If a sample image is "making some women feel unwelcome in the field" you may be too sensitive for life.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

It's a woman looking over their shoulder

SocialMediaRefugee ,

You wouldn't know unless someone told you though

SocialMediaRefugee ,

If you thought making this comment was a good idea you might need to get a grip on life.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

We need to modify the DMCA to truly address this

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Be careful what you wish for though. Electronics, and software in particular, rapidly drop in reliability as the parts stray from tightly restricted boundaries and become open to anyone. "Hey, this app crashes on my phone now." Repairing a phone too wouldn't be cheap either, you'd have to have someone soldering and resoldering a very fine circuit board. I think most people would just replace it.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

You don't understand how consumer goods work

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Well you don't own the games and they are just games

SocialMediaRefugee ,

For anyone wondering what the videos were:

In a just-unsealed case from Kentucky reviewed by Forbes, undercover cops sought to identify the individual behind the online moniker “elonmuskwhm,” who they suspect of selling bitcoin for cash, potentially running afoul of money laundering laws and rules around unlicensed money transmitting.

This is the norm for any big business. The top dogs will be wildly paid even if the company is struggling. They'll get a big fat payday even if they get kicked out (golden parachute). Hell, even the bosses in the NYC Public Library system are pulling in close to a million bucks a year even as they talk about cutting services.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

They get paid in moderator power trips. "What did you say? Banning..."

SocialMediaRefugee ,

The press will make you paranoid about everyone. If it bleeds it leads.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Asking someone a question is now tantamount to a threat? wtf?

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Some people are oblivious to signs. A guy may be on the spectrum too. This is why growing up socializing is so important but with the internet we are more isolated from social cues than ever before.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

I knew you'd show up. Try learning about human communication. Thanks for replying as predicted! ♥

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Which one gets more views? Trump gets supporters and angry opponents watching, Bernie barely gets supporters watching. Their job is to sell ads and therefore need viewers.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Trump runs on "shaking the status quo" though, just not in a way we would support.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Approximately 1/3 of all food produced is wasted.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Same here. I didn't care after watching the 1st season. It was very meh.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

As an IT guy I have a case of "familiarity breeds contempt" when it comes to tech. A lot of it feels unnecessary and overcomplicates things and increases the chance of a failure.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

The first time I tried using android auto in a rental car I hated it. The damn thing would disconnect constantly and there was no safe way to restart or reconnect it while driving, I had to pull over somewhere. The car's screen controlled things like the radio and AC so I had to constantly take my eyes off of the road to adjust anything.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

I have a love/hate relationship with phone touch screens. On the one hand it enables us to have controls that would be impossible on a phone, like selecting a point on a map, infinite variety of button controls, etc. On the other hand I can't tell you how many times I've barely brushed the screen by accident and the damn thing is off doing something I didn't want. "NO! DON'T SHUT OFF THE APP YOU....sigh"

SocialMediaRefugee ,

But I still took your soul anyway. I'm Satan for Christ's sake!

SocialMediaRefugee ,

People have to do due diligence to check that they are getting the best value. I don't assume what is presented to me is automatically the best. This suit seems like they expect the seller to promote the best deal without them doing any price comparisons which is ridiculous.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

I always price compare regardless of the search results. Mindlessly clicking isn't a good idea.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

They don't produce anything except some numbers. A total waste of energy. I had to laugh when this guy I know who is very "progressive" and environmentally concerned got pissy when I pointed out how much energy was wasted on bitcoin mining just because he was into it.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

I'd hope you'd know what you were spending this much money on if it wasn't just for online attention.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

"Just park it next to the others."

SocialMediaRefugee ,

He only has 6, he needs 1 more for Sundays

SocialMediaRefugee ,

The situations that drive me nuts are the conspiracy idiots who zoom in super hard on some heavily compressed image they pulled off of the web. They then proceed to claim that compression artifacts, optical flares, noise, etc are evidence of whatever crap they are pushing.

Taking things out of context is another issue. It has become painfully common online. I would see it all the time when pushing the "all police are bad!" narrative. They will deliberately edit out the violence that triggered the arrest then make it look like the arrest was unwarranted and overly physical. People will do this with dashcam videos and show road rage but edit out the part where they triggered it with their own aggression.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

How do we know your scale is right?

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Well you were high so we can't be sure about those numbers

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Either that or you insult them for not knowing the answer already, tell them to google it (then why does this forum exist?) or get mad because they did know that their question had already been answered in a forum post in 2019.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

If you truly understand a subject you like helping newbs, not insulting them. It is people who know just enough to sound like they do but are desperate to look like experts who are the biggest pricks.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Gaming communities can be incredibly bad. Everyone else is a jerk or moron who wasn't born knowing that doing X increases your DPS by 2.3% on alternate Tuesdays. DUH

SocialMediaRefugee ,

I bought some steel dental picks because I'm so sick of having stuff get jammed between my teeth. Nuts aren't much better, they will always break into perfect little pyramid like bits that fit right between your molars and are impossible to remove with your tongue or even fingernail.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Well the abscess gang is on its way

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Won't someone please think about Nintendo!?

I wonder if they send a person out to make sure he is eating gruel.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

IP gets more protection than human beings

SocialMediaRefugee ,

America always needs a boogeyman. Maybe having all infrastructure connected to the internet and letting security sloppy contractors open access isn't a good idea either.

Meanwhile US citizens go without healthcare.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

The US wants a fight with China to justify our perpetual military buildup and foreign reach.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

I can't blame China for wanting Taiwan back. Imagine if we had a civil war and a foreign military invaded and occupied Alaska during a war just before it. Then at the end of the war one side fled to Alaska and declared it independant but we couldn't retake it because we were so debilitated from the civil war and the war before it. Now a foreign government steps in and says you can't retake your territory because they said so. I'd be pissed too.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

China is still mostly poor and rural. For all of their economic expansion things are still basic there for most people.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Well the Japanese took Taiwan from China and then the nationalists fled China and took it over during the handover. No one asked the Chinese natives originally there if they wanted to separate from China.

We fought a civil war to keep the nation together.

SocialMediaRefugee ,

Well a powerful economic base is the foundation of a superpower. The US leans on General Dynamics, Raytheon, countless contractors, etc. China has no base as extensive as that.
