Imo the old UI was way less clunky than the new one with the remote. You didn't need to log into anything, just cast to the screen. EZPZ. The new one, you need to install the app on the Chromecast, log in on the Chromecast, then you can cast n it will work maybe 60% of the time with casting. Casting's broken, but hey, it's cool, we have apps and a remote now, just use those. The stupid remote gets lost all the time, which obviously wasn't an issue before because your phone/ laptop was the remote. Google thought ahead though, and added remote functionality to the home app that also works about 60% of the time.

Tl;dr new Chromecast sucks.

Feeding data to the CCP, helping them identify people who can be easily swayed into espionage. Say someone gets into a position of power. "Hey, remember when you were 12 and said this on tik Tok? Now we need you to be out bitch or we're leaking this."

Look at the things that have gone viral on Tik Tok, it's like their algorithm prioritizes things that are toxic to make American youth shittier. Kia boys comes to mind.

There is also the fact that China bans all American social media out of fear that we'd use it to manipulate their people. If they aren't allowing our businesses to compete fairly, why should we allow theirs? Also, they probably are projecting that fear because they are doing exactly that with TikTok.

The app has more permissions than most apps and is highly invasive. They sent a push notification to all their users based on Geo location saying who their rep was and giving their phone number saying to call them to stop this bill. That alone seems like a major abuse of power. They are using the data they have to try to sway the American politicians already.

I didn't brick mine, but got very close to it. Was able to run some command prompts to it while it was giving me a blank screen and managed to factory reset/ get it to where I wanted. Man was I worried I just turned my $1,000.00 phone into a paperweight. After that near miss, I gave up on rooting/ custom roms even though I enjoyed tinkering with them. Maybe I should give it another go.

    I used to drive a Prius, and unlike most Prius drivers, I would go 80+ often. Any time you pass someone, they then take it as an affront to their masculinity and need to pass you. I've gone by someone driving 75 while going 80, only to have that same person freak out, and speed up to rip past at 90+. It's wild.

    I think there is a benefit to coming in, but when I do get called into the office the 1st 2 hours is like a social gathering. I don't even work in the building my team is assigned to. I just try to hide from everyone to find a quiet place to work. I'll come in, say hi to people, and fuck right off. We don't have assigned desks n we have an area people usually sit at, but I don't want my boss looking over my shoulder, and I don't want to chit chat so I just bounce to a quiet place and then ask myself why I'm even in office.

    I bought tickets like 4 months in advance for an event. Like a week before the event, I get an email that they don't have my seats, and offered tickets a section over. I was actually relieved because prices had dropped, so I just said no thanks, I'll take a refund, and bought better, cheaper seats.
