With win10 you should be able to click the small text to get a local account but yeah I think with newer win11 installers you have to be off the internet for a local account. And then when you do log in with your MS account to save your license (important when using a Win7 OEM key to license win10) it would convert your profile to online, and then you had to "do steps" to put it back to local. Annoying af

Also prompting me to download a .bin

stratosfear ,

I am on Android mobile. Firefox only prompts to download downloadfile.bin. Duckduckgo browser actually opens the file contents. I'll post it here, since I'm getting it from public I'm hoping that's okay. This is the content...

stratosfear ,

It's working now. I did reset my router today to get IPv6 working for me, so unsure if that changed anything or in was on your end, but FYI.

stratosfear ,

Everywhere in the middle east? Where else?

stratosfear ,

Use your words. Where else in the middle east have we installed dictators? You said "everywhere" so I'd like some details and not just hyperbole....

stratosfear ,

So not "everywhere," and you call me lazy. Hyperbole taints your message.

Are you sure the US is not a puppet of Britain, or Israel? I mean you really can't say exactly who's pulling the strings.

And still, what does this have to do with Tucker and Putin?

stratosfear ,

Haha, my bad, got confused between threads. Honest mistake ¯\(ツ)/¯

stratosfear ,

Too bad all my friends and family use a stupid iphone 😑

stratosfear ,

No, it's not (remove the i)

stratosfear ,

You misspelled utopia. Not sure what reality you'd expect humans to create a stateless and classless "communism" outside the hippie commune out in the woods.

The comment you replied to even said "at a national scale." That's the rub, isn't it?

stratosfear ,

Well I won't fault you for being an optimist.

stratosfear ,

The Shield Software Experience is version 9. The Android version is 11.

I so don't want to be thinking about this but just to give the benefit of the doubt let's say they are physically incapable of tucking. Even on a "long" toilet. Which, I've for sure seen people in public where I've considered how people accomplish certain things like wiping their own ass.

So if they can't tuck they must either piss first and then sit and shit.... Which I guess is possible. But I'm thinking more like a bucket is used and placed in front, so you piss in the bucket on the floor in front of the toilet while shitting. Then you dump the bucket in the toilet and flush. And hopefully wipe somehow, or maybe use a bidet. I am sure this situation is some people's reality.

Politicians Are Using Kids As Props To Pass Terrible, Harmful Legislation. Don’t Let Them Get Away With It::Amidst all of the attention paid to last week’s Senate hearing on child safety online, it remains stunning just how little time was actually spent on how to help children online. Instead, we saw pure theatrical...

qq actually doesn't mean crying.

Also, wtf are you talking about?

But seriously, no offense meant at all. As someone who grew up "in the time period" in southern California the term "dude" is inescapable, regardless of gender. Trying to remove that from my vocabulary would be akin to removing "whoa" or "wow"... (I have zero issues with pronoun preferences)

If the image reference is missed, please give The Big Lebowski a view. It's not necessarily for everyone but it's such a gem.

R&D for a jet or tank is significantly more. To not throw out nonsense some quick googling told me the R&D just for an upgrade of the Abrams tank (which is old) is $650m and the total R&D of the F22 jet over two decades was $32B....

    stratosfear ,

    Totally like Counter-Strike

¯\(ツ)/¯ not according to steam, but regardless there are literally thousands of games that do not run on Macs so still an ignorant statement

    stratosfear ,

    What a strange response ...

    stratosfear , (edited )

Virtualization means it's not running on MacOS...

And, I don't have a Mac so definitely not something I pay any attention to, but it's pretty easy to see if a game on steam supports MacOS.

Far Cry 6 doesn't run on MacOS. I'd imagine most Ubisoft games don't.

Edit: oh, and Counter-Strike 2... Doesn't play on MacOS. Apparently I had to be specific about the "2" version.

    stratosfear ,

Gotcha. Yeah... Since they said "expect" I wasn't really judging that perception, I mean I too would like to "expect" R&D on tanks and jets to be under a billion dollars so that the USA didn't have to spend $900B/yr on "defense"

    stratosfear ,

My pi-hole blocks something about this piped website (videos won't play).... Guess it's not so innocent...

    stratosfear ,

Yeah, I'll try again and check the logs when I'm able. It's a reoccurring issue, not just this video.

    stratosfear ,

To be fair, before all this nonsense, this is what made Twitter unique and important. Twitter was the one way through social media "the average Joe" could be heard on the public stage. No normal person is getting time on the news.

Because of its short format the message had to be simple and concise, which made it special in the social media space. Someone saying something about a current event and then the "semi-democratization" process of being shared and liked or whatever the mechanism was (never was a user), and that message then making it into the news media, was a good thing. It actually was an opportunity for normal people to have a voice. And not just for Americans but for people in other countries who have even less of a voice.

Which is why the current events are so ironic, all of that being ruined, in the name of the billionaire morons claim of "free speech platform." He couldn't even see the perspective I'm coming from because he has a path to the public stage.

Fuck apple beyond words for creating a bully situation with children because of their fucked UX design and unwillingness to simply release their own iMessage app for android.

I have the opposite experience. I easily can have as many tabs at times and I've seen chrome use over 10gb of ram and fully lock at times. I switched to Firefox for that reason and others and it performs much better with that many tabs open. Most ram I've seen it using is about 6gb. Minimal and equivalent plugins in both. I've never had firefox crash. This across multiple computers. I now have uninstalled chrome everywhere...

    stratosfear ,

Windows group tabs. Just open a new window for each task of tabs.

Just became a first time user (~48 hours ago) of KDE on Sparky distro and I'm pretty impressed.

    stratosfear ,

It makes adding space easier down the road, either by linking disks or if you clone your root drive to a larger drive, which tends to not be something most "end users" (I try not to use that description but you said it heh) would do. Yes, using LVM is optional.

    stratosfear ,

As a power user of windows I've lost faith in Ubuntu, though. Their DNS implementation alone is a disaster. So I've switched to Debian and KDE, but then I saw there is a Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) so that's probably what I would recommend if anyone asked me. I personally haven't used it yet tho as I'm enjoying KDE.

    stratosfear ,

Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu

    stratosfear ,

But just think you could spend that time on your phone making even more absurd comments
