    it is. it wont be updated as often, and ads will slip in between them. it also won't be able to block as many trackers because the api is more limited.

    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    for now. the intention since the beggining is to cripple it.

    in addition to servarr, which was already mentioned, you can use Stremio. its similar to popcorntime and a lot simpler than setting up and maintaining servarr.

    an RPi's processing power can handle your use case as long as packages are available for its architecture, it shouldnt be a problem on common usecases.

    you can use it to stream games from another machine using sunshine/moonlight too.

    except phones are big again because we noticed we can watch porn on them

    Google's "Manifest V2" Chrome extension phaseout next month is expected to impact the original uBlock Origin extension, which still uses the V2 framework and has 37 million users (www.theregister.com)

    The new MV3 architecture reflects Google's avowed desire to make browser extensions more performant, private, and secure. But the internet giant's attempt to do so has been bitterly contested by makers of privacy-protecting and content-blocking extensions, who have argued that the Chocolate Factory's new software architecture...

    yeah the solution here is so simple, yet most people seem allergic to firefox.

    drivers all up to date?

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    linux is not mainstream 😂

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    if we are counting servers linux was never not mainstream

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    but it just wasnt the same 😉

    in other words, the cpu

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    laptops all have pretty much an x86 soc. separation between cpu and chipset nowadays happens only on desktops for some reason.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    my understanding, from the block diagrams they release, is that these io functions are simply integrated into the cpu. in a way that could probably be implemented in desktops too.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    this makes sense but can't it be done with integrated chipsets too?

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    and the techbro ais are mostly a novelty so far...

    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    pretty brutal what they are doing to assange

    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    if you want to help but cant spare any money, consider hosting the archive warrior to help them out.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    then they should be doing something to make voters want to turn out.

    umbrella , (edited )
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    i think you are heavily subestimating the power of money here.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    well yes but with the new tariffs they are not exactly wrong.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    if you have a spare corner in your server, host the archive warrior and help them out.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    yes! its the archive team warrior.

    who was trying to sue it out of existence recently? probably them.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    so one of the reasons they shunned independent repair was that your privacy was at risk or something.... and now they require repair shops to share customer data.

    i can't with these corpo doublespeak motherfuckers.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    we can finally share the load and mess up everyone because of not affording babies!

    umbrella , (edited )
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    i was half joking but i use contraceptives because i cant afford one.

    i'm not even thinking about 10 and never will.

    umbrella ,
    @umbrella@lemmy.ml avatar

    on top of what has already happened from other privacy invasions? no i can't see it either! back to work now, citizen.

    anyone who has ever used image editing software professionally knows gimp's ui sucks very much.

    we could have had an opensource photoshop killer if the developers werent adamant to keep the 90s workflow holding it back for so damn long.

    "you are using it wrong!!" my ass.

    More like:

    i had a q9xxx on an x38. i had it overclocked to keep up and it did no sweat for a good while there.

    Going Dark: The war on encryption is on the rise. Through a shady collaboration between the US and the EU. (mullvad.net)

    Under the slogan ‘Think of the children’, the European Commission tried to introduce total surveillance of all EU citizens. When the scandal was revealed, it turned out that American tech companies and security services had been involved in the bill, generally known as ‘Chat Control’ – and that the whole thing had been...
