The Cure!

Back in the mid-to-late 80s when The Cure came to town, a buddy of mine didn't have the money left over after buying his ticket to buy any official merch, but he did have enough to buy a bootleg t-shirt in the parking lot, with a tiny The Cure decal cheaply ironed into the breast pocket.

Next day in school, many were sporting their brand new t-shirts with THE CURE HEAD ON THE DOOR NORTH AMERICAN TOUR 1986 or whatever it was.
A stoner guy approached my friend with his tiny "The Cure" t-shirt and the exchange went something like this:

"Hey man... where'd you get the shirt?"
"At the Cure concert."
"Oh for sure, for sure..." as he turned and walked away.

One of the two major political parties in the US definitely has big and loud fascist tendencies, expressed explicitly and often, in both words and actions. And they are proud of it. If anyone cut off any possibility of dialogue, slapped away an outstretched hand over and over again, will try and muddy any and all arguments in bad faith, it's that political party and its' voters/supporters.

But a friend of mine went to the grandaddy of them all, something about state politics, some ambitious asshole making a power play and filibustering for an entire day, he had come prepared specifically to wear everyone down, I think he was trying to approve a new set of rules and conditions that benefitted his position, something along those lines.

Actually, there does seem to be a pixel to reality and existence according to physics, the Planck Length, and the guy (Max Planck) came up with it around the turn of the 20th century, from the math of observing the behavior of light in matter glowing from heat, aka black body radiation. He was also able to deduce Planck Time and Planck Energy.

We can't see it, though, it's smaller to a proton than a proton is to us.

Look up the story of 17th-century castaway Phillip Quarll.
After several years alone on an island in the Pacific, although it had an abundant monkey population. Then one day a ship passed by and landed on the shore.

Quarll opted to remain alone on the island for the rest of his days, assured the captain that he was of sound mind even while choosing such a fate, to prove it handed him his own story in writing, I suppose there was paper and ink that had survived the shipwreck.

Quarll cooked a meal for the captain, using only ingredients he had been using for years on the island; the captain later described the meal as exquisite in its' simplicity and harmony, at one with nature.

In his experiences, Quarll had been changed profoundly. Originally quite a drunk hellraiser back in England, he had found an inner peace, and did not see the value of himself returning to civilization and society.
