I think everyone is confused because in the title it says "im installing an hdd to replace an ssd" and in the post it says "ordered an nvme" so now im wondering what you are actually doing? Did the seller specify it would have an "nvme ssd" or just "ssd"?

unexposedhazard ,

I think the overall composition is too good for AI, but its on the border.

unexposedhazard ,

This has been known for decades so im pretty sure there will never be real consequences.

unexposedhazard ,

That works for me in thunder, but the preview thumbnail is borked.

unexposedhazard ,

Also autosexual women lol

unexposedhazard ,

I feel like there is an overlap between people that write autobiographies and people that get off to themselves. For legal reasons thats a joke /s

unexposedhazard ,

Very cute style, i like it. Blender is an amazing tool i could not happily live without.

unexposedhazard ,

Damn thats some good progress then. I mostly use it for modeling functional parts that i 3D print. I also used to do these cool little animations that react to certain frequencies in the music and entirely in blender with the scripting stuff, but havent touched that in years.

Cool fact with the crowdfunding, its easily forgotten that nerds need more than just screen light to survive and continue developing our beloved foss projects :)

The source is fedipact, the people in favor of blocking. So blocked = good = green
You could call that biased, but i think its very reasonable.

    unexposedhazard ,

What you should really take away from these numbers is that lemmy.world should close their registrations. If they dont, they should be seen as a bad actor trying to take majority control of the lemmyverse.

    unexposedhazard ,

I agree but its a matter of framing. In safety systems green is safe and red is danger. This would fit here too.

    unexposedhazard ,

Do you have any understanding of what fedipact is about? Obviously this not about software security dangers and rather about the danger that large commercial entities like meta bring to the longevity of a free fediverse.

    unexposedhazard , (edited )

People can choose what they want, but i want server admins to be aware of the possible negative impacts their own dominance might have.

Any one server should not have an interest in having many users, because there is no commercial benefit. If a server doesnt do anything against becoming a monopoly it either wants to have the ultimate power to moderate peoples speech or has hidden profit motives like selling their userbase to some company or running advertisements.

Large servers are the beginning of the end in a decentralized system that depends on having as much federation as possible.

If you defederate lemmy.world there is a huge drop in posts, but if you dont then the problem gets worse. If lemmy.world admins were to stop federating, half the lemmyverse collapses and even more people will move to an account on lemmy.world to keep their content source.

We dont even need meta/threads for these problems, any regular lemmy server can be the one that splits the userbase.

Strong traction on the tires that will run over the heads of Youtube HQ people maybe. But other than that i dont see any traction.

    unexposedhazard ,

Old people like us need our apple slices so we dont spontaneously combust from vitamin deficiency.

    unexposedhazard ,

Simple Mobile Tools was forked into "Fossify *" for anyone interested.

    unexposedhazard ,

Good good. Increasingly gameified social media is a cancer on society and young people especially.

    unexposedhazard ,

You know they would do this, the day reincarnation was confirmed.

    unexposedhazard ,

Using AI for tax calculations is one of the most insane and braindead ideas i have ever seen.
Only topped by military, medical and surveillance applications.

Dont let anything AI near your money people.

    unexposedhazard ,

No idea what Turbo Tax is supposed to be.
My bank can see my transactions ofcourse but they dont add or remove money from my bank account.

    unexposedhazard ,

oof, i guess im privileged enough to not have experienced that.

    unexposedhazard ,

Yeah the alternative is worse in every way tbh

    unexposedhazard ,

Also it might look goofy, but just get some basic knee and elbow protectors and a decent helmet. Those are the only areas you easily hurt as long as you are on flat ground with no obstacles.

    unexposedhazard ,

Oh yeah forgot about hands lol

    unexposedhazard ,

I really enjoyed the first game. I think it was lacking in some aspects that left it without much replay value but it was fun to beat it none the less.
If the ratings and reviews on the second game are not completely horrible i will check it out.

    unexposedhazard ,

I mean with fediverse stuff there is no need to buy the data, you can just take it with no limitation

    unexposedhazard ,

Yeah, i would hope they respect that but for some reason i doubt that.

    unexposedhazard ,

I was confused af for a bit until i looked at the character at the top of the wall. That fixed my brain.

    unexposedhazard ,

But its great that people like this exist imo. The average person might not need it but if someone does actually have a real reason for this level of security then its nice to have sources or at least entrypoints into the topic.

    unexposedhazard ,

I didnt know what GPs were so the headline made me think of the horrible anti abortion stuff from the US.

But reading the article im glad to hear that this topic is brought to light. A childhood friend of mine was in the "bedbound" category and its horrible even just to witness. As a man its hard to imagine but being in pain to this degree every month would probably make me depressed.

    unexposedhazard ,

E-bikes are probably around 100 times more economical than e-cars so it makes sense that they are much more impactful simply because so many more people can afford them.

    unexposedhazard ,

The initial cost too. U can get an ebike for like 1500€ but u gotta pay like 60000€ or more for an electric car. Also insurance, maintainance, parking, etc

    unexposedhazard ,

Maybe its a bit much but as i said in the other reply, you need:

    • a parking space
    • insurance
    • maintainance
    • eventually very costly battery replacement

All of these are either not necessaey or muuuch cheaper for bikes. These are also recurring costs that together could pay for a whole new e bike every few months.

    unexposedhazard ,

I said it before and i will say it again. Stop giving websites your real contact information. This is ground rule No 1 of how to internet.

    unexposedhazard ,

Does religion turn boys into men???

    unexposedhazard ,

Yeah like what the fuck are people on about in this day and age? Get your fairy tales outta here.

    unexposedhazard ,

In the context of religion playing any part in it? Yes.

    unexposedhazard ,

The acceptable boundary for involvment of religion in child raising is zero.

    unexposedhazard ,

Dont trust duck duck go with your privacy. Corpos gonna corpo. Sooner or later...

    unexposedhazard ,

HDR is like RGB, sometimes cool if done really well but usually just a useless selling point.

    unexposedhazard ,

Those are very cool tho, i still just barely got to experience those at home :D

    unexposedhazard ,

You can still buy perfectly good phones for 1-200€ but yeah the blame still mostly lies with the parents imo.

    unexposedhazard ,

Yes and no. I agree we should regulate these companies and make them partially responsible for the harm they cause, but you cant sue a knife company if your kid stabs someone. Its your responsibility to make sure your kids dont fall into the traps that exist in our world.

    unexposedhazard ,

Why with the landlord? I would prefer the dude in the pic.
