Moneybags over here affording one beer at a bar in 2024.

clearleaf ,

Reminds me of this but it might be the artist's version of jersey devil or the chupacabra.

My area is able to keep them open for about 7 total minutes yearly.

This is a recent one that came up, but this happens every few months. If payment processors just did their jobs there wouldn't be as much of a need for other ways to do transactions. It's also still a pain in the ass to send money to individuals in other countries even when everything works the way it's intended.

Alt+255 gives you an invisible character but I'm on a phone so I can't check if that fixes George.

clearleaf ,

A lot of front ends strip it out since it can be used in so many disruptive ways.

In my app I don't see the space normally, but when I reply to your comment it shows a focused view which DOES seem to show the space.

I don't get how someone can worry about this when they're in a relationship. There's clearly nothing that wrong with them if they have living proof of the opposite standing right there.

clearleaf ,

I'm on your side sealbro. I don't know how anyone could not be.

Reminder that your google account has a name which is not just your email address. If you don't use google's other services besides gmail and youtube, you probably don't remember what it is. And you probably put in something stupid if not completely offensive. If you suddenly have to use google docs or something, people will see it.

clearleaf ,

That game was an instant classic.

clearleaf ,

I call these puzzle box games because that's what they remind me of and nobody else has a name for them yet. There's one called Void Stranger that nobody ever talks about. Baba Is You is popular but nobody has mentioned it here yet. I think it's sad as hell that people let their dislike of Phil Fish ruin Fez for them. That's a really good game.

The dream used to be one device that does everything but I've backed away from that mentality hard. I even have two separate PCs now with nothing syncing between them.

clearleaf ,

The idea of this being drawn on paper is way more chilling than it being made on a computer for some reason.

clearleaf ,

It's amazing how far this guy got as a complete hack. The way people turned on him wasn't triggered by some dark secret being revealed. Everybody just had their own moment of thinking "wait a second, is this person actually a huge dipshit? Oh my god he is." I never saw conversations about it or any kind of viral anti NDT sentiment spreading around. It's just a conclusion everyone reached by themselves. It's like he had some kind of spell on everyone and ran out of mana around 2015 or so.

clearleaf ,

Should have given him the batista bomb.

I'm pretty sure Tim Hortons has had access to AI menu changes for years now. It would explain a lot.

Inconveniencing rich assholes: The new MAGA?

How inconveniencing rich assholes is used to distract you from the real problem

"Inconveniencing rich assholes" is an oversimplification. Here's why you shouldn't even try to understand, and should just forget all about it.

clearleaf ,

What's the difference between this and the average lemmy user?

clearleaf ,

Gaming on lower resolution because 480p just feels like home.

clearleaf ,

And then it's blurry because technology is amazing.

clearleaf ,

They change the interface pretty much every day. The people managing the image search are especially on crack. Features are disabled and then come back and then they're disabled and then they come back... I just go to Bing now. I'm sorry my desire to search square images was such a monkey wrench in your business model google.

clearleaf ,

The bottom left is a tuxedo cat and it wouldn't kill us to have a leader with some class and dignity for once.

clearleaf ,

There was never a reason to fear him. Everybody just assumes he broke that bridge because he happened to be nearby, and now people blame him for all kinds of crap calling him a bad omen when all he wants to do is eat cotton watch and lighttube.

clearleaf ,

Meanwhile the PS4 hasn't even reached the former stage of it's life cycle.

clearleaf ,

Every day can be a celebration of murder for americans.

clearleaf ,

Yesterday I saw five posts in a row that were either about wanting to commit murder in the future or celebrating past murders. Which is fine but gets cringe in excess especially from people who will never do anything. Then there was this post that looked like it was about something else but then he tied it back into murder again with comedic timing.

clearleaf ,

Sometimes it's their own folder in their own sandboxed app directory. A lot of apps do that now to avoid permissions issues. Like the GBA emulator I use no longer puts game saves in the user's root directory so you can't even see them without a USB connection to a PC, and even if you do that it's extreme obfuscated.

clearleaf ,

Hey did you work with any of the fuchsia people who got laid off? Do you know if the project is planned to be cancelled any time soon?

clearleaf ,

Left wing = people I like

Right wing = people I associate with my high school bullies

clearleaf ,

Youtube plays ads on music like sublime smokes joints. You can be on the hook for 4 ads total if you don't manually rewind a music video before it ends.

clearleaf ,

Are these transcriptions auto generated or are they hand written every time? It's funny seeing such dry and academic descriptions of goofy images.

clearleaf ,

Not even two the same size pair of pants from the same company are the same size. Unless they're giving the actual measurements I've never found clothing sizes to have any meaning whatsoever.

clearleaf ,

If you don't like science go live in the woods.

clearleaf ,

I think this is part of why Google holds on to youtube despite it not making them money. Without that Google would just be the map and email company. They would completely lose the appearance of "owning" any part of the internet.

clearleaf ,

They had that in win10 as well for about a week and then they took it away hoping nobody noticed it so it could be a win11 feature instead.

clearleaf ,

I don't understand how devs can be too lazy to write documentation but somehow they'd rather explain the same shit in discord over and over and over and over and over and over
