Oh damn really good point. I was thinking the same as OP until your comment. Rebels definitely dove into this aspect in a very similar way like the Fremen. Andor hinted at it as well. Both explore what life is like for the everyday inhabitants of the galaxy, which is why they're so cool.

Although Dune was certainly more deliberate with making the indigenous people rising as a core part of the main story. Haha the Jihad was also a significantly different response than the Rebellion though.

Honestly that's probably me. But not what you think. In the process for long-term self sponsor visa to France rn. I made the decision in July 2022. Lived there a while to test it and now am in process to make perm. I'll still vote absentee if possible.

I don't really see any reason to be here anymore though. The experiment has failed and I no longer have any desire to try to protect it like generations of my family who moved here for equality of life and better economic opportunities. So, like them I'm moving, to a place that has the baseline of treating 52% of its population as humans and opportunities for my profession. There's plenty wrong there too, but the way I look at it, might as well have good wine while watching everything burn.

Problems arise...

Bugs. It's bugs, lots of bugs. Super unique concept though.

In a dramatically less serious series with a similar theme, that's very aware of its cheesiness is The Galaxy's Edge series. Military sci-fi series where humanity has populated the galaxy using FTL tech developed 50 years after the richest and upper society tech billionaires/politicians abandon Earth on their own generation ships they used to dupe the rest of humanity to not bring them. Flash forward to current times and their generation ships are slowly catching up with the rest of humanity who leapfrogged them 6,000 years ago and they're the "Savages" now having done space Nazi experiments on their shipmates over the thousands of years in the void, while the rest of us built a galactic Republic.

    It's funny I know someone who's an exec at Boeing Space, which is practically a completely different company and 99% a gov contractor. Let's just say the SLS hassss to work flawlessly because its got "Boeing" written all over its parts, luckily NASA is leading the project so it'll probably go as planned.
