No. Shame is powerful and under utilized by the left because we are afraid of hurting people. The right is dropping bombs on children and threatening fascism. The difference in restraint is huge and it is hurting the left more.

The right whines when it doesn't get it way and throws legal tantrums when they have to play by the same rules as everyone else. This is just the start of the schadenfreude. The right can fucking die of collective anger for all I care.

That's not falling up. That's a phenomenon that is explained by physics. The Dinosaur Comic is saying that if gravity was found to be non compliant once, the law of gravity would be rewritten to make it make sense within the knowledge at hand. Economics has these regular events that invalidate a defined "Law" and they ignore it.

Something else important is that gravity exists as a constant and can be found based on how much mass is involved. For example, on earth, it is a set acceleration of 9.8 m/s2.

As a counter point, economics is allergic to labeling the axis on graphs except to show vague ideas like supply and demand. It is a field of study based on salesmanship and social inertia, not real science.

The picture is of John Wick, a character known for fighting an entire criminal underground because someone killed his puppy.

Kristi Noem is the governor of South Dakota. She wrote a book detailing how she went hunting with a puppy, the puppy scared birds she was hunting, so she put a bullet into it's head. She admitted it was an untrained puppy so the conclusion many draw is that she needlessly murdered a dog that she could have otherwise trained.

The punchline is that John Wick is coming after her because she killed a puppy.

So the cool part about this ad is that it's a riff on a talk given on transistors in 1954. The guy who pioneered and perfected silicon transistors was named Gordon Teal and he was the first person to grow a Germanium junction transistor in 1948, so he was kind of a big deal. At a conference where he was supposed to speak, the speaker before him talked about the limits of Germanium and how Silicon was impossible to use so the advances of the future are doping Germanium.

In his pocket Gordon Teal had some silicon transistors, fresh from the lab, and his talk was about how he made transistors from silicon. Texas instruments was the first to use silicon and this ad was TI taking the piss out of the industry by saying "Hey, you know that impossible thing? We have it ready for you."

Traditional marketing is dead. No one likes ads. But the amount of people watching game streams? Enormous. Slay the Spire is the typical tale of how streaming sparked a deck building gold rush and it started when a streamer played a few hours and got some word of mouth going.

Marketing is still a very viable approach to figuring out how to sell a product. But ads themselves are actually poorly regarded and when folks are given the option of how to receive retail information, they don't want unstoppable messages for things that don't appeal and will never be purchased. And it sours the brand to viewers who have to watch.

But getting some charismatic people to have fun with your product? Guaranteed to get some eyeballs who are willing to be there. That's what ads will start to look like: appeals to friendship.

Marketing is still working but unskippable billboards on the gates of our entertainment are dying off.

Liberals are a pro-coroporation, big business backed left wing that is still very much an authoritarian flavor of left. When zoomed out, liberal is more like center right and the entire conversation is about how conservative we are. The fact is that there are other left wing politics and, for example, progressives would not stand for genocide. The more right wing you go the more supporting killing civilians that are literally trying to get food to survive is okay, until you get to full authoritarian which justified why it is okay to continue killing. That's where Israel is right now. That's why so many people are upset.

Hopefully that clears up any confusion.

Google internal politics ousted the last of the OG Google guys and replaced him with the same person who killed Yahoo, Prabhakar Raghavan.

The general consensus is that all of the changes to Google since 2019 were driven by profit instead of trying to find things, like a search engine should. And those decisions were spearheaded by Prabhakar Raghavan, who used the training of a data scientist to run Google into the ground for short term financial gain. Sundae Prichai hired Prabhakar Raghavan directly and then promoted him from Head of Ads to Head of Search after firing the guy who had been helping guide Google Search since 1999.

That level of honesty is noble but unwarranted. It's a profile pic that is supposed to be a "here's my general appearance" and that's just a temporary blemish. If it becomes a part of your personality, take another picture. It will give you time to adjust to whatever the skin is going to do.

Thanks for the map pin. It does a good job of showing how tight that space is but there does seem to be an island that starts south and moved north that would be a good dedicated bike path. Here's an example of a median turned into a walkway (for my example, it would be a dedicated bike lane) that would work well in this kind of location, and probably specific to here as well. It may not be pleasant to use but it will be MUCH safer.

The game is an hour long, one time thrill and is excellent at it. However, there is no variation nor surprises after the first run, so it was reasonably priced for like a dollar or two. The criticism is the game became a meme game that caused the dev to double the price to capitalize on the fame. It's one of those situations which leaves no one happy.
