Nah I'm good.

I currently drive on a daily basis a Toyota Corolla.. I purchased it for the sake of saving as much money as possible overall with said vehicle. I'm 6'0 245lbs - not obese mind you... and I'm genuinely tired of getting in and out of that car. Absofkinlutely NO way am I buying another sedan. Next vehicle is a big boy full sized SUV or pickup truck. I want to climb into my vehicle not damn near tear my knee just trying to get into my vehicle.

StaySquared ,

Damn that's crazy. I also own a Honda Odyssey (Mini-van) and that has a lot of room. I've driven in Yukons, Suburbans, Tahoes, Sierras, and Escalades, all of these vehicles feel incredibly roomy. However, I'd rather stick to Toyota, just haven't gotten into a Tundra or Sequoia.

StaySquared ,

Car tech today spies on you. Manufacture of said car collects that data and then sells it to lexisnexis, who then sells that data to auto insurance companies. Which in turn analyze the data and determine to upcharge you for your driving.

They'll never lower the rate, they'll just keep raising it until you finally become a pirate and drive dirty.

Thanks Ford, for your American patriotism. Fker.

StaySquared ,

Oh for sure you'll have to move to another insurance company to hopefully get a better rate. But your current insurance company, never ever lowers the rate unless you had tickets in the recent past and those tickets fell off your record. That's the only time I've ever experience my rate lower and it was roughly $40 less per month.

StaySquared ,

Yeah supposedly we in the U.S. have this... but it's BS. Or maybe the option does exist but I was never given a discount with a clean driving record of 8 years.

StaySquared ,

If you play close attention to the "power' of your toilets flush... you'll notice when it's getting close to a clog. That flush will make you second guess something isn't right. And if your neglect it, you will sooner or later realize it was in fact on its way to clog.

The life of a homeowner. Many of you have NO idea the amount of chit you need to learn and pay attention to on a daily basis to make sure your home is well maintained. Adulting fkin sucks.

StaySquared ,

Oh jees... welp it was great while it lasted.

StaySquared , (edited )

It's amazing that the whole of humanity, or at the very least the United States citizens haven't realized that we're being played. We're being told we need to fit into this specific group or that specific group causing division. When citizens aren't able to unite, they are more easily controllable. Identity politics is chit and so are the fans who perpetuate division.

The only time, two opposing sides agreed... FJB

StaySquared ,

lol yeah I'm going to stick to Apple.. As long as Apple cares about security, I'll continue to use their products. IDGAF about Tesla or X, quite frankly.

StaySquared ,

Last nearly forever? That needs to be broken down into details. Aren't batteries for EV limited to about 10 years of use? And they're a costly replacement?

A good solution would be to make EV batteries easily swappable instead of "charge stations"...

StaySquared ,

20-30 years for rubber...

You have way too much confidence. Have you owned a car for 10+ years? Almost everything rubber - especially within the suspension system needs replacement within the first 10 years of wear and tear.

StaySquared ,

Can Adobe be used on a machine that's sandboxed / offline? That way you can do your projects while disconnected from their servers, once the project is complete, just move your files onto an external drive and away from Adobe access?

StaySquared ,

Hm.. I wouldn't think you'd need a VM, rather just disable your ethernet card, disable/disconnect wifi, or unplug ethernet cable.

StaySquared ,

Wow.. it's like Microsoft really does want to lose customers. Welp.. I guess I have to find a linux distro as my main driver. Ubuntu seems so damn user friendly and "mainstream" I might just stick to that. I'd play around with ArchLinux or Fedora, but fkin lol at a noob trying to setup either one through terminal/commands.

StaySquared ,

Oh nice! I think it was around 2018 when I attempted to install Arch. I'll check it out again sometime this week.

StaySquared ,

Noted!

StaySquared ,

Amazing how these big corps hate freedom.

StaySquared ,

X is.. dead? That's news to me.

As of 2023, there are approximately 556 million active monthly users on X. As of April 2024, X receives around 6.1 billion visits per month.Apr 25, 2024

What... reality do you live in?

StaySquared ,

I could be wrong, but I thought Elon had a campaign to eliminate bots from X? Not sure if that ever took place though or if it's in the process of.

StaySquared ,

No one knows. Apparently all the bigots on X are the bots.

That's the best that has been done /shrug

Plus, who really gives a fk about X if you're not even using X? I don't know why the hardon for the community size of X.

StaySquared ,

Sadly there's really no other search engine with a database as big as Google. We goofed by heavily relying on Google.

StaySquared ,

Interesting.. sadly paid service.

I use perplexity, I just have to get into the habit of not going straight to google for my searches.

The ugly truth behind ChatGPT: AI is guzzling resources at planet-eating rates (www.theguardian.com)

Despite its name, the infrastructure used by the “cloud” accounts for more global greenhouse emissions than commercial flights. In 2018, for instance, the 5bn YouTube hits for the viral song Despacito used the same amount of energy it would take to heat 40,000 US homes annually....

StaySquared , (edited )

Of course it would.. lmao are you kidding me? Have you never seen a server farm? Hell NSA has huge warehouses of servers.

Last year, before I joined this organization, IT decided to get off Microsoft's cloud service because after some calculations they realize that on-prem hosting was significantly cheaper than cloud hosting. Now I believe more and more organizations small and large/enterprise are getting off cloud or doing a mixture / hybrid because the costs are not justifiable.

And for AI? Requiring GPUs? Huge energy consumers.

StaySquared ,

If this truly works.. lol that's amazing.

StaySquared ,

Alright let's put in our bets.

I've got $50 on JIDF behind the DDoS attack.

StaySquared ,

Hopefully this will get more people into looking at Linux as their OS.

StaySquared ,

Wooo... glad I stopped investing into video games about a decade ago. Between this and Ubisoft's, "DEI" into their video games lol.. fk the whack gaming industry.

StaySquared ,

Sorry, I can't explain (in detail) why because my comment will be deleted and more than likely banned. Let's just say that if I was still playing Assassin's Creed franchise, what Ubisoft has done pretty much would make me stop investing further into the franchise.

I'm not interested getting into it nor defending my opinion, it is what it is.

StaySquared ,

I.. don't care about the race of a character in Assassin's Creed.. lol it's a fkin video game, bro. As if I've never played Final Fantasy with different "species" and skin colors for lack of a better term.
Psssst I'm Latino. I have family members who look straight up Black to the typical plebian.

StaySquared ,

It's not because a character is Black. DEI is not just about race.

smh.

StaySquared ,

Proud snowflakes, that's why.

StaySquared ,

lol.. in the Bay (Northern California), E-Bikes would be left abandoned on the side walks and parking lots. I never seen the organization that provides these e-bikes have someone or a team drive around and pick them up..

All I assume is that the e-bikes are used up until their battery is dead and they're left abandoned right on the spot. I assume the battery has enough life in it still to be located and picked up and placed back into their charging stations.

Edit: Wait not e-bikes, e-scooters.

CEO of Google Says It Has No Solution for Its AI Providing Wildly Incorrect Information (futurism.com)

You know how Google's new feature called AI Overviews is prone to spitting out wildly incorrect answers to search queries? In one instance, AI Overviews told a user to use glue on pizza to make sure the cheese won't slide off (pssst...please don't do this.)...

StaySquared ,

Maybe Google should put a disclaimer... warning people it's not 100% accurate. Or.. just take down the technology because clearly their AI is chit tier.

StaySquared ,

Looks like Google stopped the AI feature. No more AI suggestions at the top of the page after searching for something.

StaySquared ,

Wish more and more people knew about Linux phones and degoogled phones.

StaySquared ,

Sadly technology companies are going to slowly force us into using AI technology. For example, Apple's iOS update 18 will incorporate AI.

StaySquared ,

Interesting... it lasted for about 10 days.

StaySquared ,

What's there to complain about? I thought X was a chit hole for fascists, nazis, and right-wingers? Isn't reddit good enough?

StaySquared ,

So with halal, animals are not stuffed into big metal buildings where the temperature can reach 130-140 degrees fahrenheit (if not higher). They are not beaten. They are not tortured. They do not have any part of them removed for any reason (for example chicken beaks). These animals are treated humanely. They are fed what they are meant to be fed, most times left to graze on their own. Generally they are not slaughtered at an early stage but there's no age restriction as well. Lastly animals are not to be slaughtered in front of other animals / witnessed by other animals.

I've seen how Intensive farms operate.. it's fkin disgusting and just awful. The only other option I have besides halal/kosher is going to an actual local farm buying a cow and having it slaughtered in a halal manner, then butchered and packed. The farm I've gone to is very humane in their animal husbandry. You can actually visit these farms and see for yourself the treatment of their animals, then decide if that's where you'd like to purchase your animal from. It is true, there's local farmers that do treat their animals humanely. I've seen it in NE Oregon, Northern California, and Michigan. And of course deer/elk hunting.

StaySquared ,

Pat yourself on the back.

StaySquared ,

It's kind of funny... everyone using AI right now are just beta testers who aren't getting paid to beta test said AI. Better yet, many people are actually paying subscriptions to be beta testers of said AI. Kind of like buying name brand clothes with their logo on the front and or back.. you're just advertising and not getting paid for it. A bunch of walking billboards lol.

StaySquared ,

Ooof... My filter is just set to "New".. I dunno. Thanks!

StaySquared ,

Yes, without a doubt Microsoft Windows is malware. And soon will introduce to us, adware. Yaaaay.

Fk Microsoft and it's decision makers.

StaySquared ,

The same is happening with some of these new "smart" vehicles. Built-in software in these vehicles are the anti-thesis of freedom and privacy.
