Electric cars need software to smooth out motor output to create an enjoyable driving experience. They also need to manage battery health and regenerative braking.

Edit: cars like the Ioniq N seem to be the exception while most cars have problems like the Mercedes EQS that people report has unpredictable braking which means you can't learn how to control it.

workerONE , (edited )

Yeah but when ice vehicles aren't perfect it's not a huge deal for the average driver. When an electric car isn't smoothed out well you have the same problem but it's amplified any times because of the instant torque.

workerONE ,

Maybe it's like you say if you're making a shit box but you can't make a driver's car without careful consideration. This conversation would be better to have with car enthusiasts rather than technology enthusiasts.

Need Help Finding Article on Car Privacy

I'm looking for an article I either read or heard about during a podcast fairly recently. It stated someone's kid on vacation visited home, used their parents car, connected their phone to the infotainment system, and since it had access to their phone's data was able to see who the kid was and increased the parents car...

workerONE ,

But the phone's owner could have been a passenger. Seems unrealistic

"In a statement about Drake’s creation of “Taylor Made,” litigator Howard King called the song a “blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time” and said the Shakur estate never cleared the use of Tupac’s voice."

Tupac estate lawyer should release a diss track

Or just running down the street looking for an electric outlet to plug into

People who wear masks can never tell me why, if I wear underwear how come I can still smell my own farts?

workerONE ,

Wrong.

My post was a mockery of stupid people. I thought everyone would get that

workerONE ,

LARPing

workerONE ,

I read that they get artists to sign contracts which prohibit them from playing at venues that don't have a contact w live Nation. So they use that as leverage to get venues to sign contracts else all of those artists will not play their venue

Based on what I just read, goats do climb into trees like this (to eat) but farmers who want more tourists lure their goats into trees with food

All races are a race against time, that's how races work

Hahaha and people hate this because they like tennis shoes. But anyway racquet is an alternate spelling of racket.

The steamroller you are driving has lost its steering and is about to roll over a crowd of salesmen. Pump up the jam is playing on the radio and you are having a great time. You can turn the steamroller off to stop it before it runs over the salesmen but this will also turn off the radio. What do you do?

workerONE ,

But since before you were born people knew how long a woman's menstrual cycle lasts. Most likely the Internet existed when you became an adult and thought about measuring things. The society you lived in had existing calendars that you were aware of if/when you had a menstrual cycle. You've never needed to "chart 28 days" but someone who lived long long ago may have wondered and they would have had no frame of reference so they decided to count.

workerONE ,

but don't let it distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table.

workerONE ,

They'll lower production to introduce artificial scarcity.

workerONE ,

You should be able to send a letter that serves as a contract, and include an invoice to pay to start the contract. Then legally it would rely on the type of service you offer, but as far as invoicing before service starts that's not legally a problem. They used to mail out magazine subscription offers, you would mail in a check and then your subscription would start.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs

At first I thought the article was inaccurate but It sounds like there has been a huge increase in US Bitcoin mining since 2020.

Some interesting information from their source article:

"The CBECI estimates that the global share of Bitcoin mining occurring in the United States rose from 3.4% in January 2020 to 37.8% in January 2022"

"the CBECI estimates put electricity supporting Bitcoin mining in 2023 at about 0.2% to 0.9% of global demand for electricity."

I didn't think he would wear red. Is this a real photo or is it AI generated?

You know if you get a 20x20" air filter, the cardboard frame type that are inserted into AC units, and you tape it to a square room fan, it will work far far better than any available air purifier. After tons of research into which purifiers work best to combat asthma, I ended up with room fans and 20x20 AC filters. The filters have different ratings, if they filter too well then air won't pass through, so you want the next best rating.

workerONE ,

I really like that design. But realistically a socialist society would be better off if you integrated the rich into the middle class and forced them into service to society.

AAA says that EV batteries tend to lose power faster in cold weather, getting as little as 50-60% of their advertised range.

"Charging stations around the city are over capacity... Once their car is finally plugged in, it takes longer than usual to power up. “...They tell you it’s fast, but then it takes two hours to charge your car,” Marcus Campbell tells NBC Chicago."

https://www.pcmag.com/news/dont-buy-a-tesla-chicagos-ev-drivers-struggle-with-sub-zero-temperatures

This weather is a worst case scenario and I doubt schools would be open anyway but sounds like EVs are having a tough time.

workerONE ,

I was replying to a post that started with:
"1. Electric cars run just fine in icy weather"

Just fuck off with the name calling

workerONE ,

Yeah if you Google "what is a float needle" the first result on a napa website has a great description

Politicians shouldn't have to do any fundraising, or to be allowed to. They should be given a budget by the government.
