9 months ago, Raivo OTP for iOS was sold to Mobime. Raivo was hailed highly in terms of privacy, but was dethroned to 2FAS Auth after that incident. Today, Raivo launched an update, and after updating all of my entries were completely wiped. I didn't have a backup, but even if I did you now have to pay in order to import/export...

You should be storing your 2fa seeds somewhere just in case an update isn't able to import a backup. Makes it easy to shift to another app.

Honestly it was a bad call on Nokia to switch to windows. They would have been in a different place of they capitalised on their market share and switched to android.

That's not the case. Usually governments and public organisations go throw a volume licensing agreements that sees them taking more than just windows. It would usually include things like windows, office, a bunch of enterprise applications, as well as support on top of it all.

Microsoft usually relies on those agreements to push software that might not be needed.

Another reason could be the video display management system they used to remotely control these screens. The software might only run on windows.

I see two options here really. Either get a pixel phone and install Graphene on it (this allows you to run play services in a sandbox), or get any phone that supports lineage and install everything there and avoid Google.

It depends on whether you need Google services or not. Pixel phones support both operating systems.

My guess that they might only integrate WhatsApp and maybe instagram chat with their messenger. Makes sense that they will focus first on their apps.

Finally deleted my LinkedIn account!

After putting my account into "hibernation" for the past few weeks, I finally closed it. But I'm still looking for work. Thankfully I can still find positions (SRE and software dev) by just going directly to the company's site and finding a Jobs page.

Only issue with LinkedIn is the prospect of finding jobs. I got my last job through LinkedIn actually.

I have used an iPhone in the past and I believe anyone can get out of their walled gardens if they want to. They just need to research and work on it though.

A lot of average users won't do that though. You can export everything if you work on it. The only issue which is iMessage, but that's purely a US issue really. Hardly a problem in Europe where WhatsApp dominates it here.

Just had a look at Reddit TOS, and it has been updated on the 15th of Feb. The below is their term regarding content submitted on their platform.

In all honesty, when I joined Reddit right after digg went to shit. It was amazing. Reddit was great, 3rd party apps were welcome, their interface was straightforward, and they had none of those NFT gold shit.

It just went downhill.

What I don’t understand is that they had the option of providing a free service to all third party apps provided there was no commercial use.

They could have easily asked for a cut from any AI company using their data for training.

The phone is great and things can be replaced easily. My only issue with the phone is it's price. It's quite high compared to phones with similar specs.

It's a good start for a Revanced alternative.

We have Newpipe and Libretube for complete local video management but it's nice to have an additional one to Revanced. Whether it picks up and becomes big that remains to be seen.
