I'd argue it never was anything outside of pulling net celebs names from hats and claiming they were rapists and racists without evidence, and then having them get chased off the internet, destroying their careers in the process and in some cases causing suicides... Unless they actually did it, because then they were rich and could just buy good publicity or start an Alt-Right circle jerk where they can claim "Wokeness" did it.

I remember going into a PIzza Hut after being called in for an interview, guy doesn't even take me into the back room, he does it over the Cash Register; straight up laughs at me when I said it'd been a couple years and that it had been rough, and all I really wanted to do was get back to work.

He said he didn't want to hear my excuses, then he just laughed and said he'd never hire someone as "lazy as me"

A year later I had to report that same fucking pizza hut to corporate for wearing masks only half-way (To fool the cameras I guess) and giving me random rants about Trump when I was trying to order a pizza. Cancelled my order then and there, got Chinese Food instead, and reported them as I waited.

Meanwhile the Subway next door refused to hire me, because I had two last names and "They didn't sound American!"

They're both european surnames.... (my parents weren't married when I was born so I just got both), also I'm so fucking white that I eat Dark Chocolate candy bars not because I genuinely prefer the taste (I mean I do), but because at this point I'm worried that's the whole reason I haven't turned completely straight up transparent.

    Work requirements infuriate me because in so many states, the amount of income you're allowed to have and still get food stamps is so low that you'd have to work less than 10 hours a month to fulfill a work requirement AND still be poor enough to get food stamps

    It's a recruitment tactic mostly, they all know that it happened, but they hope they can reach those who pride themselves on being open minded by saying "What if it didn't?" or "Hey, they seem to get REALLY made at people who are just harmlessly asking questions?"

    So that they can be "Heard out", and hope to indoctrinate you.

    This tactic sadly works, and it's why you can't just "Debate them and challenge their idiocy in the free market of ideas."

    They simply won't play the game fairly and in good faith. An honest debate is between two parties hoping to better make their positions understood, but if you're not honest about what you believe in or why, the whole process has the rug pulled out from under it.

    It really doesn't, especially when it's revealed (Very early on) that magic is literally just saying the right words and waving your wand...

    But how can wizards be stronger than other wizards if this is the case? Which the book states that some are....

    And there are Wizards said to create new spells all the time as part of their jobs... but... how the fuck does that work if the words and wand movement are all that's important? In most settings where it's via some magic essence combined with force of will, it makes sense how you could conjure up spells... but here it's like somehow being able to create a new console command for a software you can't update or modify...

    Plus the scale of what magic can do changes depending on the scene...

    Hagrid, a high school dropout with a broken wand concealed inside an umbrella, can effortlessly turn Dudley into a pigboi..... but learning how to take on just one animal shape is super difficult and only a select few called Animgai can do it... Sure....

    Oh and an IMPOSTER Mad-Eye Moody casually turning Draco into a full-on ferret despite Animagis being this rare and overly difficult to learn thing is also bullshit.. (neither Moody nor the imposter were an Animagi)

    And Hogwarts Legacy just has Animagi as a common enemy type despite them being so rare, but... hey there I can forgive it because without them we wouldn't have good enemy variety (Why are all the creatures in the forbidden forest spiders!??!?!)

    Like, what are the rules? Because if Rowling doesn't care, why should I?
