After announcing increased prices, Spotify to Pay Songwriters About $150 Million Less Next Year (www.billboard.com)

When Bloomberg reported that Spotify would be upping the cost of its premium subscription from $9.99 to $10.99, and including 15 hours of audiobooks per month in the U.S., the change sounded like a win for songwriters and publishers. Higher subscription prices typically equate to a bump in U.S. mechanical royalties — but not...

As a, Tesla owner i agree. Musk is awful and Tesla are heading down the toilet. I'd never buy one agian.

set_secret ,

Just put this into GPT 4.

What's your view of the fizbang Raspberry blasters?

Gpt 'I'm not familiar with "fizbang Raspberry blasters." Could you provide more details or clarify what they are?'

It's a drink making machine from china

Gpt 'I don't have any specific information on the "fizbang Raspberry blasters" drink making machine. If it's a new or niche product, details might be limited online.'

So, in this instance is didn't hallucinate, i tried a few more made up things and it's consistent in saying it doesn't know of these.

Explanations?

set_secret ,

Oh ok thanks i thought this thread was about AI LLMs in general.

Weird i was downvoted for demonstrating the very thing that apparently (according to these very learned comments) AI can't do, actually doing it well. Seems like irrational bubble hate to me, common on reddit but getting more so on Lemmy it seems. "that guys asking topic based questions that make our comments look poorly thought out and potentially wrong, burn him"

set_secret ,

Ok very long and detailed response, i was responding to the initial comments that explicitly said if you give ai a made up thing it will definitely hallucinate. Which i demonstrated to be false in (multiple times). I'm not suggesting it doesn't hallucinate a lot of the time still, but the comments were making out its 100% broken, and it clearly works for many queries very effectively, despite its limited applications. Im just suggesting we don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

set_secret ,

Yes, i agree

VERGE articles seem to be getting worse over the years, they've almost reached Forbes level, yes this does raise some valid safety concerns. No Tesla isn't bad just because it's Tesla.

It doesn't really give us the full picture. For starters, there's no comparison with Level 2 systems from other car makers, which also require driver engagement and have their own methods to ensure attention. This would help us understand how Tesla's tech actually measures up.

Plus, the piece skips over extremely important stats that would give us a clearer idea of how safe (or not) Tesla's systems are compared to good old human driving.

We're left in the dark about how Tesla compares in scenarios like drunk, distracted, or tired driving—common issues that automation aims to mitigate. (probably on purpose).

It feels like the article is more about stirring up feelings against Tesla rather than diving deep into the data. A more genuine take would have included these comparisons and variables, giving us a broader view of what these technologies mean for road safety.

I feel like any opportunity to jump on the Elon hate wagon is getting tiresome. (and yes i hate Elon too).

WHY THE FUCK IS ANYONE ON TWITTER ANYMORE.

set_secret ,

to be fair the playstation controller is pretty reliable...

set_secret ,

I've heard switching to EV totally removes the gas pump ads.

set_secret ,

i looked at it and it literally says passkeys aren't supported on Android right now. so this is bullshit.

set_secret ,

sry my comment was not clear i meant proton.

set_secret ,

everything about that error page is Toxic AF

set_secret ,

this just in.....Apple to stop selling devices in Oregon.

set_secret ,

It should be noted it's comparing the claim vs the cars actual co2 output, which for PHEV is laughably incorrect in real world use. I'm amazed a class action hasn't been made againts these car companies. They knew what they were doing and its nothing short of environmental terrorism levels of deceit.

That said, Plug in hybrids are still 'better' than petrol or diesil cars for overall emissions. The title makes out they're worse. Which is untrue.

set_secret ,

success is subjective anyway. To some you might be.

set_secret ,

these two things aren't mutually exclusive, your can play your part and eat billionaires.

set_secret ,

this isn't so much a failure of AI generated anything. it's a failure by the organisers to have the budget needed to do it. this was 100% human fuck up. So weird the article tries to spin it that it's somehow an AI fail.

set_secret ,

"Save the planet? Sure, but only if it doesn't slightly inconvenience my leisure activities or make me wait a bit longer." This mindset perfectly encapsulates why we're in such a mess: an astounding commitment to personal comfort at the expense of the planet's future. It's like saying, "I'll help fight climate change, but only if it's on my terms and doesn't affect my ski trips." Because, obviously, ensuring our convenience is far more critical than addressing a global crisis. It’s this precise “me first, planet later” attitude that’s steering us towards an ecological disaster, yet here we are....

set_secret ,

thanksCEO of Toyota.

20-30 years lol it's cute you think society will still exist then.

set_secret ,

So.... if the technology isn't improving your life you continue to use the one that's making everyone else's life worse? Even if you have the means to switch to the marginally less damaging one, that's marginally more annoying? Sounds like serious entitlement to me. The idea that no downgrade is acceptable is niave AF.

set_secret ,

i guess this a pertinent example of why we've got basically zero chance of stopping climate collapse. I've no doubt your position is very much the norm. We're all required to make massive sacrifice to solve this, but very few are willing to make even small concessions)like less convenient driving practices).

Oh well it's gunna be exciting to watch the ship sink at the very least.

At least you acknowledge your shitty position. it's more than most seem to do.

set_secret ,

fed it to gpt:

Briar and Cwtch stand out as recommended for private communication, both featuring end-to-end encryption by default, utilization of Perfect Forward Secrecy, and encryption at rest on both server and client sides. They are also decentralized and not dependent on DNS, which enhances privacy and security.

set_secret ,

i find it frustrating if i can't immediately tell the poster of a site their content is wrong or sucks or is generally bad. therefore social media is my only option, because the world must know my valuable contributions.....🤌🤌

set_secret ,

sounds fair and reasonable, definitely not dangerous.

set_secret ,

international messaging? wtf? what's app, Facebook messenger, the 100s pf other ones you could use. I,hate apple too but come on now

set_secret ,

seriously, how hard is it to ask your mum to install a single app so you don't have to pay to message her? what will that take like 5 seconds?

i have plenty of friends overseas who use ios and we message just fine. surprisingly they didn't defriend me when i requested they install an app we can both use.

wtf sort of shitty friends and family do you have??

Electric school buses are a breath of fresh air for children | Nearly $1B in federal funding could help clean up the unequal health impacts of diesel pollution. (grist.org)

Electric school buses are a breath of fresh air for children | Nearly $1B in federal funding could help clean up the unequal health impacts of diesel pollution.::Nearly $1B in federal funding will help decarbonize transportation and clean up some of the unequal health impacts of diesel pollution

set_secret ,

that doesn't fix the toxic diesel pollution does it?

set_secret ,

um wtf? We all wearing gas masks or something? You realise diesel fumes are toxic to people right? Kids catching buses spewing toxic gas is not a good situation. I think you're focusing on the climate changing issue of pollution and not the pressing issue, which is the toxic fumes that come from diesel buses.

set_secret ,

obviously electric buses would be the solution which is shockingly the point of the argument. How dense are you?

set_secret ,

if you think that you're delusional mate.

set_secret ,

who said that? Can you even read?

set_secret ,

I never suggested we don't or do have dedicated school buses. My point is crystal clear: all diesel buses, school or otherwise, are toxic to humans. School buses are a bigger problem, directly exposing kids to these harmful particulates. It's astonishing how my simple point about electrifying public transport and or school buses, which I've repeated ad nauseam, gets twisted. People's preconceived notions or maybe their reading comprehension problems are skewing the real issue here. It's not rocket science, yet here we are, going in circles.

set_secret ,

investors should not be able to either.
