'Course, "anti-bullying campaigns" seem to have a tendency some places to either have some serious cracks or actually make things worse at least some of the time. Same with other "student protection" initiatives, some schools just mysteeeriously have interestingly high rates of traumatized students going out compared to coming in.

(In case it's unclear, I'm complaining about shit schools letting students get attacked in various ways but trying to pretend they're not just letting it happen or quietly encouraging it. In the US at least, the "education system" being gross or outright vile does not stop at/after high school: it's top to bottom bullshit same as what at this point feels like every other "system" around here)

You'd think as we approach fully automated luxury (for the wealthy only) hetero land capitalism that people would kinda start getting ideas about maybe not everything should be property of the richest trash around 🤔 I would, anyway. Apparently I'd think wrong and people are so determined to serve they'll blame me for existing before they'll ever blame whoever fired them for a machine, or whoever voted against UBI, or whoever decided that food and shelter should cost money even if there aren't any jobs because the machines handle everything. Or just... y'know, anything that makes any sense?

Oh hey, I heard the funding for that dried up. ... Because I went looking for ways to not spend $50/mo for a working phone while I'm sleeping in somebody's closet and have no income 🙃 Happen to know people who don't even have the closet, but I'm sure they don't need phone service either.

I kinda want there to be a super-weed that can tear up an entire parking lot in under a week 🤔 Also this thing should appear in every parking lot simultaneously and be immune to any herbicide that doesn't also melt the buildings next to where it's used.

... I'm growing a special new distaste for cars lately. I still need buses, so I guess roads can stay <.< For now >:O

Unfortunately, buses also tend to use tires. And roads. Maybe some melty mould would work, though! Maybe if it somehow targets cars or things used only/mainly by cars, or just use it later when places get walkabler as a response to the damn cars being rendered ineffective. Oh, and maybe light rail can be a bigger thing! Dunno how good that would be but fuck cars!

When something goes for so long with no amount of effort ever changing the thing beyond basically a coat of paint... Yeah, what it's doing is clearly the point. A glitch is a glitch but if it's still killing people next week, next month, next year... that's obviously a feature.

Kinda ridiculous to expect people to be mandatorily opted-into a system meant to grind them up then be like "Oh don't worry, it's just in beta and you can submit a bug report if it kills you or something." Yeah sure, it'll be "fixed" any decade now. Just gotta keep paying no matter what doesn't change and eventually something will change!

Just kinda felt like sharing this somewhere 🤷 Kindof a random little rant, but the whole "fuck cars" thing hits a little differently after some time on foot than it did when I just didn't go anywhere. Didn't really seem deserving of its own top-level post soooo hopefully nocritter minds if I ramble a little here 😅

Finding myself carless in a city that's somewhat bus-able, I've found myself repeatedly irritated by how unfriendly everything is to foot traffic. There's very much a feeling of being second-class when I step outside, like "Get the hell off the ground, you're making the cars feel unsafe!" Often there aren't even sidewalks, or the sidewalk is only on one side of the road so I've got to cross the road to avoid just walking on it (or become a goat and walk sideways next to it on the same side, I guess?). Walking anywhere at all feels like I'm a nuisance to all' the cars because everywhere I've been so far (a bit of Minneapolis, for the curious) is designed for cars and against people. Even crossings kinda piss me off because the whole point of those and everything else traffic-related is the cars, and getting pesky people out of the way of the previous cars.

I kinda wanna move somewhere that isn't so damn car-happy just to experience it. ...And then maybe refuse to leave >:D If only 😅 Maybe I can get adopted as a rescue animal or refugee or something.

Anyway, Fuck Cars! They're noisy and pollutey and ugly and they're in my way!

So I've kinda been liking buses. Well, "like" is maybe a strong word but they get the job done? My one experience on light rail wasn't great. Flew in during the evening, got led around a little bit, sat on a train full of smoke 😅 Maybe I'll have a different experience if I have a chance to try again. Buses during the day, though, pretty comfy. ... If I ever get a "life" going maybe my tune will change from some kinda rush-hour bus pain 😅

Worse than driving, though? Hmmmm. At least the bus fights should be more interesting than re-reading bumper stickers for the forty-seven millionth time.

You want everyone to know all of the ethical concerns involved in every kind of product, from its contents to its manufacture, transportation, packaging, et cetera? We'll all be full-time students for decades before being allowed into a Walmart, I guess. Maybe that'll bring back smaller shops, with only a Master's degree in Ethical Shopping required.

For reference, a quick search turns up estimates of 120,000+ product SKUs on Walmart shelves. Kindof a lot to keep track of, no? And no, you're not permitted to respond with some "Oh, just don't be stuck in a shitty life/place where you're stuck buying corporate 'products'" crap or else I will post a vomiting emoji at you.

There's a lot of stuff to keep track of and "free" time is intentionally kept minimal so maybe don't blame people for not knowing their shampoo is environmentally unethical whilst they're worrying about their car that's in the shop because the airbags are more lethal than most crashes, they're just now learning to avoid potatoes in their diet ( 😭 ), their boss is making them work asinine hours, and they're still busy researching the sixty thousand products from the left half of the only shop in their area.

tl;dr: How the roasted goat bollocks is anyone supposed to "know better" for absolutely everything in life? Maybe it's fair to hope for some help on these things.
