I'm really annoyed by how much Brave Search is pushing AI

I've been using Brave Search supplemented by Startpage for the past 2+ years. When I search for something, I want to get results for credible webpages, not a summary of unknown quality. I liked the previous AI inclusion because it was instant, didn't take up much space, and I could quickly navigate to the websites referenced in...

Bing is/was down

I used it because the results were better for me then the other search engines I have used, but yeah I don't agree with anything the company or it's CEO is doing, so there's no better time to stop it then.

How is it bing that's doing that if this is a service provided by brave? Even if their liscense required copilot to be implemented, I would think that opting out isn't something that bing regulates

To play the devil's advocate, it was technically opt-in

indeed

Sure that's true, that doesn't answer the question I asked though.

This is very close to being nsfw, but I can't say that it is

Same. Even on android the gestures are better than all others.

Do these even make more sense with context?

Rdx.overdevs.com is another mobile frontend that works well

I use it to see the answers to problems on my physics homework when I can't figure it or myself. It works far better than forums, which are mostly all paywalled these days.

It's available on mobile, which is really nice when you want to do some pegging and you're out of the house.

This button never works for me anymore. It just keeps recommending the channel.

Canva had a great UI just a few years ago, but they've simplified it a lot to the point that it's just hard to use now.

It's a fedi service, similar to lemmy or mastodon. You can find an instance to join and use the web interface, which is this. It works really well on both desktop and mobile, but you can also use other calckey/firefish apps if you want to.

  • Avast fined $16.5 million for ‘privacy’ software that actually sold users’ browsing data (www.theverge.com)

Avast, the cybersecurity software company, is facing a $16.5 million fine after it was caught storing and selling customer information without their consent. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced the fine on Thursday and said that it’s banning Avast from selling user data for advertising purposes.

That's horrifying. I remember using the avast private browser when I was younger as to not get tracked by Google chrome, but i was just getting tracked by avast instead. :(
