I use Muzei and my wallpaper changes every half hour, so I'm not really affected.

But even if I was, so the fuck what? If you're sacrificing your personal enjoyment of your phone for privacy, you're either a secret agent or you're overly paranoid.

Most of us are running adblocking at the DNS level, so what exactly are you worried about?

Paranoia for the sake of paranoia is stupid!

There's a bunch of stuff on there that's just blatantly wrong regarding Navidrome and Symfonium.

sabreW4K3 ,
@sabreW4K3@lemmy.tf avatar

Why are you hosting it on git when there's tonnes of software literally made for this?

sabreW4K3 ,
@sabreW4K3@lemmy.tf avatar

I just assumed the author had a favourite, I didn't even think to edit it.

Navidrome supports Smart Playlists: https://github.com/navidrome/navidrome/issues/1417#issuecomment-1950625037 it's not feature complete, but it's live.

Symfonium also supports folder view, Most Played Song, Most Played Album, allows for Downloading music, as well as caching for offline usage, favourite tracks can be bookmarks, it has Internet radio support, supports lyrics and crossfading.

The entitlement regarding my lack of editing made me believe you were emotionally invested.

Bookstack seems quite popular around here.

That's at least ten things that are incorrect.

Western Digital My Cloud EX2 (Original) for storage

Raspberry Pi 5 for Home Assistant, Navidrome, Jellyfin, Kavita, Immich, Paperless and eventually NextCloud. Though it's being a bastard and won't run right now.

I need to get a Nano Pi to run OPNSense and Pi-Hole and I'll be happy.

My plan was to get one of those flying saucer looking WAPs to handle the WiFi. Would that work?

Runs off to look up LibreCMC 😂

There was a fault in the neighbourhood and Virgin make it so when their routers lose connection to the web, they kill all connections. It's annoying!

So if my internet goes down because there's an area fault, I can't, for example, scream movies from my NAS, because the router just refuses all connections. It's infuriating. Especially as the local Internet drops constantly due Virgin selling over capacity.

Basically something to improve quality. So from 192kbs to 320kbs

Can AI not do in the same way that it does with pictures?

Can AI or machine learning not do in the same way that it does with pictures?

It's funny you say that. I, as most people bought a bunch of CDs back in the day and ripped a bunch before I gave up my CD drive. At the time, storage was expensive and so I did what I could at the time with MP3. As storage gets cheaper (though not cheap enough for me to go lossless), I'd like to be able to upscale my music while keeping a similar file size and have my collection mature with me until storage becomes cheap enough for me to go lossless.

I can't be the only person who's thought of this.

Based on the little experience I have of the way you talk about audio, I can say without a doubt that whomever you teach will count themselves lucky. You're passionate and you speak clearly, not over complicating things nor dumbing them down. I'm going to definitely keep an eye out in the audio topics for your posts as well as keep my fingers crossed that you another chance to teach!

This was going to be my suggestion. Just run home assistant as a Docker container, problem solved!

There's alternative installation methods.

Is there a FOSS/privacy oriented IoT community?

Is there a community specific to FOSS or just general privacy oriented IoT? With plenty of hardware discussion along with software. Routers, piholes, Meshtastic, anything IoT but open source. If it touches a network but you want it to do something it doesn't. Flashing a doorbell camera with FOSS firmware. Hosting media servers...

I'm on mobile and autocomplete isn't available on this app, but there's some hardware specific communities. Also, this is Lemmy, I know that I appreciate cross-posting, so always do it when you can.

Need help converting dumb switches; one w/o any lights, one w/ Hue bulbs

I'm looking for a smart home solution use two switches in my living room (EU), in order to make them just smart enough so I can control some devices. The setup isn't very complex in itself, and I'm pretty sure it's doable - I'm just unsure what I'd need in order to use these switches in a 'smart' capacity......
