But they don't want to. They're only selling EVs of any sort to stay competitive and compliant with regulation. Toyota has all but said fuck EVs.

    This will close the dealer to person loophole where people who should be classified as dealers previously weren't. Straw purchases and person to person sales will still happen without the background checks.

    Why wouldn't it be? They already took the subsidy and got the green washing. They can switch back to the grid and move it to the expense line on the P&L. And sell the hardware to recoup the difference in cost the subsidy didn't cover.

    You can't just wait for government funds to come to you. You have to take it before your competition does. And if you exhaust the funds before they or anyone else can take advantage, you look better to the market. Stock price go up.

    I feel like i had a disappearing window like that a lifetime ago and the fix was to change the resolution.
    I don't know if that uncovered the void to the right or forced the window to reassign itself to usable space. But it worked then. Hell, it could have been windows for all I recall.

    My doubt about electric vehicles is based on my doubt that the automotive industry will produce a quality product at a reasonable price. They're no different than any other short-term profit based business.

    My first car didn't have a blower in the air conditioning system. It worked off of convection. The first winter I drove it, I'd roll down the window and stick my head out into the weather.

    I had that experience a few updates back. But it eventually allowed to set a preferred browser again in addition to allowing opening office files in the desktop app.
