Ok I’m going to sound like an idiot but this is my first doing of anything with any servers, so I apologize if I’m missing something obvious. What command should I use with it? I typed it in alone just in case and got an unknown command

No i followed the x86 instructions from the website, so I was using an Ubuntu (ok I deviated to kubuntu because I wanted a drive with it anyways) flash drive to run disks to put the os on the internal ssd from the link found here

The hand alternating is actually supposed to be for ergonomics and typing rhythm. It’s one of the perks imo. But yeah that’s totally fair. And colemak has its advantages, I hear it’s easier to pick up, and someone like me would probably have benefited from it being less different from QWERTY as I lost my QWERTY abilities. But I too am not spending another 3 months learning a new layout

Very true. The unfortunate reality is no vehicle manufacturer is friendly to the UAW (to my knowledge, though Volkswagen claims to be apathetic, but when I was a union member of a company they own it certainly felt like they had a problem with us). I don’t support these companies because they’re good companies I support them because I want the industry to face financial pressure towards unionized labor. And my alternative isn’t nonunion vehicles, it’s used vehicles.

The thing is we on paper didn’t use incindiaries in Vietnam as anti personnel weapons, it was to torch the rainforest and deoxygenate tunnels. Now in practice we all know that flamethrowers were used on homes and have seen the pictures of the children with Napalm burns. But yeah this line of argument is nothing new.

Exactly. I’m not even shy, my boobs have been out plenty and I’ve sent nudes all that. Hell I met my wife with my tits out. But there’s a wild difference between pictures I made and released of my own will in certain contexts and situations vs pictures attempting to approximate my naked body generated without my knowledge or permission because someone had a whim.

My attempts at self hosting have been mostly an attempt to set up jellyfin, *arr, and foundryvtt on an old computer at which point I realized I don’t really understand terminal or networks. I’m getting a bit more comfortable with my terminal in my desktop, but I’m going at a reasonable pace nowadays. I don’t have a ton of time or money to sink into it

I didn’t realize their devices are plug and play. I’ve considered one before and probably will go that route if it’s that easy when the wife and I have more than a pair of light bulbs to control

Exactly. In a factory you can create an automated line that runs as long as you need. Or you can spend 1.5-2x that and get an automated worker that can work any of the lines you already have.

Also a lot of tasks that take one person would take several robots. Modify and inspect part-pack part-move pack to pallet for example

Exactly. There’s something reassuring about it always being a skill issue. Am I going to develop those skills? Probably not. But I could.

I actually helped drive someone at my bike co-op to linux by comparing it to why I fix my bike. My bike is janky, but I’m the one who fucked it up. And no irritation is “get over it” it’s “here’s what it would take to fix it, decide if it’s worth it”
