Idk, me and all my friends use discord for vc, plus screenshots and memes while we chat. You can do that in mumble. Not sure about broadcasting or anything (I started a server yesterday after the news broke), maybe there are extensions. Discord is just a means to an end for us.

I have experienced it for at least 5y or so, back when I ran CalyxOS. It would try to override the sim tool at every opportunity when calyx used a custom version. With GrapheneOS, I have always (3y) had a stub apk to give me the preview picture in gCam without requiring gPhotos, and it bitches and errors constantly if you don't turn off auto-updating. Tasks.org joined it recently since I use Obtainium (not f-d); it's been happening with quite a few apps, just Tasks has been out of sync for the Github release vs play store release a while now.

Android knows if an apk is installed from the ps or not, this would be a two-line if-statent fix. But there's no incentive for them to make using alternative stores/methods work better than the bare minimum, so they don't :(

Basically this, but update the system, then install GrapheneOS, set that up, setup Google, setup bitwarden, start to load apps from Obtainium, setup each (and uninstall the app from the old device as I go). Then gp apps, same thing. Then device settings. Using FX file manager at some point to login to my nas and pull config and backup files, as necessary.

Takes me a full day, but I can be confident that I have everything migrated and not have to do anything else. I use my phone for many things (tasks.org, calendula, the usual calendar and email, banking...) and also for safety/reassurance (all my medical details are input and updated whenever there is a change, my watch detects falls and has LTE if my phone is dead, etc) which is very important to me being disabled.

It's a bitch to do but once you have a rhythm, it's actually pretty much zombie auto-pilot. The initial setup for bitwarden (g play) which has the prerequisite of Google (account) as a whole without having a simple way to input passwords 60+ characters long quickly is oof. Once I had bw ready, it's just boom boom boom. I get a new phone whenever a family member needs to upgrade to my current one, so it can be a yearly process, or like 3 years. The new device keeps me excited and powering through the dull process.

I got invited with just a bit over 100k; I considered it, just out of 'fuck it, why not' but didn't follow through. So uh, I just spun up a vps a couple days ago, few docker containers, usual security best practices... I used ufw to block all and open only ssh and a couple others, as that's what I've been told all I need to do. Should I be panicking about my containers fucking with the firewall?

Just waking up, I've been running docker on my nas for a few years now and was never made aware of this - the nas ports appear safe, but the vps is not, so I swapped in 127.0.0.1 in front of the port number (so it's now 127.0.0.1:8080:80 or what have you), and that appears to resolve it. I have nginx running so of course that's how I want to have a couple things exposed, not everything via port.

My understanding was that port:port just was local for allowing redirection from container to host, and you'd still need to do network firewall management yourself to allow stuff through, and that appears the case on my home network, so I never had reason to question it. Thanks, I learned something today :)

Might do the same to my nas containers, too, just to be safe. I'm using those containers as a testbed for the vps containers so I don't want to forget...
