She was ugly before she became a sorceress, if I remember correctly.

I can't be pretty in real life, but I have no such restriction in video games.

Excuse me, yellow is Joy, green is Disgust, purple is Fear, blue is Sadness, and red is Anger. Anyone who has seen Inside Out should know this. Anyone who hasn't seen it should rectify that mistake.

What's a milk drinker like you doing out here? Go home to your mother.

Squirrel ,

It is tacky to leave the sticker on there with the lower price, but you are the one who paid 12£. How does it matter what they paid? If they search for books to resell at a profit, that's time spent, risk taken, and money earned.

Unless you had a GameGear (or, heaven help you, a Nomad). Then it was, "Mom, I need more AA batteries."

Funny, the whole thing is supposed to be applicable. They can't just ignore the parts that fit your terrible atheist agenda. And these points certainly aren't a matter of ignored context.

I've actually had other Christians argue against the message of love preached by Jesus, saying it's inapplicable here or there. Of course, I can't be a true Christian if I want equal rights for "the gays," healthcare for all, or any of the other various far left (for the US) views I hold.

Note: I'm a Christian who firmly supports the separation of church and state, sooooo...

The sound of hundreds of animals desperately trying to get laid.

Are there doctors and scientists recommending people NOT to take it?

There are morons in every field. We can't just look at the outliers.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

That's it, absolutely. It's bigotry in language form. The only people who care about what qualifies as "straight" are those who shun those different from themselves.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Yeah, I somehow doubt that Apple could be done in like Yuzu. They're in a different ballpark, league, and game.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Wow, someone who actually knows the character.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Sadly, it doesn't always seem to exist.

She's more than a little bit ridiculous, obviously, but it is strange to have so many stands selling the same things like that.

Squirrel ,

5, 7, and 9 would be my choices if I wasn't married. I guess I would probably still pick 7, just so I can be confident my wife likes the way I look.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

You want hairless ears and tail? I don't think those two pills should go together.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

That's my secret: I'm always depressed.

Squirrel ,

When your choice puts others at risk, you're damn right that there are consequences.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

You could choose to get vaccinated and be able to work there. If you choose to not get vaccinated, having limited employment (etc.) options is a consequence. You can choose to put yourself at risk, but your choice does not grant you the right to put others at risk.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

Yeah, I had a good four year stretch where I just had to filter out everything political. I figured it's better to be ignorant than to be constantly stressed and angry.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

This is a clear case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't." Some people will complain, either way. Personally, I prefer the current implementation.

Squirrel ,

There are differences between duplicate letters; it's definitely handwriting.

Dude. Who doesn't like tatas? I understand not liking genitals -- there's nothing particularly visually attractive about most V's or P's, when you're not aroused. But boobs? Just about everyone can agree that boobs are attractive.

I don't have a swamp, but I have a wooded yard and can attest to most of what you said. However, in addition to the plethora of bug species and legion of spiders, I also have a shitload of mosquitos.

Squirrel ,
@Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

That would be difficult to do. There are far more spiders in my yard than I've seen elsewhere. It blew me away when I moved here.

"Consider this, legally speaking... rocking is more legal than stoning. Eh? Eh?"

RimWorld... I'm not the type for cannibalism or human skin hats, but I do produce and sell a shitload of cocaine.

Oh, and I killed a child colonist, in this run. There was a bug in her age-up event, and the game would not let me proceed until she was... removed. I hate killing children, but since it was the end of the world without doing so, I give myself a pass this time

    Unfortunately, a lot of "obvious satire" turns out to be serious. This is a bit more obvious than most, but it can be hard to tell, these days.

    My wife got some deer repellent stuff with "putrified egg" in it that I would highly recommend for this purpose.

    Is that like a double negative? Are they now a mascboy? I'm still not sure how all this works.

    Squirrel ,
    @Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

    Thank you. I legitimately could not understand the title.

    Squirrel ,
    @Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

    If you're going to use parentheses, just go full-on confusion with something like (B[D)(S]M).

    Squirrel ,
    @Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

    I'm sad to say that it took me a minute to recognize the actual meaning.

    Squirrel ,

    They do that on Reddit? I definitely remember seeing criticism of her unfunny comics practically every time.

    My views on Republicans are similar. The voters are both ignorant and poor, as well as selfish and wealthy. Those are two subsets of the same group. The leadership tends to fall into the latter category, with a few idiots thrown in for good measure.

    I have had no trouble with my Brother printer in ~7-8 years of use. Of course, laser vs inkjet is not a particularly fair comparison, but I am still never going back to HP, Canon, and the like.

    Shrinkflation hits IKEA Family by removing 5% discount (i.imgur.com)

    IKEA Family is a membership program, like grocery store memberships. The only real feature of the program was their 5% discount. But now, they are getting rid of it to focus on "New Lower Price offers". I'm not holding my breath that their prices are going to come down anytime soon....

    Squirrel ,
    @Squirrel@thelemmy.club avatar

    Per Wikipedia:

    shrinkflation, also known as the grocery shrink ray, deflation, or package downsizing, is the process of items shrinking in size or quantity, or even sometimes reformulating or reducing quality, while their prices remain the same or increase.

    I can't see how furniture could ever qualify as shrinkflation, unless we're counting something like the use of crappier materials.

    Most generations don't need to deal with an impending threat to the whole planet. Nuclear apocalypse, sure, but at least there was no pretending that it wasn't a problem.

    This is ignoring all of the other ways in which we're fucked.

    Can we just get some real public transportation options in the USA? I've visited Washington D.C., Boston, and New York City recently, and I'm in love with the subway (etc). Where I live would still require a car, but afaik, none of the major cities around me have anything more than a lackluster bus system.
