Yeah it's super easy (autistic or not) to think you're being very clear when you have the full idea in your head, but you're actually not. It's like if you're trying to describe a purple elephant and say "the thing that moves around and is purple and has a trunk". Those words clearly describe a purple elephant if you already have the concept at the forefront of your mind, but for somebody without a purple elephant in mind, you could just as well be describing a purple car or a guy from the purple equivalent of the blue man group carrying around a big chest of clothes or a purple tree that can move around.

i think I saw the full thing the other day. I think in the og "the truth" they're referring to is christianity/creationism and they're saying evolutionary scientists think they're too smart too accept it. By isolating this panel, it looks like "the truth" being referred to is evolution, and the people who think they're too smart to accept it are creationists, which is accurate and makes it pretty funny imo

The names part of the connection is why I said the person in the post is making the point in a dumb way. The names are irrelevant.

What we do know is that the body of at least one cow somewhere was used to get the milk that was turned into the yogurt. That objectification and exploitation of their body and reproductive organs has parallels to misogyny, for one thing both disregard bodily autonomy.

Same with "bad trips" (on psychedelics). The people saying there are no bad trips are pointing to a good truth that difficult trips can bring a lot of growth and healing if you accept and explore them and what's causing that feeling, but there are also truly bad trips with no upside, where in every way it would be better for it to not have happened. They're super rare, but it's definitely wise to have a trusted friend or therapist present, especially the first time you do them or do a big dose

Yep, I switched because I was moving away from the proton ecosystem lol. Their poor google-free android support for mail, and awful linux vpn support (they have a hard dependency on networkmanager, but I don't use NM, I use iwd) plus no ipv6 pushed me away

At a conference recently, one person accidentally sent the organizer a pdf of their presentation with their notes underneath each slide, instead of the presentation itself, but it was super confusing because the file was "presentation.pptx.pdf" which of course got displayed by windows as "presentation.pptx". The person who decided to hide extensions by default must be so proud of pulling off such a wide reaching prank

Agreed. I switched to tuta, which doesn't depend on google play services on android, and is on fdroid.

I also switched cause protonvpn doesn't have ipv6, and on linux requires networkmanager (i use iwd), and you can't use wireguard without downloading files and configuring wireguard yourself. Mullvad has been much better

get a consistent sleep schedule, with the key factor being a consistent wake up time (but also, you should get to bed at the planned time most nights). It doesn't matter how late you stayed up, you get up at the time you set. If you really need to, take a nap after lunch, but always get up at the same time. Then you'll want to go to sleep on time so you don't screw yourself over in the morning
