Poor guy! That happened to a kitty of mine when I was a kid, with the same symptoms. We caught it early and he was fine, but it was a scary couple of days while he stabilized at the vet. I hope your furry child is alright.

They always, ALWAYS find a spot with textiles.

We have hard floors throughout and two rugs, one in the bathroom and another in the dining room. The dogs puke on the dining room rug and the cats alternate between it and the bathroom rug. Only rarely does someone spew on the actual floor and even then I think it's because they couldn't make it to a rug in time.

Before anyone jumps on and says right to work laws prevent union shops from requiring membership in a union as a condition of employment, that was the Taft-Hartley act of 1947.

That's what we did. We were told the negative criteria were frequent driving, night driving, and all the driving BS you'd expect - hard stops, fast corners, etc. The company used a phone app, so we only installed it on my phone, had it disabled most of the time, and enabled it once or twice a week for a painfully slow drive to the grocery store just around the corner.

We had an amazing score which resulted in... No discount! We actually paid more. We got some bullshit low percentage off which was simultaneously offset by a mid-year rate increase. They claimed they had to reevaluate our rates any time they added a discount. Total bullshit.

If I may give you one simple piece of advice: meat substitutes, at least in my experience, aren't the best. They're not terrible, some are actually even good, but they're not the same and it's noticable. I learned to just embrace veggie food and eat it for what it is, not as something trying to taste like meat, and found those dishes to be much tastier.

Keep in mind the prevailing sentiments of any post are heavily influenced by who shows up first. In this case, a number of people showed up with opinions antagonistic to your beliefs. It's not necessarily representative of the community, just the majority of the people in the comment section at that time. Those with beliefs that run contrary to the prevailing theme in the comment section may decide just not to comment instead of being involved in conflict, further reinforcing the bias.

I agree to an extent. I feel the difference is it's popular in conservative culture to do things simply to "own the libs", even if that behavior is self destructive. Actions primarily meant to harm others celebrated simply because they hurt others shouldn't be condoned.

If the pursuit of a more just and equitable society results in the tears of fascists, misogynists, and/or racists, I'll gladly bathe in them.

It's a United States thing. They use the term liberal to refer to social liberalism whereas you're referring to neoliberalism.

Edit: On second glance, your Wikipedia link is to straight liberalism, which includes things the Republican party doesn't support, like secularism. So who knows.

I agree. Thanks to conservatism worldwide, leftist has become not a set definition but a term denoting relative ideological standing. Anything other than far-right is proclaimed as "extremist Communist socialism", which is on its face hilarious but also letting idiots dictate the manner in which we communicate.

We really have to wrench these terms back and I believe holding fast to and explaining their actual definitions is the foundation of accomplishing this.
