In the books yen uses magic to hide her hunchback and ugliness. Geralt being a Witcher and therefore trained/experienced to analyse magic in front of him quickly sees through the illusion. If the show had the character look uglier to begin with then that's probably a result of adapting the books. I haven't watched the show as I don't really like adaptations. Btw it's not just Yen that uses magic to hide ugliness either, almost all other sorceresses do as well in the books including Triss.

I look for sneaky and if there's isn't one try to create a sneaky route, fuck that up and alert everyone then kill all enemies. First time I played Human Revolution I took the tranq gun and went through vents. Came out of the vents and got seen straight away and then had to use a tranq gun with everyone swarming at me. I do the same shit in dishonored too, try to be stealthy, usually fuck it up at first then go on a killing spree. Ironically I love stealth games and I've been playing them for years and have found memories of Splinter Cell and MGS.

Yup. I've ulcerative colitis and every fucking time I've mentioned it I inevitably get people trying to give me "advice" despite me making it clear that I don't want or need it. Fuck, I even had one asshole tell me not to fucking take medical advice and go on a medication which I have done and it's fucking got rid of my flare up that I've had since January.

I've had someone tell me that I shouldn't have dairy because their wife has UC and she can't have dairy, I have an IBD nurse that I can contact for advice and she has told me that dairy is potentially ok and I've been having dairy since I've been out of hospital for 3 weeks and it's done nothing to me. I've had people tell me to eat healthier yet when having a flare up I can't have fibre, onions, garlic, vegetables in general (unless they're mush like) anything with seeds in it, potato skins, red meat and food high in fat. basically I'm restricted to white meat, rice and potatoes (without skin so like mash) and white breads. The only people I listen to to deal with my chronic illness is my consultant and my nurse, everyone else can fuck off.

I've nothing really to add but the gta game was San Andreas and Take Two replaced the already functional ports with the mobile version so all that's available now is the shitey mobile version. I own/owned it on PS4/5 and PC and now I don't play it at all because if I redownload it I'm getting the mobile version.

I feel ya. I was diagnosed with IBD (ulcerative colitis) 3 years ago and never really had any issues. This year I've been in hospital twice and have learnt that it can cause lactose intolerance to develop and that there's overlap with IBS so there are foods which can give me explosive diarrhea. 3 years I wasn't overly cautious and now I'll be making sure I check ingredient lists and understand them and actually learn what foods are triggers. Likewise I wasn't told about lactose intolerance or the IBS overlap.

My monitor states it does HDR but the nits are like only the bare minimum for it to be labelled as having HDR that it's not worth using. My tv on the other hand supports hdr10+ and Dolby vision so actually does look worthwhile.

Yep. I was interested when I saw the first trailer on the playstation state of play before it was named as stellar blade then the second trailer put me off as eves design made me think teenage boys wet dream and I didn't like the art design outside the city as it was just shades of brown. Now I've read reviews and it looks like something I might enjoy just not at the current price so wait for a sale now.

Basically any that appeals. My biggest issue when I last used Linux with gaming was getting non steam games working through bottles or lutris, I had no idea how to set them up. Steam and proton played almost all of my library and worked well.

If copyright law is involved then you're looking at 70 years after the author's death or 95 years depending on which expires first for it to be public domain and only the original iteration is released into the public domain. That's for the USA and different countries have different laws and I'd imagine that would complicate things massively as an online library would have to be compliant with various laws of different countries

So take Mickey Mouse for example he's now in the public domain but only in his original form in the Steamboat Willie cartoon, anything that uses something more recent than that like his red shorts for example would be taken down.

I love the NHS in my country. I'm currently in hospital right now and the staff are fucking amazing but it's underfunded so I got stuck in an isolation room all of Saturday after being transferred to another hospital. Anyway the staff isn't the problem, it's the lack of support and funding that's killing the quality of the service which everyone i.e patients, staff, even politicians all agree on.

    Homelessness doesn't just mean looking like a bum on the streets. Shocked a European wouldn't be aware that all homelessness is not having a steady place to live, that includes people in hostels that are addicts or victims of various abuse. That includes 18 year olds told to leave the nest and stand on their own two feet when they've nothing actually lined up. That includes people who are couch surfing because they have an unsafe family home.

    Homelessness is incredibly easy to fall into when situations spiral out of control. I'm long term unemployed (looking for employment though) with no savings but I live with my dad and if my dad kicked the bucket today then I would lose the home I grew up in and would have to get in touch with relevant authorities to be put on a waiting list that lasts years for somewhere to live.

When I came out to people at 17, the usual reaction was disbelief then followed up by questioning (being asked how did I know?) basically people were asking how sexually active I was.     Ai is definitely making things worse. When I was at school there was no tool for creating a deep fake of girls, now boys sneek a pic and use an app to undress them. That then gets shared, girls find out and obviously become distressed. Without ai boys would have to either sneak into toilets/changing rooms or psychically remove girls clothes. Neither of which was happening at such a large degree in a school before as it would create a shit show.

    Also most jurisdictions don't actually have strict AI laws yet which is making it harder for authorities to deal with. If you genuinely believe that AI isn't at fault here then you're ignorant of what's happening around the world.

    That's an article about one company that provides an app for deep fakes. It's a shell corp so not easy to shut down through the law and arrest people, also hundreds of teenage girls have been affected by others creating non consensual nudes of them.
