I fully agree with this sentiment as a trans person. I could very much see this quest ā€˜cracking someoneā€™s eggā€™ (i.e. realising theyā€™re trans).

Theres a type of frilly dress and shoes I really like that i think would look really good if i grew out my beard

I have a friend thatā€™s a cis man who has a gorgeous beard and likes to be fluid with his presentation as well. He loves wearing cute dresses and mary janeā€™s, and always has rlly pretty nails.

You should absolutely rock that look. Iā€™m really here for people wearing whatever makes them the most happy, the concept of gendering clothes is just dumb.

Yeah I mean, thereā€™s a bunch of people that prefer this anyway IME.

ā€¦ā€¦.the heck did you get that interpretation from? Itā€™s kink, itā€™s a kink joke, the set-up in the original pic is almost certainly at a play party. The joke is mostly like ā€œuwu soft girl but actually sheā€™s gonna strap you down to a table and bully you teheā€ in my eyes. Either that or force you to wear nappies. Or both.

Donā€™t forget about Estradot patches. Itā€™s bioidentical like injections without the fuss. I donā€™t know about the US but I pay $6.80/month for mine.

What do you mean by this? My T levels have been in the average female range for more than five years now. I donā€™t even take blockers, estrogen + progesterone take care of it on their own.

I also never had male range T levels, they were always somewhere halfway between the two.

Microsoft stole my Chrome tabs, and it wants yours, too (www.theverge.com)

Last week, I turned on my PC, installed a Windows update, and rebooted to find Microsoft Edge automatically open with the Chrome tabs I was working on before the update. I donā€™t use Microsoft Edge regularly, and I have Google Chrome set as my default browser. Bleary-eyed at 9AM, it took me a moment to realize that Microsoft...

You arenā€™t really over simplifying that much. IE was installed, but on first launch it loaded a website called BrowserChoice.eu where you could pick a different browser to install. It would change the default browser setting and remove IE shortcuts. The order of the browserā€™s was randomised similar to the way an election ballot usually is.

Microsoft set it up to comply with an EU decision in 2010, only on devices sold in the EU. However, it was only required until December 2014, so Microsoft quietly discontinued it in an update. The functionality was never included in Edge.

Edit: the 90s-00s anti-trust stuff with Microsoft and IE wasnā€™t just about IE being the default in Windows. It was also because they forced Apple to include it on Mac OS as the default, otherwise theyā€™d stop developing Office for Mac. They also stipulated that Apple couldnā€™t develop their own competing browser and Safari wasnā€™t born until later.

Ironic that Apple went on to do the same thing with Safari, and more importantly the WebKit engine, on iOS. Plus now trying to force its competitors to either continue using Webkit, or maintain two seperate versions of their apps. One for within the EU and one for everywhere else

If youā€™ve got a few windows machines on your network and some sysadmin skills, you can run a Zentyal server to set up the GPOs. Syncs across your machines, and you can add a new one at any time that will also get de-shittified instantly.

What happens if you drop off a thousand Motorola Xoom tablet PCs in a village with kids who have never even seen a printed word? Within five months, theyā€™ll have taught themselves to customize the software, reactivate disabled features and, perhaps, start down the path of learning to read.

Even this first paragraph by the author. These kids clearly already know how to fucking read, thereā€™s written words in the background of the photos, including stuff that looks written by a child.

    princessnorah ,
    @princessnorah@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

That line reads like some Boomer who has no idea how computers work. Doing what they did to those tablets required the prior ability to read.

I literally saw someone in a different thread about this earlier talking about ripping out their Liftmaster garage doors when they pulled a similar move last year.

You're Not Imagining It: Google Search Results Are Getting Worse, Study Finds (gizmodo.com)

For the past few years, a growing number of users, analysts, and experts raised alarms about a truth that feels obvious to a lot of people who surf around in web browsers: the quality of Google results is in serious decline. Google disagrees.

The argument the company makes is that it allows them to sell the device for cheaper upfront, which means that more people can afford to have one. They sell them for $400. But also fuck them, nobody ever died from HP disabling printers.

That itā€™s against the noise curfew? Which ends at 7am on weekdays and 9am on weekends and public holidays. There are ~12 dwellings within 50m of my backyard. I would be an arsehole to all of those people if I kept a rooster. In fact, Void, the black chicken in the picture, has a brother named McFly. When he started crowing at around four months, we drove him out to my friendā€™s place in the country. He can be as noisy as he wants out there, and is living his best life.

Thatā€™s definitely not true. They used that typeface and logo on their products way past ā€˜68. They still use that typeface and the logo was used until 2013: https://logos-world.net/philips-logo/

    Also thereā€™s no way thatā€™s a late 60s design. Hereā€™s a toaster of theirā€™s from the early 70s: https://soft-electronics.com/object/philips_toaster_hd_4127

I would say itā€™s a mid-80s to early-90s model if I had to take a guess. I had a go at finding it but wasnā€™t able too.

Yes, I would be one of them.

Thatā€™s worse mate! You said 5th amendment three bloody times, when you could have given the same advice without referencing it at all. Itā€™s not like saying ā€œ5th amendmentā€ is a neck verse or something. You can just say ā€œIā€™m choosing to invoke my right to not answer questions at this timeā€ and as a bonus, that works everywhere that has such a right, including the United States ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ
