Literally the only drawback

I WFH a couple of days per week and living in a 15 minute walkable city is wonderful for walks compared to when I lived in the suburbs. But that's me and having an endless amount of actual stuff to walk to compared to an endless sea of cookie cutter houses and grass is my idea of heaven vs hell, in that order.

If only kissing and grooming teens was enough for this to happen on its own.

The fact that there's a video of him kissing a girl, then asking her age, then finding out she's a teenager, then talking about liking feeling her breasts, then kissing her again, probably helps people come to that conclusion.

I'm still not sure how so many people have come to the conclusion that this isn't an actual thing that he did. Probably hero worship.

You know, if it's literally 8 guys, what are the chances that they're not all sat in a room and one goes "hey, there's a lot of evidence that switching to a four day workweek would be better in every way and would not affect our productivity or profits in any way. Do you think we should all adopt it in all our companies and change the world and people's lives for the better?" and they all take a moment and look at each other and as they all burst out laughing one says "fuck those losers, let them suffer" and they all high five and go back to drinking champagne out of panda skulls or whatever it is they do.

Nah a lot of people thought her name was Heather Brooke because Heather and a girl named Brooke were in a video and some early internet user named the bootleg video Heather Brooke. Many people, including this reporter, were under the mistaken impression that that was her name. Her actual name is Heather Harmon.

You defeat your own position, no one said perfection was necessary to achieve any kind of society, no need to let perfection be the enemy of good enough and functional.

You're really not wrong, and I'm not entirely sure why you're being downvoted. Thievery is largely a product of unfulfilled needs or unchecked hoarding of wealth, one could even argue that the latter is just a reaction to living through or fear of the former. An anarchist society solves both of those problems inherently. How do you steal what can be gotten as a matter of course? I feel like the smallest outlier doing such things in a community would just be a mild inconvenience and caught pretty quickly.

I'm not a Christian, but I don't think it's at all possible for a society to be perfect, ever. By that metric nothing will address the issues. But issues can be addressed even partially and can be the difference between death and survival.

I don't agree with that either. If we never knew capitalism we would say the same thing, as a matter of fact we would say it's inherently imperfect and needs regulations at every turn. On paper I'd say anarchy beats capitalism any day and I'm not even a huge fan of anarchy.

I'm active in the punk scene and I know a lot of skinheads and they're all hardcore antifascists.

That's crazy, around here I saw a guy get his ass thrown out of a metal bar for having a burzum patch last month. They also forced a guy to either leave, invert his vest or remove a mayhem patch. The scene here is pretty intensely antifascist.

I've found myself scrolling through stories or reels or whatever a particular platform calls it and coming across something even slightly polarizing and heading right for the comments looking for opinions I find stupid or incorrect and then-

realizing I'm falling for the algorithm, deleting my half written comment and moving on.

I'm generally pretty covered in metal (and punk for the last couple years) band logos. It's less of a side effect of buying clothing and more of a choice to directly support artists while giving them free advertising.

Nah I liked the first album but I'm really more of a Thrash/OSDM kinda guy, the progressive stuff doesn't really appeal to me at all anymore.

This is pure insanity, but at least I can see the kind of insane thinking that allowed Germans to live their comfortable lives just a few kilometers away from concentration camps. When you say "Hamas is from Palestine, therefore Palestine is a target" and you manage to convince yourself that infant civilians are an acceptable casualty then you are no better.

This is true and also not true. We've thrown away cow hides and sheep skins/wool for lack of demand, but I also know the wool industry and they're not exactly chomping at the bit to get their hands on the garbage wool slaughterhouses (or in our case small/medium farms) produce. There are producers who raised sheep just for high quality wool whose meat you wouldn't really want to eat..

Probably a Wasgij! They're awesome! Sometimes it's like you described, sometimes the box cover is people reacting to the scene you have to put together in the puzzle, sometimes you uncover a mystery. I have like 10 of these, they're my favorite vacation pastime if I'm not traveling or something.

Yeah désuet and flâneur are as common in French as abandoned and loiterer are in English. I'd say only the first word describes something that there isn't another common word for.

I've been listening to Led Zep my whole life, own their albums on vinyl, can sing along to every song off of the first four albums, have covered them in more than one band.

Gun to my head? I couldn't name more than a couple songs.

Between having a terrible memory and listening to entire albums over individual songs I can't make songs from any band I love, hell, half the time I couldn't name the album. I try to listen to a few new albums every week, how the hell can I remember all that? I spent four hours trying to find a solo I heard last month to show my girlfriend, listening to every album I've listened to since then, she stopped caring long before I found it.

I don't know where I was going with this, but if a douchebag pulled the shit from the comic on me I think I'd beat him to death with my original Zeppelin II pressing.
