DogWater ,

Check out the history of the universe on YouTube if physics and cosmos is cool to you. I shill it anywhere I can because it's so good.

Props to Alpine and Kali for disabling this bullshit out of the box (lemmy.world)

Context for newbies: Linux refers to network adapters (wifi cards, ethernet cards, etc.) by so called "interfaces". For the longest time, the interface names were assigned based on the type of device and the order in which the system discovered it. So, eth0, eth1, wlan0, and wwan0 are all possible interface names. This, however,...

DogWater ,

I was going to commend you as well. Top notch. I appreciate it

DogWater ,

Yeah I switched to it from Plex. Plex wouldn't stop forgetting my libraries and revoking permissions.

DogWater ,

No fuck you. Just because search engines exist doesn't mean we should normalize headlines and post titles with so little information that you have to Google shit for 3 minutes to figure out what they are talking about.

DogWater ,

It's not about the capability to find the info. it's about the normalization of shitty writing that people like you enable. Fuck off with that hurrr durrr you're so helpless...stfu. People who do this shit are annoying as fuck. It's bad journalism.

DogWater ,

And similarly don't order fast food without using the app for promos and deals.

DogWater ,

? Why lol just use Google/apple pay

DogWater ,

Lol

DogWater ,

These cars all have manual backups.

The question is how easy is it to use?

DogWater ,

No, the automation technology gives them that power, ubi is a consequence of it. The more productivity per worker a company can achieve, the fewer employees they need.

You really think as technology advances and companies implement more and more of it, that companies only end up with more leverage if the local government is doing UBI?

UBI is welfare product that helps low bracket earners. If the tax code was functional it would be paid for by the corporations and 1% themselves and even so it's still extremely helpful where it's implemented.

DogWater ,

Where should I go to learn more about what you're talking about

DogWater ,

Treading a dangerous line here, but I lean towards no

There i think that's it. That's a ton of stuff but I really follow more quality YouTube than anything else and I like sharing great YouTube channels. If you enjoy interesting YouTube I would honestly just check a couple of these out and see if the topics fit your interests.

These channels range from science, space, physics, to history, sports, cars, to tech, movies, games, to makers who build stuff seriously as well as builders who make stuff silly.

Not everything here is video essay, but it's high quality content imo

DogWater ,

Nice I'll check this out for sure

DogWater ,

It's true, I'm subbed to 2 of those

DogWater ,

Oh shit practical engineering! I have Grady!

Also undecided with Matt Farrell

DogWater ,

Nice! My list here is science, videogames, tech, cars, sports, spooky conspiracy stuffs, and space

So if youre interested in a topic let me know I can point you to the right channels.

DogWater ,

It's no tits

Or it's not it's

DogWater ,

You're right about stuff made here. Love that.

DogWater ,

No they won't, this tech isn't going to go away Even if it plateaus. All the gpus they make will still get used.

DogWater ,

There's a number on your insurance card lol

DogWater ,

And it was a safety measure in case they lost control that would ensure it would burn itself up and not become space junk. This guy is a nut job lmao. SpaceX is badass!

setting all politics and social issues from the CEO aside.

DogWater ,

Seriously!

OMG THE SPACEX ENGINE BLEW UP.

Brother yeah, it's a ground up redesign. It's brand new. Shit breaks. This article is a big fat nothing burger. and other comments on here being like SEE SPACEX IS DOG SHIT.... Just telling the world how uninformed they are with no regard for their own dignity lmao

DogWater ,

Because the longer a launch goes the easier it is. Basically there are critical phases of flight and there's the actual continuous operation of the rocket all the time. Things like clearing the tower, max q, stage separation, engine re-lighting are all insanely complex operations, but once all that's done and all you need to do is burn the engines for longer it's pretty easy to just burn more rocket fuel on a flight that has been working the whole time. its something that is much less risky to the mission going on. Things can go wrong, but the chance is much higher during one of those complex things.

DogWater ,

These over jammers every time. No contest.

DogWater ,

I like the way you pointed that out lmao

DogWater ,

I think there is an important distinction between what is required of a human to exist and what a capitalist society refers to as labor lol

We get closer to post scarcity everyday. Just depends on if society collapses or rather we get passed this great filter.

DogWater ,

It's like being intolerant of intolerance lol but for money

DogWater ,

Wym?

Open ai is "owned" by Microsoft so no, google are just shooting themselves in the foot with shitty search results

DogWater ,

Based on that passage and your description, you gotta read project hail Mary. It's incredible. It's like the Martian on steroids

DogWater ,

Don't let her shame you. That guy is awesome.

DogWater ,

You were balls deep in your turtle, I didn't wanna disturb you

DogWater ,

Oh thank God I was like bruh now what do I do

DogWater ,

Anti jokes are capable of being smart. Lmao

DogWater ,

For the people who don't know cyanide supposedly smells or tastes like almonds.

DogWater ,

No it doesn't. Watts do give a shit what percentage is voltage vs amps. You have to convert between AC and DC as appropriate as well as ensuring the voltage of a 12v battery is stepped if needed, but the watts are the same in any case. (Not figuring for system losses)

DogWater ,

You should Google what a step up and step down transformer do. It's very simple and easy to prove you're a dipshit once you understand you're arguing from bad faith trying to compare a simple bit of circuitry design to hydro power.

DogWater ,

https://youtu.be/GtTcuexjeRw?si=e1p0nUHh1uXBp24R

3 seconds of googling like I said

DogWater ,

We are talking about whether it's possible to run a regular fridge on a 12v car battery. Not if it's efficient lol. You have to convert DC to AC because that's part of the problem, so yeah I made that jump all on my own lmao

You're a troll, but there's no rustled jimmies here.... You're too obvious.

DogWater ,

No you didn't lol

DogWater ,

It's nice to have Gamepass on my PC for this reason. I find a ton of stuff I like and I get to try things like starfield and see how they suck and not feel bad about spending 60$ on it
