Just one specific point of contention. A physical object is very different from an object that can infinitely and effortlessly be copied with 0 degradation of that thing.

I think you are making a good argument and but maybe not the best example.

I think there is significance in the difference that needs to be accounted for in any discussion of piracy as theft.

It is currently, and has been for a long time, legal to copy music from the radio or movies and tv shows from a broadcast(but not pay per view, or copys for distrubution) or go to a library and borrow whatever interesting (to you) media they have.

Should have said what they meant then instead of being lazy. There will be so many obvious stipulations it was stupid to say no stipulations. Dont understand why so many people insist on avoiding saying what they mean and just then say, you know what i meant.

I say this because if you have ever planned or ran a dnd(or any ttrpg)game you are quickly made aware that whats obvious to most, and even what should be obvious to most will often be the hardest thing to get people to include in how they hear what they are being told.

Its wild how much we expect people to assume, when we have so much evidence, if you care to ask for it/look for it and how often we get caught up with dumb derailments(Case in point... I think we are having a discussion, but wont be surprised if you think we are arguing over pedantry. )

No snark. I dont understand the point of adding that second line if its not accurate or indicative of the previous statement. If it isnt clarifying conditions of the previous statement, it just adding confusion. So how does it "reinforce". Like literally how is that a statement that supports the previous one?

Which if they haven't tested them, which is an easy thing to prove for them, then this should not be recommended by you, or anyone, as a contraceptive.

It's like my ex trying to tell her birthcontrol is working just fine because she took 3 pills at once after forgetting to take it twice in a row even though the manufacturer says if you dont follow the directions you have to start the initial waiting period over again, because "i think they have to say that" (she also used those exact words)

Bad advice is bad advice. Why should anyone ever trust their future and also their health by listening to your advice that directly opposes the manufacturers warning. They are legally liable for their product, you are just some random person potentially ruining peoples lives with your opinions.

I hope they sue you for damages before anyone fucks up their life by being convinced by your bad attitude

I dont feel bad for Anthony Arbaugh. At all.

Literally everything ive seen from him say about what he has experienced so far has been incredibly positive.

We can all call out elon for the shitbag he is, but until this guy who volunteered for this mad science experiment starts singing a different tune, im celebrating the hope for the future that might happen in our lifetimes.

I just buried my grandmother after living with her as one of 2 people to care for her as we sat for 10 years, front row, to her descent into madness and insanity of alzheimers and dementia.

If this tech can be used to fight that monster its worth the risk as it stands at this moment. And i am aware this is some tenuous extreme "success" at the moment im not kidding or deluding myself, but after finding that most of the research on alzehiemers from the last many decades is now known to be junk science based on false claims and they pretty much have to start most of it all over again, this is hopeful.

Look we dont know for sure. Im grasping at silver linings made of straws. I dont care how unlikely it is to be true, but there is a chance.

A chance that some day, months years or decades, we will find out whether or not it didnt work out in best way it could have given whats already happening. But we will get an answer that will be pretty hard to disagree with

And i wont be surpised when it isnt what im hoping it might be.
I wont be devastated or have my world view shattered.

Im not naive, im just hoping that we are wrong. Even if is a bit rediculous and theres only evidence to the contrary along the way.
