I have no idea why you are being downvoted, you're just stating facts

toofpic ,

Turning the cap's hinge on a milk carton every time you open it is not really convenient (you can't turn the carton, it's not round as a bottle)

toofpic ,

Except when the stuff is in, you have free hands to close doors and hatches

toofpic ,

"Oh my, the cake box/finger/dog was in the way, but thanks for automation, the door didn't close!"

toofpic ,

Because I am the bag commander. If I want the bag to fit, and it doesn't fit, I'd better crush it!

toofpic ,

Well, i have Masters in Garbology, and I prowdly own 2010's Golden Bin. And I see you're wrong!

toofpic ,

Is it normal to close an article when given two options: consent to sharing your data with 99999 companies or "choose options" and manually disable 999 subsets of said companies?
I did that once just bein curious of when the list ends, but I'm not repeating that

toofpic ,

It's only worse with seagulls. I saw a cool big speckled seagull once and decided to google how it's called. It's called "big speckled seagull". A small gray seagull would be called a "small grey seagull". All the other animals are usually called something cool, like if you see a big beaver, it's "Johnson's beaver", or an eagle, and it's called a "southern nesting eagle".
Then a fucking seagull is a fucking seagull.

toofpic ,

"love the game even with half of the textures and t-shape npcs!"

toofpic ,

You will immediately feel better, and this action alone will secure you much more free time do do something cool!

toofpic ,

If you add a strap to it, it will be smartwatch. So there's a need and a niche, just not for one more way to do the same stuff

toofpic ,

This is exactly what I meant: they're selling a watch without a strap, and saying it's something new

toofpic ,

There is nationalism: "our people are cooler, let's favour them, maybe we'll make it harder for others but we don't care", so there are legit parties with that views: conservators, protectionists, socialists (I don't refer to specific parties or movements, just a general inclination). I don't like them that much, but we shouldn't judge opinions, it's better to promote our own.
And there's nazism, which usually refers to an ideology like Hitler's: "yes, we are better, so let's kill everyone else or make them slaves", this is just pure evil, I leave it unexplained because it's really obvious.

toofpic ,

Yeah, and the aggression in music easily syncs with literal agreccion of the third reich, so it's a low-hanging fruit if you don't have other ideas for music and songs.
Lemme try:
Panzer death
Panzer death
Blood soaked brothers march
Panzer death
Panzer death
Glory to our patriarch

bonus points for samples of machinegun added to drums, lyrics in German, bandmembers photographed in pseudo-nazi uniform, etc.

Some idiots will listen that on repeat in no time

Edit: Listen to Hanzel und Gretel - SS Deathstar Supergalaktik, it covers most of the the cliches

Google Won’t Say Anything About Israel Using Its Photo Software to Create Gaza “Hit List” (theintercept.com)

The Israeli military has reportedly implemented a facial recognition dragnet across the Gaza Strip, scanning ordinary Palestinians as they move throughout the ravaged territory, attempting to flee the ongoing bombardment and seeking sustenance for their families....

toofpic ,

Toyota won't say anything to people who install machineguns on their pickups!

toofpic ,

Satan Satan Satan
Dead baby Jesus
Satan Satan Satan

toofpic ,

At that point I tried to delete my account, but they made it impossible already. So they are "lucky" to "keep me" as a "customer"

toofpic ,

If you're in a situation where you need to outspeed a truck to not die, you have tp consider your life choices. I can't even imagine a situation that could lead to it, if we don't count "I just randomly started to cross a busy road" ones.

toofpic ,

Good! Back to the situation of "I need to use the strength of my legs to accelerate", much safer

toofpic ,

With a usual bike, I mostly agree. But there are beasts like that now, they are heavier than a bike and even heavier han average scooter, and from the looks, they are mostly owned by a-holes. And not just from the looks, but from the fact that they remove facrory limit of 25 km/h

toofpic ,

I know, it's just bikes like the one in my link - there are many of them, and they're in a city. I don't care much if somebody rides in a forest on an electric dirtbike and thinks it's a bicycle :)

toofpic ,

ummm, what?

toofpic ,

Yes, I know and I see them daily. I was answering on a comment "ooh, they will slow me down and I'll get in a dangerous situation because of that!" The one thing i don't see much is "speeding in front of traffic, as in Copenhagen there are not many places where there are no bicycle lanes and the cars are driving fast at the same time.

toofpic ,

Okay, but would you stop calling me a "guy who (said something that you think he could say)"?

toofpic ,

I'd make it purgatory-style, where you're stomped and ripped apart by farm animals you've eaten, and only then you get to heaven, have a cuppa tea with them and laugh about it.

toofpic ,

Google something about crusades and other religious wars, should be enough

toofpic ,

Sorry for that! Can I visit one of your fun pagan parties? The ones that you have with your friends (that you have).

toofpic ,

Oh, I'm definitely not the one who will join one of the two imaginary armies ("partyboys" and "nerds") you think people have to belong to.

toofpic ,

I lost you there - you said I don't have any social life, so what parties?

toofpic ,

They are there in smaller channels as well - my wife has about 2,5k and I see ad posts from time to time. The format does not look that invasive though, just a few lines to scroll past.

toofpic ,

You know of the existence of dishwashers, right?

toofpic ,

Aaah, ok, makes perfect sense!

toofpic ,

You don't have a contract signed with them, don't you?
ELI5: Your neighbor has a pool. He allows you to swim there, "any day you want". Then he is off his meds and he stops letting you in. Can you sue him because you had some rights to swim in his pool before?

Shell Is Immediately Closing All Of Its California Hydrogen Stations | The oil giant is one of the big players in hydrogen globally, but even it can't make its operations work here.::The oil giant is one of the big players in hydrogen globally, but even it can't make its operations work here. All seven of its California stations...

toofpic ,

Oh, come on, I live in Copenhagen and cycle daily, but even there, cars are not going anywhere. Smelly-smokey cars, yes, but not cars in general.

toofpic ,

It's not the time to brag that The Netherlands have a better cycling infrastructure (that is actually debatable), the comment was about cars "going away completely".
Yes, I don't have a personal car, but recently I needed to haul a dining table and 6 chairs into my apartment. It took a Berlingo and two hours, and it would be a complete circus number even with a cargobike.

toofpic ,

Yes, it does work, and it feels nice there. Though a large part of it is not about improving other ways of transportation, but about creating problems for car-owners.
So, "greater good" and all, but the situation is far from perfect even here, and people have a long way ahead, to create infrastructures where people also feel good, but not because someone is "getting punished for bad behaviour"

toofpic ,

Google Reader shutdown has completely changed the way I was ingesting information. It was so convenient, I always had 2-3 days worth of articles, web comics and news for reading.
Another problem was that many sites shifted to providing only parts of articles instead of full versions, and it was still the time when I wasn't always online to finish reading.

toofpic ,

Oh, cool, thank you, I'll check Feeder out. I want my stuff to be on my phone. I'm going to the airport right now, and spending 8,5 hours without internet. It's funny that I wouldn't have a problem with that in 2008, but I have now :)

toofpic ,

We're maintaining and developing OpenVMS OS, and both we and our customers need Cobol, Fortran, and other half-dead languages coders.
Many large companies maintain their old systems and use them for production or data processing purposes. Sometimes it's too expensive to migrate off, but im many cases "it just works"

toofpic ,

Oh, I'm sorry man. I don't know everything, I'm working there less than a year, but I only heard of VB a couple of times. In order of popularity it's like: C, C++, Java, then everything else

toofpic ,

I know for sure several airports are using OpenVMS, and there are more we don't know about, as some companies keep running yheir stuff for decades not asking anyone for support.
And I'm sure There are multiple other old systems out there, it's too hard to replace them.
And they work! Our VMS stuff runs great, it's fast, and the uptime is measured in decades sometimes. So the problem is hardware: we rolled out the first production x86 version this year, so our users are fine (it's still an issue of porting your software, but it's not as terrible as building everything from scratch), but before that OpenVMS could run on Itanium servers at latest, and the platform was dying off since the beginning of 2000s, so it is a problem to find a normal replacement machine now.
