PsychedSy ,

There are devices that listen for phone traffic.

PsychedSy ,

I'll start with the start. Maybe?

Biggest issue is teachers using phones.

PsychedSy ,

We can still build our own!

PsychedSy ,

They go much faster than that if you're willing to drop 5 or 6k. There's a reason youtubers wear full riding gear on some of them.

PsychedSy ,

I'm just happy there's at least one thing I agree with this community about.

PsychedSy ,

Otherwise we'd use a drone and a rocket.

PsychedSy ,

Bit of a waste to have someone learn how to mod properly then have them leave, no?

PsychedSy ,

Take care of yourself. I hope things chill out a bit for you.

PsychedSy ,

I mean...I'm more or less normally functioning. I'd give it a whirl then start building a drone army.

Fuck. We could have a real Rat King even!

PsychedSy ,

There's more to federal elections than winning. It's always hilarious when people that don't understand how fucked our system is try to teach others.

PsychedSy ,

100%. But ballot access, federal funding, and being able to actually run spoilers locally are pretty important.

PsychedSy ,

What? Seven years for an apartment? I know people that buy and sell their homes more often than that.

PsychedSy ,

That's wild.

PsychedSy ,

What timing. I turned 41 this week.

PsychedSy ,

The fuck you are. You're the last class of last millennium.

PsychedSy ,

I don't know if I'm okay celebrating a cyclist, but happy bday!

PsychedSy ,

It requires us to ignore the government and begin setting up the systems and communities we want and need.

PsychedSy ,

Superglue: Turn your hands into mittens!

PsychedSy ,

Should be with GHB and DXM. Dissociatives are fun.

PsychedSy ,

For some reason I thought it was rolls of prepreg. I don't know that I've ever seen raw tows used with separate resin.

PsychedSy ,

That's insane. No NDI then as well. Just fucking suicidal.

PsychedSy ,

Any serious issue should have a paper trail of some sort. Emails, meetings, part rejections, that sort of thing. There are processes in place to allow anonymous reporting of some of these things.

PsychedSy ,

The issue here is that they lack the self awareness to say, "maybe my hangups about certain things people say are a product of my own upbringing and sensitivities, rather than any intentional antisemitism on their part."

Ah, yes. The suggestion that racial minorities just get over it. Don't we determine racism based on the experiences and opinions of the victims?

PsychedSy ,

Economies are pretty big, complicated things. It's easy to state an ethical standard you have, but it's very hard to find a good way to do it.

PsychedSy ,

The retaliation isn't even the story here. Interference with delegated FAA responsibilities is, and the FAA should be handling it. Any type of delegation interference is a serious issue.

PsychedSy ,

I mean, yeah. But from someone in the industry, delegation is fucking huge and we wouldn't fly without it.

Take my words for what they're worth: not much. I've been a delegated source inspector for GE and I've dealt with delegated FAA peeps and auditors. Delegation is a big deal. You basically don't work for your employer while you're in a delegated role. The idea of either interfering or retaliating for delegated authority is insane. Especially with FAA delegation.

PsychedSy ,

A principled stance is a principled stance.

PsychedSy ,

What principle would lead someone to support segregation?

PsychedSy ,

Ah. Free association is what it'd be called by libertarians. I see what you mean now.

Was he against government-forced segregation?

I'm kind of bad in these situations (from a libertarian perspective) because I tend to refuse to worry about things I like the outcome of.

If you and I had incredibly similar views on how people should behave, and we both put time and money into achieving those outcomes, but I didn't support using violence (libertarian reductionist view of government), does that mean I support things I'm ostensibly fighting personally?

PsychedSy ,

Is consistency fanatical?

I'd call it radical for sure.

PsychedSy ,

I'm talking pure theory/ethics now. What I'd support politically will vary.

I agree with free association and, to some degree, property rights. I don't think my "yeah, fuck racists" stance is principled.

PsychedSy ,

Same, but now my brother has our retired father and I have our mom.

It's not perfect, but my dog loves having a human around all day.

PsychedSy ,

I use drill motors for a fucking reason. Without AGI it's a fancy NC machine.

PsychedSy ,

Same here. I'm blue collar so I only do it at work if someone fucks up and gives me access to an interpreter. Or I suck it up and use powershell or excel then drink vodka and cut myself when I get home.

PsychedSy ,

Prince Andrew is furiously investing in this as we speak.

PsychedSy ,

We can't all have 6 different gas lines run to each building or even to each street to choose who to buy from.

Can you think of no other ways to deliver gas than running six pipes?

When everything becomes electric, we'll have plenty of utility room to spare. Locking us into a different type of monopoly won't allow room for innovation or advancement.

PsychedSy ,

The minimum standards would be set based on regulatory capture in very many municipalities. I don't think it would be worse than jank monopolies, at least. I don't know that the speed (or incentives) of either is something I trust with keeping up technologically.

Moving from a monopoly to a municipality doesn't help when the standards they set are super strict.

PsychedSy ,

Or they spend money to make them over regulate. Yeah. If we can't even control local politicians now, how do you propose we do close that bit of fuckery?

PsychedSy ,

Can we do that without any masters? Do we really have to choose one?

PsychedSy ,

I absolutely can.

Venture capitalists shouldn't exist. Our laws shouldn't insulate people from liability.

PsychedSy ,

I don't fully know what that should look like but I can say for sure we've tested a lot of ideas that aren't that, and that we should try some new things because what were doing now isn't working.

We're on the same page.

PsychedSy ,

What's the difference between private and government?

We want voluntary associations, yea? So we work with/in our communities. We can choose larger or smaller municipalities or companies, but we don't violate the local, voluntary bits.

PsychedSy ,

Perl? I had fun compiling perl from source back in the day.

PsychedSy ,

Oh oh. Gotcha. Imagine not being able to make an emergency phone call until it settled down.
